Sapiens home - Weligama Bay

The budget single room is a good deal and very cozy - the bed is bigger than a normal twin. Good hot shower, air conditioning, mosquito net over the bed. The pool was good and the hotel is right on the (brown) river.Also, easily the best hotel breakfast I had in Sri Lanka.

I wish the pool area had more shade. The pool loungers were also kind of worn out.The location is kind of far from the beach area, so you'll want to rent a scooter.

It was clean, peaceful, and relaxing

It was a 15 minute walk from the beach, but I made a friend with a friendly Tuk-tuk driver and the distance was negligible. Honestly, this is a lovely place.

This hotel is an amazing place in Waligama.. we had a room in front of the swimming pool..we really enjoyed that . the room is specious and super clean. the host is a great person also he is very friendly.. lwish i could've extended my stay.

This place is a hidden diamant. Amazing rooms and not to far from the center. Great employers and lovely atmosphere. There are only around 10 rooms and all of them are great. Nice ac and beautiful rooftop-terrace!

View from the property was excellent, rooms and bathrooms were very spacious and nicely furnished, it was nice to have a pool. The jewellery workshop was a lot of fun.

The property is a little out of the way and not the nicest walk, but tuktuks do pass regularly. The ownership is still relatively new and from we could tell there’ll be more activities etc in the near future, as well some kinks that need ironing out. Other guests have mentioned that there’s not much seating around the pool - we would echo this and add that a parasol or two would be great!

This place is truly the best place to stay. Sapiens Weligama is nestled in stunning natural surroundings, offering complete tranquility while still being close to the city. We initially planned a short stay but ended up staying for two months because, after just one hour, it already felt like home.The staff are incredibly welcoming and kind—genuinely some of the warmest people you can imagine. From the manager to the kitchen staff and those who keep everything spotless, they make you feel like family because they truly care about your well-being.This isn’t just a hotel—it’s a home in paradise.The WiFi is excellent, the beds are comfortable, and the pool with its river view is absolutely breathtaking. I liked everything.

It was an exceptional stay. The staff in particular was so welcoming and ensured that we were comfortable. I was travelling with my parents (both senior citizens) and we were all taken care of so well. The breakfast was fantastic and their chefs are so thoughtful with dietary requests. I am really grateful for everyone who took care of us - Janith, Manoj, Achini and Kalhari. Thank you for your hospitality!

Nothing as such that we didn't like. The rooms are really spacious and have a minimal design, which is great. My only suggestion would be to make it a bit more furnished and add amenities like a TV in the room as well.

Beautiful location, next to the river. Was lucky to get a nice sunset. A bit away from busy roads so peaceful and quiet. Surrounded by nature and monkeys. Nice and relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. Beautiful communal area where you can easily hang out and relax. Wifi works really well which is a plus for Sri Lanka. Very friendly staff, manager is very responsive and ready to help. They have a jewellery atelier upstairs and you can take a course which is really nice. The owner recently changed and you see that they are changing things, steady but slowly getting there. Would recommend this place and come again.

Due to the construction of the building, it can get a bit noisy as soon as people are in the hallway. Overall it didn't bother me too much as during night time was quiet. Some extra options for food would be a plus but already a nice menu. Not a minus point but just be aware, you take this spot because it is quiet so do realise that you might need a tuktuk to get to restaurants etc. During the day manageable to go by foot.

Sapiens is a haven! Away from the crowds, calm quiet and peaceful. On the river with a pool and wildlife everywhere. The staff are super helpful and got me a bike the first day which means I feel like a local. Breakfast is delicious and the pool is perfect for a lazy day or post surf dip to cool off. I can highly recommend staying here.

Exceptional value for money. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and spacious - great aircon, which is a welcome escape from the heat. Very fast wifi. Friendly, helpful and responsive staff. Fabulous location, close enough to Weligama by tuktuk but away from the crowds and gorgeous river views. The breakfast in decent, but nothing to write home about. We would certainly come back if we were in the area again.

I had a wonderful stay at River Post! Even got upgraded to a more spacious room. The Internet was fast, the bed comfortable, and the aircon a blessing. Manoj and Janith were very welcoming and helpful. They helped me get a motorbike for a decent price, and even connected me to a neighbor with a sowing machine when I needed a piece of clothing to fix :)

I had an amazing stay here at River Post Co-Working & Co-Living Weligama. The room was very clean, I was able to check in early, they have an AMAZING massage therapist based on site, the location is right beside the river with a great view, and the host Manoj is very welcoming. There is also free parking and an in-house breakfast is available. I would highly recommend this place for an affordable and relaxing visit to Weligama! ?

If you’re coming in a big vehicle parking will not be possible at the property since the road leading there is quite narrow.

We had an amazing time here! Ended up staying longer than we originally planned. The staff was amazing and helped us with everything we could ask for. Everybody was so kind and welcoming A big plus was the delicious and affordable breakfast every morning and the stunning view from the patio during work ☺️

Really beautiful room with a view on the river. Thanks to the the AC and stable internet connection I was able to get some work done and have conference calls without any issue. Great breakfast and super hospitable team!

As it’s very new I’m looking forward to some more decorations and chill places in the common areas.

Not the best location

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and it was a delightful experience. The room was clean, and the bathroom featured an excellent shower. The standout feature was the incredibly helpful and friendly staff who made my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and welcoming stay. Close to weligama beach too (15 min walk, or 3 min with tuk tuk 300 SLR)

Although the co-working and kitchen facilities were not yet available (anticipated to open by October 2023), the staff's provision of a separate ADSL internet router ensured seamless Teams calls. I eagerly anticipate returning once the hotel is fully operational for a nice coffee with lunch!

It was really comfortable and the staff was really flexible. The location was beautiful, overlooking a lake, which made it peaceful and quiet.

It was a little more expensive than mentioned on Booking.
