Wayang Retreat

We stayed in a deluxe bungalow with pool view. The room was comfortable, clean with beautiful interiors. We loved the large bathroom with sky lights and plants. Our friends stayed in the larger bungalow that was beautiful done. Tamie was very helpful and accommodated our needs and requests. The villa is in a less busy area of Canggu with supermarkets and restaurants in walking distance.

This place is a true hidden gem! Staying in a traditional Indo house was such a wonderful experience—it did not disappoint if it's what you after. You’ll wake up to the sound of birds chirping and water flowing, and opening the window truly feels like a home away from home. Relaxing on the porch while your worries melt away makes it all the more special.

The property does not have a fridge inside, you have to use the common area, which is okay as it's a really nice common area surrounded by the fish pond.

Every thing was latterly amazing and the owner is a really nice person , she took care personally of every detail and she contacted us directly providing us all the options of restaurants around the place with google map locations , I will stay there again and again and again

It really does feel like a retreat. Facilities and location was great. Away from the main road so is nice and quiet. Staff was helpful & friendly.

The property was absolutely gorgeous! The shared kitchen was very clean and well equipped. The pool was a dream. Very close to everything but in a very quiet compound. The room itself was cozy. AC works great! The massive bed is soft with good quality linen. The staff…. the nicest most accommodating people ever! Book it!

Great location. Traditional joglo. Well maintained. Great staff. My friend got sick and nothing was too much trouble. Felt safe. Pool area beautiful.

First of all, it was great to use the well-kept garden and clean swimming pool. Although it is quiet in the morning. Sometimes I could hear construction. But I enjoyed it without much inconvenience.The staff were so kind. Thanks to you, I stayed in a good mood

It's not soundproof at all at night, so it's a little uncomfortable to sleep. I used to sleep with AirPods on.

The property is traditional Javanese/Balinese style which is really beautiful. The common living area is also beautiful adjacent to a pool.

Some places like chairs and cushions outside the room and common area needs washing/cleaning. Air conditioning needs to be more powerful.

Everything was beyond exceptional! The room was very big and comfortable, the retreat was very nice, the pool was big and the water was perfect. It was a very nice pleasant place in the heart of Canggu. The host Junior is a very nice guy, you can have great talks with him about everything. Can only recommend this place!

Beautiful property, never too busy. Very friendly staff. The fruit platters were amazing. The pool is beautiful and the garden is very well looked after.

Stunning property hidden from the hustle and bustle of Canggu. With only 7 rooms, it feels like a private oasis. Incredible value for money and the staff are delightful.

Breakfast is very basic and no laundry service. But close to cafes and a great laundry where a bag of clothes cost $1aud to be washed

Amazing little oasis in the middle of Canggu. All of the buildings are situated around a central open air kitchen, lounge and beautiful garden. We loved staying in a place which felt more traditional and so beautifully cared for whilst still having everything we needed a short walk or Grab ride away.Our villa overlooked the pool which was perfect for dipping in and out of on those hot Canggu days. It was beautifully decorated and dark and peaceful at night. The bathroom was enormous and featured a massage table should you wish to arrange an in room massage. Staff are friendly and attentive, making us coffee and fruit platters every morning. Junior in particular was very helpful in organising transport to Nusa Lembongan and the airport with a great driver.

We loved having access to the shared kitchen, would be great to have a small fridge or cooler to keep water cold in our room.

The location of hotel was really easy to reach everywhere. Staff were really kind and friendly. Especially the gardener gentlemen told us where we should go and see around. Room was really cosy and we clean.

Because we didn’t one any insects to come to our room we couldn’t open the windows, that’s why our room was really dark. I would rather to wake up with sun, it would be much better if they put flynet to windows. They were giving only fruit platter for breakfast which is really limited. Our bathroom’s drain wasn’t working very well.

A stunning property with amazing people! Cannot recommend this property enough. The rooms are very special, comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms. The pool is a great place to relax. Staff are all friendly and cannot do enough to help you. A quiet paradise away from the hustle and bustle of Canggu.

The people, the gorgeous property, the excellent location; we loved every minute of the 5 days we spent here.

The spacious indigenous garden, large & clean shared pool and pool view, along with original Indonesian buildings.Also the shared lounge/kitchen area was well equipped.The staff were very friendly and responsive.

The location is in a busy area with lots of traffic and young tourists. However the villas were a quiet retreat from this.
