    Pros +

    • Amazing stuff, brilliant bar/restaurant staff who are always smiling and happy to help. It’s nice and calm at the hotel, which is needed to get away from the busy street of Ahangama. Balcony is a huge plus, a sofa was such a luxury!
    • Located right opposite the ocean at a close proximity to the secret beach and ahangama town area. Beautiful hotel with a lovely pool, cafe and amazing staff. Big shout out to Miriam, property manager who went above and beyond to help us enjoy the stay! Definitely worth the price!
    • Great staff. Great manager Miriam! Great internet. Terrific meals in their restaurant. Rooms really comfortable. Everything we needed for a break from travelling.

    Cons -

    • Only thing was the bed was slightly hard, but as a one little complaint, we were more than happy!
    • Loved everything about Jam house! One thing to improve is the massage centre where they requested to change the booked slot twice which made us cancel the booking.
    • Pool was a bit warm as it does not have any shade. Ok in the morning but very hot in the afternoon. Miriam told us there were plans to reduce the heat with shade.Noisy echoes at night from other guests slamming doors etc. Not specifically the hotels fault but it is a large concrete structure….

The staff were great, we really liked how close it was to centre strip. We also loved the two dogs. We nicknamed them Jammy 1&2! The gardener was also really good at looking after the grounds and keeping everything clean and tidy. The staff make this place what it is.

Limited menu, but this seems to be consistent with other places. We did see a few things we weren’t a fan of, but the staff couldn’t do more to fix.

Very good hot shower, clean room, ecological friendly (water refill daily, towel change every 2 day), huge balcony, good location. Tasty but limited breakfast, nice beds.

1-There is a constant smell coming from toilet itself and it is sometimes too much, we mostly kept it close2-Breakfast always ready in 45 minutes, you wait a lot3-Pool was not used a lot but it was dirty, we only used once or twice.

We had a lovely stay at the Jam House - the staff were really lovely, especially the manager who helped us greatly when we arrived with an unfortunate bout of food poisoning. She got us some lime juice to help settle our tummies and was just so kind and caring. She was also attentive throughout our stay. The location is around a 15 minute walk into Ahangama main town or a 2 minute scooter ride, with a lovely little beach with a bar just across the road. We really liked the location as we found the main town a bit busy at times so this was a lovely little oasis to come back to in the evenings. We loved our balcony as well - super comfortable.

Location is great, super clean too! Staff was helpful at all times.

Not beach side, but still didn’t affect the stay.

    10HarknessPosted on: 3-25-2025

Lovely staff. Nice and clean. Just what you need. Lovely balcony! It is a good 10/15 minute walk into the main bit of town but it’s easy to get there and not far at all! Nice to be slightly out of all the hustle but still very close to everything you need. I will 1000000% come stay again. Perfect little spot to base yourself!

Very nice hotel with pool, clean rooms, good and professional service

We didn’t like the bathroom doors since they were pretty open, breakfast portions are on the smaller side. We would have loved the option to share a another order.

We loved our stay at the Jam house. The pool is lovely and spa on top floor with 20% off for guests is a great addition. It’s a bit of a walk to town but you can take a tuk tuk easily.

Breakfast was nice but if anything it could be easily improved with speed and quantity.

    10VictoriaPosted on: 3-17-2025

Loved the decor and the large room with a Seaview. The balcony was amazing! The restaurant was very quiet when i was there and i didn’t get a chance to use the pool but it looked really really nice.

A few scrapes and chunks out of cups in the room.. nothing major! a funky smell in the bathroom on arrival. Bed was a little hard for my liking.

    10LouisePosted on: 3-12-2025

Staff were all lovely, poolWas clean. They were helpfulGetting me in early to my roomAs arrived fromLondon at 2 am in the morning. Breakfast was lovely and walkable to town which was great.

    Couldn’t fault it

    10LesleyPosted on: 3-8-2025

The pool and restaurant area. The staff were great. The location was good. The bed was lovely and the balcony was good size!

The shower needs a shelf for soap, shampoo etc.

    7MikkoPosted on: 3-4-2025

The hotel looks good, is clean and is well decorated. The pool is nice.

There’s no toilet privacy; there’s barely a door between the bathroom and the bed, and the sounds from the other rooms can be heard easily. They don’t have a luggage room so the bags were just left at the lobby next to the entrance without no one controlling who takes them. There were rarely anyone sitting at the reception desk and many weren’t able to assist in easy questions, such as how to get to Galle. The breakfast doesn’t include any other drinks than tea or coffee, juice and water comes with a cost.

    9BelindaPosted on: 3-3-2025

lovely room. The location was good - easy walk to Ahangama and Midigama Right (we walked in both directions to a nice beach). The food at the restaurant was good. The hotel was very stylish and comfortable. we slept really well while we were there. We stayed 5 nights and we could have stayed longer.

We didn't end up using the pool, as there wasn't any deck chairs free each time we went to use it so we just went to the beach. Maybe they could put a few deck chairs on the grass area under the trees.

Beautiful hotel, great location in Ahangama, and amazing staff! Breakfast was incredible and general food/ drinks at the restaurant is great and the staff really helpful.Pool area is gorgeous.Staff helped with everything, drivers, tuktuks anything we needed!Walking distance to other places and nearby restaurants, (main town Ahangama - not really a main town but just where it is a bit busier) is a 10/15 minute walk but past beautiful beaches and lovely restaurants/ bars/ cafes so very enjoyable, super reasonable in a tuktuk too if the walk is not for you. We were happy to be a bit further out though, as still lots to do and well connected but a bit less hectic and cleaner.Only thing worth mentioning is the property does not have an alcohol license (yet), however it should soon, and the Hakuna Matata over the road does, plus it is on the beach with great views of the sunset. (If this is the only negative it is a tiny one! And I would still stay here again without a license).

    Nothing it was fab!
