    • My wife and I travel a lot , and we only stay a few days in each place so we stay in many hotels on every trip .We have stayed in good hotels and some that aren’t as good , not very often we find a hotel that I can call special . The Laurin is special , well maintained, clean, well decorated , great Location. The staff is excellent everyone I dealt with was helpful and friendly . When I arrived to check in the young man at the desk stood up and shook my hand to welcome me . When we left the owners or mangers both shook my hand to thank me for staying with them . Every request I had they helped me with ! The room was beautiful, parking on site ! Breakfast was very nice , the people working in breakfast were friendly and helpful as well .
    • A charming and beautiful hotel with wonderful staff and breakfast. Everyone greeted us and made us feel welcome.
    • The cleanliness, the spa, the cigar room - the whole vibe was excellent. Laura who worked in the breakfast & bar was amazing - kind, polite & helpful.

    Cons -

    • I like everything about this hotel !
    • nothing other than it was about a 15 min car ride from the main city of ortesi but still very easily accessible
    • Our room #40 was right next to the elevator and we could hear voices. The room is close to the road and once we opened the window at night we could hear traffic in the morning. During the night it was fine because it's a very quiet road. It was okay for the night we stayed there. However if I'd stay longer I'd ask for a room away from both.

We had the most incredible stay here. The attention to detail was amazing. The facilities were beautiful and very clean, the spa was fabulous to use after a day of hiking. The breakfast was incredible and extensive, it catered to all tastes and requirements. I would like to say all the staff were fantastic and very hospitable. We could not fault anything about our stay - we will be recommending this hotel to all our friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

We had a splendid stay at The Laurin. The room was nice, modern and spacious. The owners were always around and were very friendly and helpful. The staff was very engaged, friendly and supportive. Breakfast was excellent with a huge variety of local ingredients. The wellness and pool are very nice and well equipped. The garden is not too big, but ideal to relax outside. The location of the hotel is perfect to explore the Sella, Seceda and Alpe di Siusi area of the Dolomites. We also got good hiking advice from the hotel staff.

Laurin Small and Charming Hotel truly lives up to its name — and then some. Tucked away like a hidden gem, this family-owned boutique hotel blew us away with its warm hospitality, thoughtful touches, and elevated experience that rivaled any 5-star resort we’ve ever stayed in.From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. We had planned to head to Ortisei for the cable car and not only did the staff provide clear directions, they also handed us complimentary bus passes and a handful of local tips that made all the difference. The next morning, they remembered us and followed up on our plans at breakfast — a small but incredibly thoughtful gesture that you simply won’t find at a chain hotel.Speaking of breakfast… it was glorious. A stunning spread awaited us each morning, featuring what felt like 24 different types of marmalades, locally sourced eggs, fresh breads, and everything beautifully presented. Every bite felt intentional and delicious.Another standout was their welcome aperitivo night — a lovely and unexpected surprise. They served prosecco and small bites to encourage guests to mingle with one another and the hosts. It made the experience feel even more personal and special. The hotel itself is the perfect balance of modern and cozy. It was impeccably clean, stylishly updated, and yet still retained that homey, welcoming feel that only a small family-run hotel can offer. In short, we felt completely spoiled — like we were staying at a luxury hotel but at a very reasonable price. Laurin is a rare find, and we feel lucky to have stumbled upon it. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Family owned and managed. This is a great and charming hotel in the Dolomites. Looking forward to go back during the winter!

The hotel has a great location. It's only a 7 to 10 min walk to the main square. Shops, restaurants and Gondolas are close. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. We heard them converse in 3 languages Italian, German and English. Our deluxe room was spacious and had a small balcony. The beds were very comfy and we slept well. The breakfast is amazing. Usually, I'm not a big breakfast person but there are so many delicious treats to choose from you want to try it all. We are lactose intolerant and they have a different milk-alternatives to choose from. We enjoyed the sauna and pool area which are a wonderful relaxing way after a long hike. They have a pool table and we'd have played if we'd have more time.

Great location. Breakfasts were superb. Room was very clean.

