    • We were greeted by a lovely lady tending the desk. She showed us around & gave us a history lesson on the recreation of this beautiful place. The rooms were beautiful, clean & the breakfast was hot & l delicious. I would recommend staying at this place!

    Cons -

    • If you can¿t handle stairs it is challenging.
    • Rooms are a little small. We were only there for one night so it was fine but if you were staying for a week I think it would get cramped.
    • Disappointed that our room was on the third floor, and I have a bad knee. I wasn't told ahead of time. I should have asked.

The interior has been recently redone but they did a fantastic job of keeping it to period and keeping as much of the old charm as possible. The room was clean and welcoming.

The staff, the room, and the oat cakes!

The hotel is located right off the highway, at one end of Port Hood, easy to find. We arrived late, around 8pm with pouring rain. The hotel manager waited there to check us in. And that's the only time we saw her. The king-size room is spacious.

There are bugs or ticks in the room. Both my husband and I got lots of small itchy bites on our legs and necks. Kids got less. There's a different lady serving breakfast. In and out. No one is really around. It's definitely a place I wouldn't go back to.
