Cons -
- Pre arrival process: 1. I sent several emails inquiry before arriving, however, never received any reply.During the stay:1. We had a very bad drainage smell in the room during entire stay, despite them trying to fix it, it never gone. Unfortunately no any room move was offered. 2. Our phone in the room wasn’t working for couple of days despite reminding reception to fix it, it wasn’t done until I sent an email to Guest Relations. 3. Sun beds most of the time were occupied by the other guests who were leaving towels unattended for the entire stay. 4. We stuck in the elevator during power shot down, despite calling for help, nobody could hear us. I started to panic but thanks God was able to open the door by myself. 5. We were requesting for an iron so many times, however, received it only after couple of days late night. 6. No any follow up email was done by Guest Relations team to check if all maintenance was fixed. No any apologies…amenities sent to the room, despite the fact of having phone not working for 2-3 days, and a very bad drainage smell for the entire stay. We had to keep a balcony door open during the night for us to sleep as the smell was very disgusting. And no any welcome amenities arranged even not offered for me to pay for it, because nobody answered my pre arrival email.
- Free access to spa.
- It genuinely pains me that I have to write a review like this, but the experience at this hotel was one of the worst ones I've ever had and I simply need to warn other travelers. First and foremost, the staff is absolutely awful. They take zero accountability, they are unhelpful, rude and disrespectful. When we arrived by car and asked where we could park, the receptionist just said "wherever" (there are lost of hills and we had heavy and big suitcases) no one offered to help us with the suitcases, we had to ask 5 times if a buggy will come and she just kept dismissing us. When the guy on the buggy finally arrived after 20min of us just standing outside, he started rushing us and said he will only take 2 people (we were 4). He was talking over me all the time, raising his voice and he was one of the most unprofessional people I've met in the industry. He wouldn't let me ask a single question and told me to just leave my suitcases in the middle of the street and point which go to which room (we had 2 rooms) and didn't mark them at all. I felt extremely uncomfortable. We booked their most expensive room which was meant to be a PRIVATE villa with our own pool and sea view. The room was dark, the main door was not working and wouldn't lock (very unsafe), the "villa" had a view of a road, their smelly water tanks and an unfinished parking lot and zero privacy. The "villa" next to us had a full view into our pool (more like a dip pool) garden, was extremely loud and the only thing separating us was a little 1m tall cement wall. It smelled like sewage at all times to a point that I couldn't be outside, and the smell was worst around the so called "villas". When I went to talk to the receptionist about this and ask them for some type of help with at least changing the room, they simply told us it's not their fault and offered no help and stated all rooms are booked.

The view is pretty and that was about it.

Property location was excellent. Food was outstanding. Service was overall great. Room was clean and cleaning service was top notch.
Pools were freezing cold as they dont get the sun until noon. Drink service was at times slow, but quality of drink was always good.
The location is amazing. The view is outstanding
Rooms with no hot water or pressure at all with no solution and not even trying to find one or suggesting compensation. We needed to book ourselves a new room. With no body mirror.
First of all, the welcoming staff- every worker we met greeted us with the warmest hospitality and was incredibly helpful. We felt so welcome! Even the welcome drink was great. Then we entered our room, which had been upgraded for us, and we were amazed by the view and the privacy. We loved the design, how spacious the room was, the comfortable bed, and the balcony with its sea view. I had read some mixed reviews before coming and was really pleasantly surprised, it seems they truly make an effort to keep improving. We didn’t encounter any of the issues that were mentioned. We easily booked a table at the Greek restaurant, which was delicious. We never waited more than five minutes to enter the buffet, which also overlooks the sea and offered a great variety of food that changed daily. The bars were great. The private beach is beautiful, and we always found a sunbed. I can’t emphasize enough just how much we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return. Such great value for money!
I understand that smoking is not as restricted in Greece as in other places, but it would have been great if not all open areas allowed it. As non-smokers, we sometimes avoided the terraces at the lounges and restaurants, which could have been really fun to sit at, simply because we were desperate for clean air. It was even harder to avoid smoke at the pool area or on the beach. Since there are two pools, and the beach is naturally separated into two parts by a large rock, I feel it would be easy to create designated smoking areas. That way, non smokers could enjoy fresh air without having to avoid entire spaces and without needing to corner smokers into booths or distant corners.
In general, the hotel is very good and I recommend it. The incredibly beautiful rock with magical energy that overlooks it is truly amazing. I also remember the morning yoga classes, the friendly Russian-speaking bartender (I don't remember her name, either Anastasia or Ekaterina) in the central area near the reception, the variety of food, and the evening performances by musicians.
There are also some improvements that could be made, such as the very small standard room (which does not meet the requirements of a 5-star hotel) with a bathroom that is not separate from the main room. While your partner is lying on the bed, he can see you washing your face and getting out of the shower. I also wish that the hotel offered double-layer toilet paper instead of single-layer paper.
Food in the buffet restaurant (there's really no need to go anywhere else) is excellent. Really comfortable bed. View from the room (ours was in the highest part of the hill so we had a nice view of the bay). Generally speaking, the value for money is good.
