    Cons -

    • As nonsmokers the constant odor of cigarettes from the restaurant is the only reason we would not stay at this otherwise lovely hotel again.
    • The taxi very difficult to reach the property

Loved our stay. The reception was great fun. We were on our honeymoon and got a normal room. Got updated to a suite free of charge as a honeymoon gift. The staff is great, and everything from the room to the breakfast was great. Just genuinely kind people. The restaurant had live music which was a great touch, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the entertainment. Overall, the best place to stay in Izmir for sure.

    Nothing. Just a great time.

Very nice hotel and very helpful staff! My number one choice when I visit Izmir

The one exit is near to the fish market but always you can choose the other one in the bazar

Historic location right in the bazaar, good restaurants around, and the hotel has reasonably good food as well. Comfortable bed.

There's live music nightly so if you'd like to sleep early, it could be loud. I did not like the smell of smoke which could be smelled from my room even though people were smoking on the main floor with restaurant and live music. Not very suitable for family. The location of the hotel in the bazaar was at the fishy section so it smells fishy once you stepped outside of the hotel.

Gorgeous hotel with large comfortable rooms, unique lobby, great food and excellent service . Very affordable and in the heart of old Izmir. Great find!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. One day we had to leave very early for a day trip. The front desk staff packed us a breakfast to go. Very thoughtful. Thank you!

It’s historic place , it throws you to 100 years back, yet very clean, high end vintage decorations and furnitures in the rooms. Great ambiance

    No car access

Large room, very clean. Friendly helpful staff. Live music in the evening but always finished by 11:00.

Unusual location but not a negative.

The breakfast was delicious, enjoyed in the beautiful open air terrace. The staff at the desk were extremely helpful with arranging rides and guides for us at Ephesus and Cesme.

Great location in the old town, surprisingly quiet, and everything worked well-shower, mini-fridge, bedAnd you were very close to the fish market-as well as many other shops

Turker at concierge/front desk was the most personable and considerate staff member we have met on our stay in Turkey. Our rooms had everything that we needed. So thoughtfully and comfortably appointed. The shower was amazing as were the towels, bath supplies and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the live music.

Sometimes we smelled cigarette smoke from the interior courtyard in our bedroom.

Location: is special, namely in the middle of the Izmir BazaarReception staff is very helpful

Breakfast: it is not geared to Western tourists/Western types of breakfast. They offer many, many items but it would be better of for the Western tourists, they would focus more on what Western tourists, generally, like for BFRoom: potential visitors should know that all the rooms are around a courtyard that serves as restaurant and where live music and parties take place until 23.00 hrs every night. So until 23.00 hrs it is never quiet.Potential visitors should also know that the courtyard is covered by a big umbrella. The fixtures of that umbrella make a constant noise, especially during the night because Izmir is a seaside town where it often is windy in the evenings/nights. So, this hotel is definitely not a place for light sleepers

Interesting building inside the market with a lively courtyard.

Smokers in the non smoking courtyard

Best location in old city. Just a step from hotel to Kemeralti bazaar. The food was perfect, they also serve Starbucks cofee. They have live music, but they finish till 11p.m., so they dont disturb

    Everything was perfect

    Very central location

Sometimes difficult to find when walking. If you ask for the Agora they send you to the archaeological site.

Super spacious and comfortable (bed, shower, all in general was great) - we even got upgraded which was really nice!Incredibly nice and helpful staff Restaurant in the hotel - convenient when too lazy to go out for dinner - was quite good Airport was relatively easy to access within 50 min (2 metro lines)

Breakfast was ok - nothing too fancy though Had to walk through the fish part of the market to get to the hotel from the main road & can be a bit worrisome to walk in the market at night when all shops are closed

The location is great during the day, pretty bad during the evening and night. Good busy daytime marketplace but dark empty scary back alleys at night.
