Heartland Hotel Glacier Country

The staff at the hotel was wonderful. The manager and the wait staff in the dining room were excellent.

The rooms did not appear to be clean- stained rugs, peeling paint and linoleum, thin mattresses, small holes in the walls.

Option for interconnecting room for a family. Large spacious rooms. Beds comfortable. Easy parking. Central location - walk to local eateries and shops.

Our room was at the front of the property and windows lacking insulation therefore we heard the road noise and birds in the morning very easily!

Small room with kettle and mini fridge, everything was fine. We were on the second floor

The small sink is not very functional, all the water drips down onto the floor.

Great location on the main strip close to restaurants, shops and walking trails. The rooms were comfy and warm. Beds and pillows were great. Basic tea and coffee facilities provided. Soap, shampoo & conditioner provided.

We booked 2 rooms for 2A + 2C 9 months in advance and rooms were not close together. Shower took a long time to drain, so nearly flooded the bathroom.

The room was clean, and the location was good.

The water pressure in the shower was not the best. Also, the facility did not have any microwave, so don't take your leftovers with you. The TV in the room was so old-school that I we couldn't watch anything. So if it's raining and choose to stay indoors, there is nothing for you do do. Our neighbors were also very noisy and banging their doors and talking really loudly from 5 am.

Great location and good shower and bed linen.

It could have been a bit cleaner there were a few hairs left around the bathroom.It was also quite expensive for what it was but I understand it’s about supply and demand.

The room was recently renovated.

No place to put anything away. The blinds did not prevent light penetration. No food available in the restaurant as there was only a set menu for a tour group. No soundproofing between rooms.

Great location. Fox Glacier is a super tiny place but we were directly opposite the HeliHike and next door to the few restaurants in town. Fairly basic accomodation but comfortable bed and clean.

The price. Far more expensive than other motels of similar standards we've stayed in New Zealand but I think that's Fox Glacier rather than just this specific hotel.

Bad!

So overpriced. Dirty fridge, dead bugs, musty smelling sheets and miserable looking staff.

Staff were helpful in trying to solve extractor fan noise from another unit

Very cheap construction so a lot of noise between units - bathroom doors slide and thump each time, water goes cold or scalding depending on how many people showering and the extractor fans are extremely loud between units.

Breakfast was cold both mornings. Restaurant not open for evening meal. NO discount offered.

The location was ideal for our glacier helicopter flight

The parking was an issue. Not enough for all rooms

Location was great - very handy to the helicopter place where we booked our flight over the glacier.

Receptionist quire brusque and had to ask him to repeat his directions etc several times.

Simple full fournished place. Ideal to stay if visiting Fox Glacier. You can also find glow worms by night at a crazy rain forest next to it by night. Magical experience !

The shower pressure and temperature would change drastically, probably when other users were also showering. A sock from previous users was left under the bed