The hotel has an external partner that manages add-on services, such as room upgrades. The system they use is really bad; I added a room upgrade to the cart and it was declined at the Payment step (this can easily be fixed in the app by reserving a spot for a short amount of time, similar to what Booking does). When I complained to the hotel, they just said this is handled externally, and even if I want to complain, I can only do so to Booking since I used it to make the reservation. Definitely not a 5* experience. On to the stay itself. The hotel is in the hills and there will be a lot of walking up and down the hill. This isn't good or bad in itself, just something to be aware of beforehand. If you do want to reserve a spot in one of the 2 restaurants (other than the main buffet restaurant), keep in mind you will likely need to book it before you arrive. The rooms are cleaned daily, but I didn't get a sense that floors are vacuumed / cleaned as they remained dirty. The beds were made (but that's less relevant to me personally) and towels changed. Coffee is really bad, everywhere. Ice cream is subpar; just the cheapest store-bought kind. There are lots of bees outside, which isn't great when dining on the terrace. I assume there's a way to handle this. There are two pools; both are relatively small (same goes for the pool inside). The water is too cold. Theoretically, the hotel asks that no one 'reserves' the sunbeds for over an hour by just placing their towels on them, but the reality is that loads of people do it. There was also a rude/loud group that was distrupting everyone, but there's no one to manage this.
Amazing hotel, really worth the money. It is clean, new and the food is amazing and various
Booking recommendation
Where can I start? They gave us the room 30 minutes pass the check-in time, we had ants in our room and on the bed, we ran out of hot water during the shower with very low stream (they had to fix the water pumps), constant stinky sulphate smell in the room, locked safe, empty vanity packs (just the boxes). We informed the management and they didn't even call us back or sorry for any of the above.Poor service, bad value for money even though we stayed in the penthouse room
The value for money is amazing, we booked the most basic room and got a big luxurious one. The food was delicious and you had a lot of variety. All the alcohol was premium and mixed by professionals. Staff was very welcoming.
Everyone on staff was friendly and professional. The food and drinks were great...taste and variety. The room was comfortable with plenty of space, storage and wonderful views. Proximity to the beach was convenient.
The reason for the slightly lower rating for Facilities and Comfort is because there are not enough deck/pool chairs for the amount of people who stay there. You had to stake a claim to a chair before 7am to find a place near a pool. The same held true to the chairs down by the beach. It was disappointing and seemed to foster competitive and rude behavior between guests.
Loved the view and the location on the beach. Also loved the food by the pool with the ice cream. The food was a great variety in the restaurant. Liked how you could sit indoors or outside. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Wish we could have stayed longer it was a very relaxing stay.
Na
It's a beautiful location and a nice looking hotel. The buffet was nice. The views are also stunning.
We booked a junior suite for 2 people. When we arrived we were told the room wasn't ready yet and that we would receive a phone call once it was ready. We never received a call, we went to check ourselves at the reception and then they told us the room was already ready. There were some issues with the electricty due to a storm on the previous day and the first day we kept experiencing outages. The staff wasn't really that friendly or accomodating. We just had to deal with it.The suite was quite small for the price you pay. There is a smoke detector right above the bed that keeps flickering the whole night ruining your sleep. There was a ticking sound in the room when you turn off the AC. We could hear people talk really loud in the corridor. We booked a boat trip with the hotel, that would take the whole day but they just don't give a lot of details or a document with all the details. It was too overpriced and again the customer service was not what it should be for this kind of places. I went to another Ella Resort in Rhodes and the customer service was amazing. One other thing there are a lot of wasps in this area,so you can't sit outside and enjoy your food. There is not really an easy way to get around for a nice walk since you have to keep going uphill/downhill.
Location and the design of hotel. Attention to the details. The view to the sea.
In our room (deluxe) for couple . Little space for storing clothes. Also, a slight sewage smell in the elevator and hallways.
Don’t recommend this hotel to anyone by far the worst experience I’ve had at a hotel. The rooms had a foul mildew smell and if you plan on booking the open plan suite with sea view and pool just know its falsely advertised and the rooms are up a hill with no sea view whatsoever. This was the least of my concerns. As we were opening the bed covers there were bed bugs crawling all over the bed. I reported and showed videos to the reception staff who suggested they send housekeeping to change out the sheets. This is not how you should handle a room infested with bed bugs! They proceed to tell me they had no rooms available and I argued I was not going to be forced to staff in a room in that condition. The hotel was uncooperative and seemed to have not cared. They demanded I sign a disclaimer form in which I didn’t sign as they refused to state the room had bed bugs. As for beach access and pool access don’t recommend this place to someone who may have an issue climbing at an incline. Food was average and not much to choose from.
Mostly Friendly personal however not 100% well trained. Or efficient. Workers at Nafs bar mostly lazy and unfriendly.
- Terrible Sewage smell in the room- Lots of dirty glasses around the swimming pool and bar tables. - Lack or attention to detail. I had to contact reception for lack of toilet paper and clean towels in the room. Had to asked to clean the sand ok the room floor and balcony- 2 swimming pools too small for the amount of guest. I was never able to find a sunbed available. They were all occupied (not just reserved )
Great location, amazing view, very kind staff and also stupendous food with a high variety of choices. The swim-up pool rooms are a great addition and the beach is very nice.
The building itself is not a new construction and this becomes obvious as AC and/or water pressure issues might appear.
I loved the newly renovated design, the relaxing adults-only atmosphere, the friendly and attentive staff, and the excellent food. The pool and beach area were stunning – a perfect place to enjoy Corfu sunshine.
Nothing to complain about, everything was perfect. The only downside was that our stay felt too short – we didn’t want to leave!
