Pros +
- Good size of the room. The breakfast and dinner is great. Although the foods doesnt look fancy on the table but the taste is great. There are also alcohol buffet and soft serve ice cream.
- The dinner buffet had free flow of nice local sake on top of beer so good value if you drink. There is drying room and lockers, changing room right at entrance so ski facilities are fine.
- Good value for money. Everything you needed in one room. The facility had free lockers for ski gear as well as a drying room!
Cons -
- The location is on the hill. We came on winter's time so there are lots of snow. Eventhough we had a car we still find it hard to drive to the hotel. The snow tire is not enough for some situation. you should be very well prepared.
- Overall very minimal service and not much hospitality feel. No staff to greet you at front desk. when you arrive before check-in time, you walk into an empty quiet lobby. There was a sign that says "Check in is at 3pm ring with bell if you need something", it's not a bit deal, but this very minimal service is what you get throughout the stay. Not bad service, but no warm or mindful service.Be mindful of the location, it is at the top of a hill, around 10min walk from gondola for an adult. With young kids + gears it will be difficult. It was not the best choice for us as a family with young kids. Children buffet price is fixed from 3yo to elementary school, which doesn't feel very logical. Food buffet I would prefer less choices, better quality. Outdoor onsen was broken and out of order, this was disappointing as front desk did not even inform us upon check-in. We discover by a notice on the door inside the onsen. We booked 2 rooms, one was fair, the other was bad. Stains all over the ceiling and overall in bad need of a refresh. Floor was unclean. It's an ok hotel if you're just adults and comfortable with walking up and down the hill, just looking for simple place to stay.
- The decor was dated. Could do with updating.

First time in Hakuba, went there for a family snowboarding trip. While the property is a little bit dated in terms of decor, it was simple and clean. Rooms were spacious. Common area were large and the common baths were easily accessible. No shortage of storage space as well. We ended up having breakfast on the property everyday as it was simple but tasty with good service.
Simple and Cozy. Wasn't crowded although we were there late March.
Very conveniently located a short walk from the gondola. Buffet breakfast and dinner was good value.
The property is quite close to a chairlift at Happo. And the price was very reasonable comparing to other option. This is a very “Japanese” style hotel.
It’s up a very steep hill which sucked at the end of a big day. The shower was very small. Because we intended to go to different mountains each day, we would choose a location closer to a bus terminal and on more flat ground - the hill really ruined it when you’re lugging your gear up it.
It's a great budget hotel. Close to chair lift and food and drink provided. Perfect ?
Close to ski lifts Restaurant,
Stairs
The hotel provides a spacious area for storing ski equipment, and the drying zone for ski boots is quite warm, ensuring that skiers can wear dry boots the next day. Both breakfast and dinner are served as buffets. Although the variety of dishes isn’t particularly extensive, it’s sufficient to satisfy people with different tastes. Interestingly, the free self-serve ice cream and drink stations are always crowded. Watching the cheerful children and elderly people sharing the same space, each enjoying themselves in their own way, made me forget I was in Japan. Before going to bed at night, you can relax in the hot spring, washing away the fatigue of the day — a truly comforting experience. The hotel is conveniently located between two lifts, just a few minutes' walk to hop on a lift and head up the mountain for skiing. About five minutes from the hotel is the Evergreen Ski School, making it incredibly convenient for those who want to learn or improve their skiing skills.
The lighting in the room is not bright enough, and the WiFi signal is weak.
Awesome, close to lifts ,pretty much ski in ski out, great facilities and restaurants.
Maybe the stairs between my room and the restaurant was 6 levels , but is because I was staying on the highest floor
Perfect location of the hotel for our short stay and 1 day ski in Hakuba Happo One. Hotel seems bit old but sufficient for reasonable price. Breakfast was simple but OK. Onsen / Public batch was perfect. The facilities for skier is perfect - enough room in heating room, additional heater in lobby for fast drying, spacieous lobby with small shop (noodle cups and hot water included as well as tea & coffee machine and of course you can buy drinks and beers as well in vending machines) Staff on reception was very polite and helpfull.
The rooms are a bit shabby, it would be good to paint the walls
Great proximity to the Happo-One chair lifts, excellent onsen (both indoor and outdoor), and the dinner buffet was very reasonably priced!
Whilst really close to the ski slopes it is a bit of a trek to restaurant and town - at least 10 minute walk down hill!
Close to lifts and gondola
Breakfast was not great
We loved how close the hotel is to the Evergreen Ski School as our three children had daily lessons there and it was only a few minutes walk there. Also quite close to the ski lifts and some restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The showers also had great water pressure which is great when it’s snowing outside and the heating in the room worked well.
The beds were very hard and uncomfortable and the fridge in our room did not keep our food cold. The breakfast buffet was not great as there weren’t many food options to choose from.
Amazing location for the snow, plenty of parking, good hotel facilities with lockers, breakfast, laundry and onsen. Rooms are good, ours was large by japan standards.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful. The reception area with the fire-place was warm and cosy after a day of skiing. We loved it, thank you!
Transfers from the bus or train station would've been great because taxis weren't available when needed.
The hotel staff were very attentive. The room was very clean & the hotle was located within an easy walk to ski lift.
Maybe a bit more variation in the breakfast & dinner meals.
Near the slopes
Far from Hakuba Happo one terminal.
Location is prime. Having breakfast and dinner was so much easier than booking restaurants.
No shuttle service from bus stop
Great place to stay if you want a Japanese experience. Old hotel but has everything you need for a ski holiday. Traditional Onsen was wonderful after a day on the slopes. Large area dedicated to ski lockers and drying room. Short walk into the centre of Happo but a bit hard up the hill coming back.
Rooms were small but is what you expect in Japan.
