Pros +
- It’s a gorgeous property. It’s as if somebody randomly airdropped a Tuscan estate onto a random South African plot of land. It’s a pity I visited in winter but I know how gorgeous it is in summer once the rain’s come in and the river’s in full flow. The staff, true to South African hospitality was wonderful! The front desk, HILARIOUS! So helpful, so efficient. Wonderful restaurant and delicious food with polite and accommodating waitstaff.

Cons -
- The toilet and showers. They are so out of place and don’t fit in with the aesthetic of the rest of the room. It’s as if they ran out of budget and decided that camp dorm showers would suffice. Dear management/owner, PLEASE update. It takes away so much from the gorgeous room. Maybe also update the TV placement for room 2. Either mount it on the wall or change its position relative to the beds. I think upgrading the TVs themselves to smart TVs that offer Netflix or other streaming services would elevate the experience.
- Limited activities but good for a two night restful stay
- The TV was not working for all the time we were there. The TV is old. They need to replace the TV with newer models. We can do without the TV at this place, but if they want to have TV it must match their standard which is high in our view.

We truly enjoyed the breakfast. The room had a lovely private terrance with an amazing view of the walking trails.
Clean, breakfast was great, staff was very friendly
Must upgrade the electrical connections in the room
Breakfast was okay.
No Gowns, no slippers, no shower cap in the shower provided. In the middle of the night, the aircon just switched itself, and the staff confirmed it was faulty. It was already 5 am and could not go back to sleep. The drive from reception to the rooms is not good or safe, the road is not well maintained and there are heaps of sand lying around and other building materials which is not pleasing to the eye, also no warning signs. The TV is old, the channel list limited, no streaming options available.
The room was a good size. The shower and the bath worked fine. The toilet was leaking. Kept me awake the whole night. The door to the garden didn’t work. The maintenance guy took hours, like over 3 hours before he came to fix it. Room service was great and the food was nice.
The toilet, the door and the tv that was not working because I think the batteries were finished. At this time I didn’t wanna make the call the call to complain. Just watched tv on my phone.
Loved the outdoor restaurant
Rooms are very dark and can’t keepThe curtains open because room is on a busy pathway. No carpet, you have to step on the cold concrete floor. Shower head needs to be fixed. I think the rooms are overpriced. I wouldn’t sleep there again
Loud Music
We were booked right next to a party venue. We could hear the loud music and noise from our unit. We tried to tolerate the noise until we couldn't handle it any longer... I called reception at 10pm asking about the noise, and all the receptionist could say is that he doesn't know when the party will end, but he will call and ask them to turn the music off. The music was turned off, but people were making noise until 4 am.It is so sad because we came from a nearby spa and needed to rest before going back to kzn, this really disturbed our evening and we were not well rested for the trip.
Breakfast was excellent. Huge and diverse spread of food! Courteous staff too!The wifi was excellent . Beautiful environment and nice place to stroll around Dinner was great!
The choice of programs to watch on TV was extremely limited. The advertised TV channels were not accessible. The intercom or phone in the room wasn't working. Air-conditioning unit worked but wasn't cooling the way I wanted. And you couldn't really regulate it!
The place is clean, rooms are beautiful and spacious ,linen and towels were clean and smelling good.It has a stunning views.
Passable
We were located in the middle of a wedding party, obviously they were noisy, we should not have been located there. The room had no privacy if the curtains were open, you feel like you're in a fish bowl. We left after 1 night.
Very good
The room wasn't clean and there was spider webs and spiders
Outstanding facilities
Attitude of the staff at breakfast. The exception was the head chef called Sam. He was outstanding
Clean, great location, scenic and great food.
The room and check-in, turndown was beautiful. .
Restaurant team are absolutely disinterested in offering decent service.
There was ample space, it was really scenic.
The bedroom floors, it made the room look unfinished.
great place, great breakfast, great staff
there could have been a map of the place
Loved the venue and it's surroundings
Too many mosquitos as lights were left on before we got into it. Couldn't sleep due to it. Notuing to use for them like Peaseful sleep.Buffet breakfast area too small and not enough space for people to move around and get their breakfast.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the venue excellent located for us, lots to do went cycling and to nearby coffee shops and restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
