    Pros +

    • The service was amazing and a great location. Loved the restaurant and bar located there as well
    • Value for the location and rooms wereVery spacious, well equipped and cozy.
    • Decent breakfast! Nice location with shuttle bus service to popular ski resorts.

    Cons -

    • I had to wait over an hour to get my keys due to receptionist making a shuttle run. In there defense I did arrive a bit earlier than I informed them, however I could not get ahold of anyone else.additionally, the bar and restaurants were closed due to it being the beginning of the season. I don’t think that info was made aware upon booking.
    • Need more dryer in the laundry area.
    • Nothing comes to mind really. Breakfast wasn’t the best but it did the job.

We were upgraded to an amazing apartment. We watched monkeys in the trees for over a half hour, right from the patio. Awesome!

We stayed here before our hike, and it was a great choice. Very good value and our room was very spacious, comfortable, quiet and well designed. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the free shuttle was useful

Nothing comes to mind really. Breakfast wasn’t the best but it did the job.

Breakfast was good each day with a changing set menu. We are vegan and the cook prepared that for us each day:) thank you!!!!We cooked dinner in every night, it was a bit tight, but we did it:) There was generally enough equipment for what I wished to cook, but only one burner? I forget now, it was a while ago.:). The room is spacious and felt nice for the long stay.We loved being able to ride the free bikes and the closeness to the river for a swim everyday! You could walk to the river... or bike it.We made several long hikes and climbed Mount Karamatsu to the top after the ski lift-- recommend!and do go see the Olympic ski jump, and bit the bullet to pay to go up the lift, it was impressive.

Main road traffic right out your window.

Very clean property, very supportive staff, excellent amenities, proximity to Onsen, Happo one terminal yet having abundant nature around.

    Nothing to mention.

Best room we've had in Japan! Including a small kitchenette which was perfect for cooking up dinner. Excellent location: walkable/bike able to bus station, supermarket ,Happo One Gondola, onsen. Really helpful staff, pick up/drop off from train station. Nice breakfast. Laundry facilities.

The lodge and room was beautiful and spacious. Breakfast was excellent, even though it was western and we grew to prefer Japanese breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful, but there were some issues they couldn’t resolve.

We were originally assigned a room without air-conditioning, even though there were controls on the walls labeled air conditioning. After one hot night, we were informed that our room didn’t actually have AC and they offered to move us to a new room with AC. While this was much appreciated, we were looking forward to being in the same room for more than one night. This was the only place we stayed in 28 days in Japan that didn’t have air conditioner. In addition, while we appreciated the free bicycles, they didn’t have codes for the locks or a pump for the tires. Our overall impression was that something was missing because we were here in a very slow time of the year

I think the best part of our stay was the staff. They were incredibly friendly and even offered us rides to nearby places. Taiyo, one of the staff members, was especially accommodating and genuinely kind!

We visited Hakuba during the off-season, so it was a bit difficult to find places to eat at night.

Spacious, well equipped with good TV, Zwilling Henkels knives, heater etc.

Wish they had Asian option for breakfast

    10HelenePosted on: 4-16-2025

Spacious and beautiful room. Westernized but still with the Japanese touch. Really good breakfast.

    10LohPosted on: 4-11-2025

The room is very nice and cozy. There is a small kitchen with all the things we need. Bed and futon is comfortable too. There are many things to play at the lobby- pool table, soccer table and even children games. Its a great place to spend time with family. There is a gaming room (ps4) upstairs as well! The breakfast changes everyday and it feels very much at home. We even saw monkeys passing by once while having our breakfast! The only minus point during our stay is the flight of stairs leading to the lobby. Usually there will be 1 young man manning the reception. Depends on who is on duty, some is helpful while some isn't. When we were checking out, he saw us with lots of luggage but didn't offer any help. However this is not an issue and we will definitely come back here again if we were to return to hakuba!

Wadano gateway was fantastic. The stay is in a great spot very close to happo one (a 10 minute walk to the lifts), however the team at wadano will drop you off and pick you up from a variety of places during the day (including happo one and iwatake). The room was very comfortable, the team were super friendly and our stay was great. The stay has a communal area with pool table, and seating. There is daily breakfast as well.We will be staying here again as it was great value.

Wadano was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! The super helpful staff, shuttles, and amazing daily breakfasts made our trip to Hakuba a 10/10. The apartment was brand new, super clean and the beds were comfy after a long day of skiing! The location was also close to town and restaurants we were interested in trying (recommend Hummingbird!) We absolutely loved Wadano and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

    Nothing :)

Beautiful area and lots to do

Breakfast was tiny. We had to buy eggs and eat in our room after breakfast. It was very small.
