Anastasia Hotel Stalis by GHH

Location is about 5-7 minutes walk to the beach, 10 min if you go very slowly. Access is convenient. They have underpass under busy road and then you walk trough another hotel grounds. Quite beautiful. Beach itself is long and sandy, clear water, with restaurants along the shore. Overall, quite nice if you are looking for beach/ pool vacation. Hotel itself is very clean, has good and efficient staff, we got half board ( breakfast and dinner). Its a 3 star hotel, so don't expect endless buffet, food is on the simpler side and prepared simply and to my taste lacks spices. I found it a bit strange that no water or any drinks was served during the dinner, you could bring your own or order a cocktail from the bar. However we always found something to eat. Staff very very efficient and courteous, and tables were cleaned promptly. Pricewise it is a great value. We found our stay was pleasant.

No water/ juice during dinner. No sauces during breakfast.

Very nice pools, good evening entertainment (karaoke, Greek Night), nice mini-golf for kids. The location is nice, if come with your vehicle. Air Conditioner in every room. Covered parking outside.

No Wifi in the room, only in the main building (reception, restaurant).You must buy water for dinner, can't bring your own with you.There is always enough food, but the variety sometimes could be better.

The hotel is amazing the staff very helpful the food is wonderful the bar food is the best I have ever had and I have been going to create for twenty years and it is well priced I took my mum 3 weeks ago and she loved it and if she liked it must be good I will definitely be going back thanks for the best holiday s ever

The food was so so tasty. Lots of options we were very happy with it and so we're the children. Great menus for lunchtime too if you wanted to eat at hotel. The water for the room was super value 2.50 euro for 6 big bottles . The air con was amazing. Free and needed ! Other facilities really good. Pools were expetionally clean and well maintained. As were sun loungers and so glad they had parasols as was very hot for children so they were needed ! Loved the mini sun pounders for children too . Entertainment was good shame about no mini disco for kids though .Grounds are absolutely stunning. Gorgeous views of the mountains too ! We had an amazing time highly recommended.

Maybe a playground accessible to everyone rather then just the 3 euro per child for kids club during the hours only. Wasn't a big deal at all , but did think the advertisement was a little misleading for that so just to be aware :)

The swimming pool was very clean and the food provided at the breakfast was of good quality. Iliked, with my children the possibility of playing ping pong and billiard

The hotel has nice big garden. The pool area was nice. There was a show program in the evening. Has a big parking.

Very old rooms, the television was from the past century. Very poor food variety at breakfast and dinner, small buffet. Food was not very tasty

Very kind and helpful staff, ready to accommodate. The buffet was very good.

Wifi did not reach the room. Not a big deal, but we suggest to install some wifi extenders throughout the property.

A very nice hotel. The staff are very friendly. The beach is not far away. Everything was perfect. The hôtel even has a buffet restaurant.

The bed. We were there for 15 days and the bed it was too hard.

Not much, staff seemed a little stressed out during rush-hours, but can't blame them.

We were lucky to get a good room with lovely views. The meals were good enough. The place is generally OK for that price, but I would not return here again and would prefer to try other hotels.

Always dirty plates. The lack of wifi in the rooms is nonsense for 2024 (at the same time, I knew it would be the issue from the description). Personal does not pay much attention to keeping the place organized, functional, and warm. The way to the beach is moderate and not very convenient.

The property is quite well placed at the Eastern end of Stalis and therefore close to Malia. There is a good deal of mature and varied plant life with flowering bushes and vines. The Hotel is not compact but everything is only a couple of minutes’ walk away. There is no rush or early rising necessary for loungers. We were on a B&B board basis so I can only speak for the breakfast which again was varied and plentiful with hot and cold choices. The 3G pitch was particularly welcome for my son and I. The staff are very helpful and responsive- the more you engage with them the more they return and there is opportunity to build friendships: I can see why people choose to return.

There a few different types of lounger and some seem pretty new. I’m not sure they’ve chosen wisely with the newer metal ones as they are dark and became extremely hot. The WiFi is hit and miss - it is better poolside but at our room it was weak and slow. I know many will say that’s not a crucial part of a holiday but when you need to be connected for whatever reason it’s limiting. There has been the addition of some netting on the balcony railings. Apparently it is something to do with some no doubt new legislation about children. However the netting has been attached with cable ties and they have not been trimmed very well so sharps bits of plastic protrude. It’s a quick fix so hopefully the hotel will read this and remedy it soon.

Really friendly atmosphere! Exceptional reception staff (I can’t remember the 2 ladies names, but they were SO nice and very helpful!!) Great breakfast selection and clean bedrooms :)

Definitely an older crowd (but not sure if that’s because I went in May) (I’m only 33)

A couple swimming pools to choose from. 24/7 reception.

The room was old, some equipment was broken or not working. The beds were terrible. The food was ok, nothing impressive but you could find something to eat. The time between breakfast and dinner were looong, forcing you to go out for a lunch or get some solid snacks to make it. The hotel was mainly occupied by Brits and Germans and it was either seniors or jungster, who obviously go to party. In theory they mention this is a family hotel, but you don't feel that. We had some teens drinking and screeming by our room every day until midnight. Also, there are some activities in the evening, but it starts at 10pm. It's quite tricky to put children to bed when there is loud music and somebody talking on microphone that late.

It was a budget friendly hotel. Room was big and facilities were good.

Wifi connection was very poor at my hotel room. Dishes was not really clean there was some smell on the coffee cups.

Wifi was not available in our room, the toilet needs replacing and it needs multiple presses of the flush button to achieve any sort of flush. Mattress was hard and uncomfortable, fixtures were dated and appeared quite worn.

The facilities were amazing and it was well priced.

The wifi did not reach our room, but we spent majority of our time by the pool which had wifi so it was okay.
