Albachiara Hotel - Las Terrenas

2nd stay at Alabacharo, the same room, 3 Years apart. The room was in the same perfect condition, 3 years later. As a former Wyndham manager I am amazed at the property and the management team! Way to WOW your customers.

The rooms were well equipped with kitchen, AC, and bathroom with shower. The terrace had sun blocking rollershades so you could still enjoy being outside regardless of where the sun was. The hotel was directly across from the beach and within walking distance of all the bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were always friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast was freshly prepared and very good. Our dogs were very welcome on the property which made for a very relaxing vacation for us. Surprisingly for the DR, the area had very little street noise.

I can't recall anything that I didn't like. Maybe some extra pillows.

Great location. English speaking staff. Quiet beach right across the street.

The Dr tends to only have A/C in bedrooms and other rooms have windows with vents.

Beautiful hotel and close to everything you may need specially the beautiful beach across the road. The team at the hotel were welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast offered a good variety and really nice. Thanks to all the Team.

All was great !

Huge room for a family, nice pool, close to everything and they had excursions easy to book. Even included a made to order breakfast. Only negative is a little noisy at night, but not a huge deal given how convenient it is.

Room, swimming pool and breakfast.

Spacious apartments with huge balconies. Lots of stuff around. Well maintained. Nice pool. Lots of light.

Strange pool towel policy, where they expect guests to carry around physical tokens so that they can strictly control towel usage. Extremely small trash can and very limited supplies in kitchen ( no paper towels, coffee only for 2 )

Love the villas! It's a beautiful architecture. The breakfast is amazing and the front desk staff is very kind , and the cleaning ladies too! ❤️

Beautiful property, very clean, well maintained with a gorgeous salt water pool. Included a full breakfast every morning. Across the street from the beach and easy walking distance to excellent restaurants.

Road noise was a bit of an issue.

Absolutely everything l!!! Staff is very professional very friendly. It’s an excellent hotel. This is my fifth stay at this hotel and I would stay there every time I go to Las Terrenas.

I have absolutely no complaints about anything

This is VERY conveniently located. Cross the street and you are at the beach. You are also walking distance from restaurants, bodega (literally next door), clubs, etc. Breakfast was good with made to order eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes along with the usual fruits, yogurts and pastries.Front desk staff was polite.

We had a hot water issue initially and there were some ants in kitchen...but nothing too major.Not the hotels fault as my spanish is limited...but It was a bit difficult to communicate even with google translate. This is just something to note and brush up on spanish before you go to DR.

The Dominican staff was friendly and genuinely seem to care about how terribly everything was.

We came to Las Terrenas to celebrate new years. It was the worse. Albachiara has terrible facilities. The stove didn’t work. The microwave gave us shocks and we have NO RUNNING WATER for over six hours one day, 2 hours another. It ruined our vacation.

It was a really great choice staying at this hotel.

I came back to this hotel a second time after 9 years. I stayed here for a week with my husband to kite surf. It is very close to the kite surf beach and schools (walking distance) and also right by the center of town where all the restaurants/bars are. The hotel is beautiful and spacious, nice pool area with bar, the rooms are very spacious and super clean, breakfast is really nice and is served until 11:30 a.m., no mosquitoes... we absolutely loved it and will come here again!

the Location is very near the downtown. Walking distance and also walking distance to many restaurants. property is well maintained and breakfast is excellent!

There was no AC in the kitchen/Living area on the Villa. the mirrors in Room and Bath not cleaned very well. The TVs did not operate for us and there are no instructions in the room how to use. (we did not bother the front desk)

Room was great, daily cleaned and swept.

Didn't like the staff shutting down my request to allow my 4-yr old grandchild to also swim in the pool. It forced us to always go to their condo to swim with him, our daughter and son-in-law. It seemed such a small request which would have given him immense joy at no cost to the hotel or staff.

hidden cost, booking.com give one price and they charge more and the moment of arrive, claiming booking.com extra charge no disclosed at the time of reservation.

Staff was very friendly, breakfast was good, hotel was kept clean and it was a great location very centralized. One of the issues of the location is the noise coming from the main street in front of the hotel.

The non stop noise caused by the numerous motorcycles and loud music coming from the nearby businesses. To be fair, the hotel has no control over these issues as those are supposed to be regulated by the local authorities. The AC was not working in one of the apartment rooms and my daughter had to be moved to another room but the next day the staff was able to fix it and my daughter returned to the apartment.

It’s a beautiful place and the service was very good. What should be offered or advertised is a shuttle into Las Terraneas. The hotels in the area should have an affiliation with restaurants and retail stores. The area should have more child friendly activities. We would come back again a beautiful area.

There should be better access to the tourist areas of Las Terraneas.
