About

The Gold List 2026 by Condé Nast Traveler, featured in The Best Hotels and Resorts in the World; Oprah Daily’s Hotel O-Wards 2026; and the Hotel & Lodge Awards 2026, where it was selected among the “100 Most Beautiful Hotels in the World” for design, are among the international recognitions that have distinguished Ser Casasandra in the worlds of design, wellness, and travel. Long before the recognitions, there was a vision. Ser Casasandra is the home of artist, writer, and spiritual guide Sandra Pérez. More than twenty-five years ago, with limited resources and an abundance of inspiration, she began shaping what remains today a work of art in progress. A space built through beauty, spirituality, community, and creativity, where every detail has been thoughtfully chosen and where the experience continues to evolve day after day under Sandra’s care. In its design, the house is conceived as a living combination of vintage objects collected by Sandra throughout her life, contemporary artworks, artist-designed furnishings, and pieces by renowned creators. As you walk through the house, you encounter works and designs by Sandra herself, Ernesto García Sánchez, Patricia Urquiola, and Jorge Pardo, alongside interventions by artists participating in Isla Residencia, our community art project. Music is also part of this living work of art. From the Baroque and contemplative compositions that accompany the early hours of the day to jazz and the voice of Nina Simone as evening falls, music becomes an ongoing journey through universal culture. At the heart of the house lives AHAL, meaning “awakening” in Maya, the island’s first holistic center. Through therapies such as kinesiology, biomagnetism, integrative psychology, and water therapies, it becomes a space for inner awakening. AHAL was recognized by Oprah Daily in its Hotel O-Wards 2026 as part of its selection of wellness and transformational retreats across Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. In addition, it offers traditional massages and treatments that support rest and well-being throughout each stay. In our kitchen, the ingredient comes first. Led by Chef Andrés Fernández, considered one of Yucatán’s most distinguished chefs, it works with fresh ingredients sourced from local fishermen who arrive each day with their catch, as well as produce grown in nearby communities such as Solferino. It is a cuisine that honors the origin of every ingredient, the land, and the people who make it possible. Every detail forms part of this work in progress: the aromas, candles, flowers, light, gardens, linens, artworks, and silences. Nothing has been chosen by chance. Everything has been cared for with the intention of creating a space where beauty, stillness, and rest can be felt naturally. This vision has also fostered a deep relationship with the local community. Through a weekly program open to everyone, the house hosts reading clubs, curated film screenings, art workshops, meditations, and gathering spaces. For Sandra, the experience is not only found in the spaces or the objects, but also in the people — in the team that sustains the house through presence, integrity, love, and care. The experience of Ser Casasandra is greater than any description. It cannot be fully explained in words. We are deeply grateful. The truest recognition happens in silence: when a guest arrives, breathes, lets go, surrenders… and feels they have arrived.

The anesthetic, beauty and vibe of the hotel. High level gastronomy. Kindness and helpfulness of the staff.

Small things really. At breakfast, the personnel was kind but uneven in service: they forgot 2 times our of 3 o serve us juice or fruits or granola..We had to remind them what was on the menu...

Great location walkable to town.Air conditioning worked well in the rooms on the ground level.Nice beach area.

Refused our request to arrange taxi service from the private transfer dock telling us there would be taxis - there were not any taxis so we had to walk on dirt roads with our luggage to the hotel. One cocktail of a Ser Cassandra with rum was $40. They tried to charge us $20 for 2 regular drip coffees. So expensive. Expensive for low quality service.Arranged an early morning tour for us from the hotel and no one showed up. There was no staff present to help call the company. We ended up going back to our room and they finally came and knocked on the door 50 min later. I would have liked to sleep in too.Second floor rooms AC does not work as well as ground floor. The ocean front rooms are not worth it because they are still across a street and a beach club room the ocean - you can barely see it.

The staff was so friendly and helpful especially Leticia and Antonio. We felt safe staying at the hotel and enjoyed the pool and pool side bar when we were too tired to go out. The breakfast was great and bar tender Antonio made some of the best mojitos .

please look at my booking I paid for one night 10.500.00 pesos in cash for one night ! because we had no other hotel to

they did not had my booking in the system !!! and staying it’s a scam , I’m always using booking.com it never happened to me ! they are laying , that hotel has a very bad management specially Alfredo telling us he has no rooms , and after is saying if we pay more money for the room he has a room for us ! it’s unbelievable !!!

Everything. The staff, particularly Martin, were wonderful. A beautiful aesthetic throughout, fabulous restaurant for delicious breakfast and supoer and beach bar for lunch. We loved Holbox and this is the jewel in its crown. We will return!

