    Pros +

    • Not great
    • view, breakfast, room size and design
    • We absolutely loved the castle ambiance and rooms were really royal, the spa was lovely and pool really welcome with the August heat! Service is splendid.

    Cons -

    • Food was horrible worst meal ever had given a room next to maid storage kept banging in and out woke me up early so the maid could keep getting stuff only 3 rooms were occupied should had offered us a quieter room offered no compensasion
    • fitness room, air conditioning, no coffee machine, pool
    • Too expensive to what it gives. We ordered room service and had to pay extra charge of 15€. Food quality was poor! Dishes were small and not tasty. Breakfast was standard and worth ~600€ a night.

Amazing place with unusual facility and old royal style decoration. Nice spa facility with many options. Super service oriented spa manager (John) made our stay much better!

What a place, driving from France to Italy for our one night in Italy it was truly special. The hotel is a true castle and made us feel very lucky for staying there. It was a rainy day so after arrival we hauled up in the brick vaulted lobby which felt so cosy and had great service and lots of lovely local wine, beer and nibbles. It was great and we felt truly at home. Our room was vast and vaulted and with a true princess bed it was great and a massive bathroom and terrace. We were quite full after all the lobby time but did have a small dinner and the same lady served us from the lobby, who was really lovely and we could have taken her home with us.

The bed was a bit hard and felt it could do with some updating generally it is quite old fashioned, in a charming way, but some 2024 touches like usb sockets etc wouldn’t go amiss. A rug on the floor and a more streamlined furniture layout, with places to put luggage for two would have been great additions also.

The most amazing spa area, and truly the best masseurs. Wonderful breakfast - a delicious and diverse choice. It's impossible to describe the grandeur, luxury and ambience. Incredibly kind staff. An unforgettable experience.

A beautiful castle with stunning view! Very friendly staff! We enjoyed the stay.

The room is a bit old fashioned.

The hotels over all presence in this small town is one of royalty and grandeur. I felt like I had arrived at a scene out of a James Bond movie. The old world charm is definitely there, billiard room, small hidden bar, old world dining rooms, candelabra, massive fire places and the escape tunnels that take you to the swimming pool and Spa. We wanted a Castle experience, we got it.

My negative, not that its major. When you pay rates at this level I expect not to have to pay extra for my eggs to be cooked to order. Cold boiled eggs or scrambled eggs that looked like they had been in the chafing dish for some time don't cut it. Sorry, yes its minor, but if the hotel can realize that the same raw cost factor is there, the egg, add a little labor & the morning experience would be at another level.

Wonderful hilltop castle with fabulous views, lovely gardens and breakfast terrace. Very helpful and friendly staff. The pool area was a great place to relax and the private use of the wellness area was excellent.

The bed was really uncomfortably hard - like sleeping on a table-top! Surely the news of memory foam mattress toppers has reached even hilltops in Roero by now? The breakfast offered limited choice for healthy eating and at this price level it felt bad form to charge extra for an omelette.

Amazing room and atmosphere. The view is unbelievable!!!

The restaurant not good enough for the cost … trying hard but there is a room for improvement.

Fantastic property great location. Breakfast is the best and served by very friendly staff. Rooms are magnificent in such a historic surrounding

Diner and bar locations are somewhat weird, not a great sense of hospitality, hence many guest moves out. Our room was next to the spa entrance and housekeeping area, not ideal noisy…..

Daytime restaurant staff friendly and accommodating. Spa facilities exceptional. Hotel location amazing.

Evening restaurant staff pompous and self righteous. Would not accommodate our requests.Food was disgusting and raw. Have never known any chef to ruin a courgette. Also fell asleep while waiting for a bottle of wine.Evening reception staff manners leave a great deal to be desired.

Perfect stay in dream castle on top of hill with beautiful scenery around, beautiful cadyle interiors, wonderful spaa, very attentive service, who helped us to find best places around the castle, vast choice of foods for breakfast on a beautiful terrace, couldn't imagine it better, grazie!!

    10StepaPosted on: 9-22-2022

The breakfast buffet was excellent, plenty of choices for every taste. We ate on the terrace and enjoyed the fabulous view.

I thought they could have had more choices on the dinner menu.

Everything else. Location, the castello, the gardens

The dining room. Way too bright, atmosphere was not for us

    8ArnoldPosted on: 8-9-2022

It’s unique, very secured, calm and staff is proactive and very courteous and kind.

For the price, it’s disappointing the wellness facilities are only accessible after 14:00 o’clock. Obviously this has all to do with economics but again, at 600 Euros a night, usually, 5+ star accommodations nowadays are providing full accessibility.

    10OliviaPosted on: 8-3-2022

Really wonderful stay. It is beautiful and the food/dinner was exceptional. Lovely staff (Gabriel in particular who gave us a tour of the wine cellar).

Honestly can’t fault it, but perhaps salt and pepper for the breakfast we had in our room - that’s literally all I can think of.
