Our cottage was old beds very uncomfortable We also were opposite ends of resorrt from daughter and granddaughter which spoilt the trip the whole point was family time.
Staff were so friendly and nice. We had all you can eat roast beef in the restaurant. Staff were so accommodating with the children accompanying us. Shout out to the recreation lady, she was so friendly and helpful. It's obvious staff are happy and treated well.
Location and staff are fantastic
The cottage was in a run-down condition
location
very very very old fixtures, equipment. shabby paint, only 1 set of oars for kayak and no tennis racquets! could be a lovely place but they need to really invest in the cabins.
Wonderful cottages. Terrific restaurant and spa. Especially Jewel!
Cottage needed a better vacuum. There was hair on the floors. Carpet on stairs needed cleaning. Cottage 10.
The meals were very good. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to please.
We had a problem with the plumbing in cottage 24, which was an inconvenience for two days of our four day stay.
Location was beautiful, excellent food, superb spa!
Towels were too small.
Elmhirst was the perfect quiet getaway to rest for a few days. Due to it being less busy around these days, the staff was always available and friendly, and amenities were always available. The restaurant and pub was also empty enough to avoid any COVID-19 concerns. Our dog was also a big fan of the resort area, and loved doing hikes in the dog-friendly fields.
Due to the heavy overnight rain, there was one overflow pipe that was emptying water every few minutes outside, but the overflow was right outside the backyard patio steps. So even though the day was sunny and mostly dry, the grass right outside our cottage patio stayed wet. Very minor as there was still plenty of dry land, but it did impact where we let our dog relax.
Nice to have own lake front space. Very family friendly. Nice restaurant. Quiet. A lot of activity. Comfortable bed.
The cottage was a bit outdated. (but nice and clean :)
Our cottage was a 3 bedroom and was roomy and comfortable and well equipped, with very comfortable beds and lake views. It’s a cross between a cottage and hotel really. Our group was ages 26-61.Check in and out was super easy and the text messaging communication while there was so easy and quick response received..ie booking activities. There are so many activities but we were there only 3 nights and didn’t use much except the outdoor pool as we had a pontoon boat the entire time so spent most of our time on the water which was fabulous… rice lake is huge. The cottages have their own docks. They also have wifi, satellite tv, stereo. Lake views from the 2 upstairs bedrooms were great to wake up to. Nice newer Bbq on the deck. We had two good size bathrooms with showers (no tub).Ps if you go you may want to drive the 6 minutes into Keene to Muddys Pit BBQ.. trust me it’s worth leaving the resort for. Also Romeos pizza is really good too. The general store that has the LCBO closes at 5 pm so get there early. 2 parking spots right in front of the cottage.
For us we love ti have our own fire pit at a cottage and use it every night. This was a disappointment.Nothing else was missing for us.We hope to go back for a week in summer with a larger group of us.
Beautiful property…amazing staff! Especially those dealing with the wedding we attended!
In bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs…get rid of the tub and put in bigger showers. Update cabins a bit but very comfortable otherwise.
Really beautiful resort! My family enjoyed the hiking to the barn every afternoon. We fed the chickens, brought 2 eggs to the cottages, my boys loved the tubbing and my highlight was the cooking class with chef Jeff by the lake. We made a delicious Crepes ?
I wish we had our own firepit! It is strange you make marshmallows with lots of people you never met before.
The place is beautiful, all villas have stunning views of the lake from the living room, the kitchen, and the dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped and the fireplace is such a pleasure to have on Ontario's cold nights.
The playground facilities were not safe at all for our young toddler. All the water sport activities were close during our spring visit. There were not many food options available at the time we visited and the closest grocery store is about 30min drive.
Dated but the food is excellent and the view is amazing. Seems they have started to update the cottages.
Expensive for the dated facilities. Spa was tranquil and everything was very clean.
So peaceful and clean!