The owners were very rude to us when we arrived. We (me, my wife and four month old baby) arrived after a 5 hour journey during which the baby cried the whole way. The owners tried to make us pay extra on arrival. There was some confusion because the owner wanted to reassign us a larger more expensive room because we had a baby. They wanted us to pay c.60 euros a night more for a larger room and they would provide a travel cot - this was despite the fact the room we were assigned easily had space for our own travel cot. There had been a misunderstanding with the booking system which had assigned us a room for two adults because our baby was under two years old. The owner quickly became irate and shouted. Eventually the owner decided to let us stay in the original room we were assigned. Unfortunately our baby then vomited on her bed sheets. My wife asked a member of the cleaning staff for a bed sheet, which was provided. We were then surprised when the owner’s son followed my wife down the corridor and took the sheet from her hands and said aggressively that we could not have it as we had not paid for a family room. We had to wash our baby’s bed sheet in the sink and try and dry it. Our baby used a pillow case as a bed sheet for the first night. The owners’ son eventually apologised for his behaviour, but did not provide a bed sheet for our baby. Thankfully, the owners became much more pleasant after the first night and we had an enjoyable stay. We could really have done without the aggressive, rude behaviour when we arrived, and especially the son’s behaviour, which further compounded our sense of not feeling welcome.

Great stay in a beautiful town, easy (free) parking. Beautiful swimming pool and spa and amazing breakfast. And the staff were very nice.

Comfortable room - good size, excellent view; wonderful bar area for afternoon relaxing with coffee tea or a drink. Warm welcome from staff who were unfailingly helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Brilliant, varied and high quality breakfast- a definite highlight.

Nothing. Our only quibble was that the (quality) bedding was too warm. It would have been good to make a cup of tea in our room.

Location, facilities and owners & staff were excellent!

This family owned hotel, left the best impression of all the hotels we stayed on our trip to Dolomites! Every space in this hotel was beautifully appointed, and attention to details left an impression on us. Not only was it definitely charming but it was lavish, stylish and modern. Service was over-the-top exceptional, every day! Whenever we had an inquiry, not only did they try to help, but they would get on the phone and make calls for us to facilitate our stay, reducing our anxiety in an unfamiliar place. Everytime we returned from an excursion, they were intent on knowing our experiences and providing advice for the next day's excursions. The breakfast service in the beautiful breakfast room was much better than we experienced anywhere. The attendants welcomed us every morning with smiles, enthusiam and sincere concern with regards to our needs. We were amazed they always knew our names, and what language to speak. Everyone is multi-lingual! In addition to the incredible buffet, they took special orders for the kitchen to prepare eggs for us and took coffee and tea orders too, bringing us pots of coffee. The spa area was beautiful and they provided thick dark gray plush velour robes and slippers during our stay to wear to the spa area. The fitness room was modern, with updated equipment and free weights! One night it was late since we spent our whole day hiking and lost track of time, so restaurants were closing and it was raining. We were carrying a leftover calzone to the bar to get a drink with it. The owners offered to heat it up for us in the toaster oven! They presented it on a real plate with silverware and napkins, and the beers we ordered, while we sat in their beautiful upscale restuarant that was closed for the summer. It never mattered how we were dressed or our situation, we were treated like royalty every moment we stayed there. We will definitely return to The Laurin if we are ever in the area again!!

The staff are so friendly and helpful. The aperitif and breakfast were amazing. The pool table was fun!

The only thing I didn’t like was that our room was next to the road so quite noisy.

    9TessaPosted on: 9-4-2024

Amazing service, the family running the hotel are fantastic and bring such a personal feeling to the whole stay. I would highly recommend this hotel as a place to stay, great spa facilities and very clean everywhere. So much care is taken in everything and they are excellent hosts. Brilliant breakfast also!

Only small compliant was we found it expensive to charge 50 euros to us a cot per night compared to other hotels when this is normally included or a much lower additional cost. There was also no coffee machine, kettle, or fridge in the room, but they happily leant us a mini fridge for our stay.
