Pros +
- Clean onsen and room. We had lakeside view and it was just across the street to walk around the lake. Shuttle is free (from Kawaguchiko station after 230) and from hotel in mornings. Dinner was multicolor Japanese courses. Would recommend.
- The kaiseki dinner was an experience.
- The room was very spacious for us who live in the United States. It was traditional and cozy even on cold days. Dinner and breakfast is offered if you'd like it. Walking the neighborhood was easy and felt safe.
Cons -
- Nothing. It's a quiet area.
- Maybe it was because I am not use to being out of my home country, but the dinner and breakfast offered was massive, and mainly seafood. They put you in for a time slot for meals and you find out what you are eating when you get there.
- It was kind of far from convenient store, so make sure you stock up, or better yet, order the half board the one with dinner.

I love this place so much! The food was great, the hotel staff were charming and helpful. And the location, mount Fuji on the deck during sunrise, so beautiful! Oh.. and the private spring water in my room was so invigorating ❤️

We liked how the staff showed us to our room. The park and lake near the hotel were beautiful. The viewing platform on the roof of the hotel was very nice. I liked the onsen facilities. The shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko Station is very nice, but I wish the evening times ran a bit later. The staff was friendly.
During our 2 night stay we could not get one reservation in the attached restaurant and when we could see the restaurant from the outside it never looked full (I will admit that I only asked a few days in advance). The area isn’t really “walkable” but we were able to find great restaurants further away from the hotel or near the station, and then taxi back to the hotel. I understand that it is more of a traditional hotel, but some coffee in the room would be lovely. On our last night there, we killed a cockroach in the hallway.
Staff was very helpful and check in was easy. Onsen was nice, overlooking Lake Kawaguchiko. Ample parking.
We had the traditional dinner the night we stayed and it was very good. Had a great view of Mt. Fuji. Staff was very helpful and kind. I accidentally put a meme in my review photos and it won’t let me take it out, sorry.
Wasn’t sure where to hang a wet towel, probably just a cultural difference. Futons weren’t the most comfortable, but I’m used to sleeping on a mattress and I sleep on my side. I’m sure it’s comfortable for people who sleep on their back.
The staffs were very attentive. The open-aired onsens were really good which there will switch side so both men and women get to enjoy both sides of the views. The location was a bit away from everything but we traveled by car so it’s fine. The staff helped us melted the ice on the car windows every morning. They spoke English well we didn’t have any miscommunication while we stay.I also loved a free massage chair in front of the onsensThe room was very spacious we can open two 30” luggages at the same time and still walking around with the table to sit in the center just fine.
We booked an indoor onsen lake view room but unfortunately it can be seen from the outside so we had to close the blinds all the time. We book western style beds. The beds were a bit uncomfortable
The hotel is right next to Lake Kawaguchi so it's very quiet. Right when we arrived the front desk clerk took great care in reviewing the room we had booked and detailing the hotel's amenities. Our bags were taken to our room and our attendant showed us around our room including how to operate the private tub we had on our balcony. Service at this facility rivals the Ritz Carlton. However, the best part of our stay was the breathtaking view of Mount Fuji from the balcony in our room making every penny of the room cost worth it.
Being in a quiet area of Mount Fuji there's not much around the hotel within walking distance. Also, our room had our shower outside on the balcony so showering was not an option for us when it was 40 degrees at night. Since we only stayed for 1 night it wasn't as big a deal but would have been if we stayed for longer.
The View from our room was great. Mt Fuji right at your balcony. The hot bath on the deck was a nice addition too.
It's a little out of the way for restaurants etc. We were able to walk about 20min to find local food places. We probably misunderstood how traditionally Japanese this hotel is. Not that it's a bad thing but you need to be prepared for a thin mattress on the floor and very traditional Japanese food.
Fantastic location. Beautiful baths. Amazing food.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was much larger in person, which was nice to experience. The lake was in very close proximity. Had the weather been better, it would have been a beautiful view!
We inadvertently didn't purchase the breakfast option with our room. When we inquired about paying in-person, the amount far exceeded the website. Not a deal breaker, but a bummer :(
Good location for a view of the lake and nice walking around the lake shore. Green Line bus stop for sightseeing is near the hotel. If the weather is clear, there is a good view of Mt. Fuji from a viewing platform on top of the hotel. Hotel gave us a 1 hour late check-out and a shuttle to the station after normal service hours.
Room was not properly cleaned. Very dusty surfaces. Also onsen bath was very cold. Staff had to come and adjust water flows. Two sinks with two taps- both taps were not secured to the counter top. Again we had to call staff to fix. How could the cleaning staff not advise them. Food was only mediocre. There are no shops or restaurants near the hotel and even after a 2 Km walk very limited choices. Too many tourists everywhere. Especially near the train/bust station. So crowded and no one has any politeness. As a destination, primarily to see Mt Fuji, it does not make sense because of the crowds.
Incredible view and location. The Japanese-style room with the private onsen was suberb. Even without the private bath, the public baths were so nice, clean, and relaxing-- I looked forward to using them every day.
Dinner and breakfast were outstanding, we also had a wonderful view on the lake, the onsen were nice
Hotel was a bit older than expected and we did not have any view from the onsen.. though there is one private onsen with Mount Fuji view but we did not try it. As we had to pay per person, this hotel was relatively expensive for a family of 4.
Excellent hotel, room was very spacious and comfortable. The ofuro was very relaxing with a view of the Mount Fuji, and we were lucky it was visible. Dinner was delicious, with plenty of fish, seafood and traditional Japanese dishes. Breakfast had a more western vibe with omelette, bacon and sausage among other things. Staff was very caring, we used the shuttle coming and going to Kawaguchiko station, so everything was smooth. Location was also nice, right in front of the lake and Yagizaku park.
The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The public onsen was clean and the private onsen was a nice option. The shuttle to and from the hotel to Kawaguchiko station was convenient. The breakfast and dinner was plentiful and a great opportunity to try traditional Japanese food.
Hotel is a bit outdated but it was well maintained and clean. Beds could be more comfortable.
Open air bath in room, large rooms, wonderfully attentive staff
I think better options for food or food delivery would be nice, it’s a little hard getting food after hours, and could be booking.coms fault but they don’t mention dinner needs to be reserved until after.
Great location right near Lake Kawaguchi, making it really easy to explore the surroundings. We traveled by car, and the free car park right out the front was very convenient. The outside bath with views of Mt Fuji was exceptional. The public onsen facilities were really nice. The private onsen available to book was also lovely and reasonably priced. The daily breakfast was amazing, each morning the meals differed so it was exciting to see what we got. The staff were lovely.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The beds were not comfortable. Springs stuck up into my back. There was some mold in the bathtub area.
