on a scale of 1to10 I would rate our experience an 11. location, staff and food were 4 star!

The grounds are well kept.

Very little support from the staff, you are pretty much left to figure everything out for yourself - including how to get beach towels, what food and drinks are available, how to book excursions and so on. If you don’t have a car you are a captive audience, however there is very little to do (especially in the evening) and the lunch and dinner menus are limited. The bar service was lacklustre and the meals we had were not particularly good. Worst of all, there is no soul to this resort - no joy or charisma. Overall, I was really disappointed with our stay and would not recommend this hotel.

The grounds were beautiful and the breakfast was fantastic. The rooms were a good size for our family of 3. My daughter had her own bed. It wasn’t super crowded so we were able to get beach chairs or pool chairs without a problem.

We didn’t rent a car so to get to off property restaurants or activities we had to taxi. There wasn’t anything really walkable unless you don’t mind a lot of uphill walking. The staff arranged our taxis, but you needed to book your return time in advance. We gave us some buffer time when scheduling our taxis and that worked. However, something to be aware of.

The ocean was beautiful, but there are lots of rocks in the water which can be challenging for children and seniors .

Do NOT stay at this hotel without a car or full board. They told us there were unable to seat us for dinner most nights we were there (and other nights only after 9) leaving us with no option other than a 60 euro car ride to Tropea to eat dinner. For a hotel that is this hard to get to, it’s unfashionable that they can’t serve every guest dinner (especially when they are able to serve breakfast to everyone?)Separately, I booked a car through them to pick us up at the port. No car came. I called the hotel to ask about it and they confirmed they had forgotten to book it, leaving us stranded. When we checked in, there was no apology offered.Also, it’s not a good place to stay in bad weather as there is a runoff from the mountains right next to the beach. This meant the water was full of debris from the mountain, making it impossible to swim for the first few days we were there.I brought all of these issues while I was there and was met with no response.

Everything! It was an absolutely gorgeous resort with wonderful staff.

It’s a family friendly location so there were a lot of kids. Otherwise, we loved everything. There are also only 2 restaurants. Be sure to make dinner reservations in advance!

The location is perfect with access to the beach and parking in the property. It’s 25 min away from Tropea and 35-40 min from Vibo Marina. They did a pretty good job with the amenities. We love the gardens and the decoration. The staff is amazing, always helpful and able to all our needs.

It’s pricy but you will get back what you pay for sure!

We loved a garden surrounding accommodation. It is really beautiful and provides for much needed shade. Breakfast is excellent. Restaurant serving breakfast and lunch is nicely located close to the beach overlooking the sea. Lunch menu is excellent. Fitness area is small but good enough and fitness classes ran by Stefania are amazing and so relaxing. Kids club is great. The hotel has one of the best pools I have seen. Wifi is very good.

I did not like the beach, maybe beacause I was expecting a white sandy beach. There is a bit of sand on the shore where sunbeds are but entry to the sea is rocky. Dinners do not feel very special. I felt more like in a cantine. There is nothing nice to see or gor for a walk nearby. We had a car with us as we were anyway planning to do a few trips and dine in Tropea.

Baia del Sole is a gorgeous property. the grounds are well groomed and the rooms are stylish clean. Exceptional experience all around. One of the best.

Beachfront location (stony beach but it's clean and great for snorkeling). Good sized and clean swimming pool. Good breakfast with varied and quality products. Kids club staff are excellent, even though spoke hardly any English made sure my son was included and involved in all activities.

Only two sunbeds provided per room. Poor dinner options, on theme nights no catering for people with different dietary needs. Extremely expensive for a 4 star hotel (water at bar, beers at bar, lunch). Paid a lot more for room a month and half before trip and then see it heavily discounted closer to departure date. Had to move rooms because toilet didn't work, had to complain about that several times. Only dealt with reception staff as asked to speak to manager but no one ever bothered getting back. I think if you speak fluent Italian, stay there a few nights, pay half the price in terms of room price and love all their theme nights and haven't travelled widely internationally you will have a great time.
