The room and the views of the beach was the best thing about the hotel.

The restaurant had the same menu for both lunch and dinner and did not have any catch of the day (fish) for the 3 days we were there. There are other restaurants super close by that did have.

I keep coming back for the location. Everything else is average, but the price is reasonable.

The restaurant is terrible. One of the worst ones on the island.

The AC struggled to keep the room cool. I was there in Aug, so it was very hot outside.

The breakfast was very bad, the food and the attention at restaurant it’s was awful, they don’t have enough staff, the rooms are very dirty.

The properties location was absolutely beautiful.

There is zero amenities. There is a bar located by the beach but it has no servers. Not actually sure what the people that work there do. They seem to just hang out. They also do not serve the pool or offer any form of room service. Seems like a massive lost opportunity for revenue to me. It would have been amazing to sit on the beach and enjoy a meal and a beverage.WiFi is also absolutely pathetic. When you check in, they tell you to whatsapp them if you need anything. The catch is, there isn’t enough WiFi to WhatsApp! There is no reason with modern day internet (such as starlink) that a resort has such pathetic WiFi. Spend a couple grand, install Starlink, a mesh system and the entire property would have blazing WiFi. If you work remotely you will not be able to get work done here.

It was pretty and mostly pleasant.

The hot water was enough only for a 4-minute shower and then we had to wait an hour or so until the next person could take a quick shower. The breakfast was mediocre.

Food wasn’t great and surprised there was sargasso piled at the beach at a 5* hotel.

The breakfast is the main reason I would not come back. It was not good and the service at the breakfast was terrible. Out of coffee. Just basic, sub par selection that was often gone.

Our bungalow had direct access to the beach and the location was walkable to the town center. The staff was congenial and very helpul. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor living spaces.

There was no comfortable seating, at all.

The food has declined. Breakfast and lunch used to be excellent. This is our third time visiting Blue. 2020 was our first time.

Beautiful location right on the beach. There is a gym, swimming pool, restaurant/bar. It was easy to get beach chairs each day to enjoy the view. 15 minutes walk yo town, easy ti get a taxi if you didn’t want to walk.

The biggest downfall was the lack of insulation in the unit. Even with the AC set to the lowest setting, the room stayed warm in August. Our unit could only be set to 18 Celsius. We were traveling with 2 other couples, their unit could go down 17 but they stillsaid the unit was too warm for sleeping at night. It felt like upper 70’s. We are all from Houston TX area, so we are used to hot weather but would have liked to sleep at 70 Fahrenheit.Food at the restaurant was just ok. Few items way better than others. Nachos were terrible, severed with soupy beans & gobs of processed nacho cheese. It was more like soup. Very disappointed.

There was 10 of us, we loved the hotel and location being so close to the beach, plus the staff was so sweet and helpful. Breakfast was really good and plenty of choices. The restaurant food was really good.

Something that was strange was the racoons, we didn't expect to have them around. The road with the taxis was to close to some of the rooms.

Breakfast is very basic. Limited choice of fruit, ham and cheese. Not very clean. For price we paid, very poor breakfast. All days same.

Prompt and wonderful customer service

The location of Hotel Blue Hotbox is truly perfect — far enough from the city to feel quiet and discreet, yet close enough that guests can walk just 10 minutes to reach the main restaurant and bar area. The resort itself is beautiful and well-designed, with great potential.

Several aspects of the experience need improvement. The beach area could be enhanced by adding hammocks and stylish, comfortable furniture, especially in the large empty spaces that currently lack charm and function.Service is mediocre overall, with very little attention to detail. Around 80% of the staff were not friendly or welcoming. My only positive interaction was with the front desk team, who were kind and professional. Housekeeping was below standard — mirrors and windows were not cleaned, and basic toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, and body cream were not replaced during the stay.The room is basic, and adding a coffee or tea machine would significantly improve the experience. Also, breakfast starts at 8:00 AM, and there are no food or beverage options available before or after standard hours (before 8 AM or after 6 PM), which is not convenient for early risers or late returners.

It needs a big hammock in the terrace and toiletries should be replenished every day.

Wow wow wow are the words that come to mind. A beautiful and stylefully décorated palapas right on the beach, amazing breakfast and just a 10min walk from the town so it was quiet but at the same time close to the action. The beach beds were great and a massage we booked right there was the best. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We made a vow to come back every year as it was just pure paradise.