    9PaulPosted on: 3-3-2023

Beautiful hotel, clearly high-end and luxurious when compared to other options on Holbox. Food was also excellent, including breakfast, beach club lunches and dinner - the best higher-end food option on Holbox in our experience, we found others disappointing (but loved the casual local taquerias/street vendors). Staff were extremely accommodating and friendly - only good things to say there. Question on staying here again comes down to price and location - its expense vs other options, but then again quality is high and you get undivided attention. The location is good for quick access to town, but if youre in need of seclusion would suggest options further East on the beach / away from town.

Location spectacular. Room perfect. Food divine. Staff lovely. Massage amazing.

    10Marie-ÈvePosted on: 2-3-2023

The best hotel we've ever stayed at. Beautifully decorated, perfect location and the most friendly staff. Their beach club is the nicest one in Holbox. The complimentary yoga classes by the pool in the morning are a dream and so is the breakfast! I highly recommend staying at Casasandra!

Great location, superbe service, good food, nice beach club. This was our second stay in the year, the second trip went even better than the first. You can notice majority of staff seek to make your stay extra special. Thanks CasaSandra!

I still find prices high compared to other options available in the area, I would have decided to stay longer if only accommodation and food prices were lower.Mosquitos, they can be brutal... however this is clearly outside the hands of the hotel staff (make sure you bring plenty mosquito repellent). We found mosquitoes were much less present in the winter than in the summer.

Very cute hotel perfectly situated on the island. Family friendly accommodation with really pleasant staff members and reception desk. The beach is the best on the island and the food is quite expensive but tasty!

    9LauraPosted on: 10-5-2022

Everything was absolutely amazing. The hotel was beautiful and in an incredible location. We had such an incredible week and wish we were back there right now. Everyone was so lovely and helpful to accommodate us with our 1 year old daughter. We had the pool to ourselves everyday it was magical.

Breakfast was incredible but the menu choices throughout the day (lunch and dinner) felt limiting for vegetarians. We wish there was a bit more choice for us. Food was also quite espensive.

    9SergioPosted on: 7-21-2022

Great location. The beach is very good (no sargassum)! Very good food at main restaurant and at the beach. Cool hotel design. Very comfortable rooms. Free yoga classes daily. Staff are passionate and really go out of their way to help make a positive memorable experience. I travelled with my family (kids and grand parents) and everybody loved it. We look forward to going back soon!

Concierge staff need to be better trained/informed on the activities they recommend (ie snorkelling, boat trips, etc). I found out the package described by hotel concierge was not the same to what we experienced (which was very frustrating), then also found out prices of external activities booked via the hotel concierge were +20 to 50% more expensive than if done direct with suppliers found on the internet. I would recommend the hotel to revisit such prices or else if they are going to charge such premium that they offer more accurate recommendations to their guests. I personally had a bad experience on the above, but then hotel made up for it very responsibly. Thank you!Food is very good but pricey, particularly the dinner menu and drinks. I could not compare quality/prices of competing options near the hotel as we did not leave the place. Heads Up: The island has mosquitos!! We all used lots of repellent and still got badly bitten. Hotel fumigates and provides organic repellent which is great, yet you need to be prepared to deal with nature.

The property is ultimate relaxation, staff are plenty yet completely unobtrusive and recognize your needs. The staff handled transportation wonderfully. Property is beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast is delightful as is the food at Mojito.

Wonderful resort. The staff were all very helpful & polite. The beach was at a great location and not overly populated.

    10JodiPosted on: 2-10-2022

Our stay was simply amazing the staff went above and beyond to make my birthday celebration a success. The Mojito beach club was lovely. The staff was the best on the island. Carla, Martin, Christian, Liteicia, and everyone whose name I can't remember were all amazing! They were so accommodating. They set up a private breakfast on the beach for my birthday. He worked with the chef prior to our stay to make this happen and it was perfect. Top-notch service all around. They provided great restaurant recommendations and called taxis for us whenever we needed one.

They could use a little more light in the bathroom but other than that everything was wonderful!

    Staff, Food, Pool, Beach Club

Wi-Fi, but this is a problem in the whole Holbox

    8IsabellePosted on: 11-18-2021

    the location on the beach,

The noise, too much noise!!! Hotel near the road + the room above ours was not isolated, very noisy. Worse, the hotel was undergoing renovation and there was noise from 8am to 7pm. They told us the duration of this renovation should be 2 or 3 months ... but they refuse to warn customers! Impossible to rest in this hotel :-(
