Villa Smetana Spa & Wellness Resort

Dinner was well diverse and really tasty, wellness area was enough for the number of the guests, staff was really nice; overall, we liked the place and added to our favorites :)

Pillows weren't comfy enough, it can be improved/replaced, breakfast didn't meet our expectations

Breakfast was excellent. Friday night live music was great and so much fun. Front desk staff was very helpful. Beautiful Russian Orthodox Church was just a few minutes walk away.

Parking was small and difficult. A bit of a long walk to city center, and especially so on the return up hill trip.

The hotel is located very close to the beautiful Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral and within a 10-minute walk of the city center. Guests should reconsider walking with their luggage on foot, since it's located on a small hill (talking from experience).Breakfast was good and pretty diverse.Shower was great.

- Most of the spa staff don't really speak English, which might create some awkward situations during massage treatments. Also, there are not enough instructions on how the treatment and booking procedures go.- Bed was quite narrow, though comfy enough.

Everything was absolutely great! Location, staff, the facilities and the food. The building itself is amazing too.

The hotel is situated not far from the city Center. We were able to reach all the sights we wanted to visit. The service was also great, the food was excellent and we could get extra stuff, we needed. Administrator speaks a lot of languages, that makes the communication easier.

The staff was extremely helpful! They even bought me breakfast when I fell sick. The hotel is well-kept and at least I didn't hear any noises during the night.

cakes for dinner were terrible, it was cut hours before dinner and got dry, smelled after fridge. We stayed 6 days and asked for cleaning after the 3rd night, but cleaning only included emptying the bins, no bed change nothing else,

Poor service. Breakfast and dinner need to be taken in the first hour otherwise you can have only what is left. Spa very crowded. Welcome drink only a cheap prosecco, even water is no option. Expensive.

The staff didn’t speak English, and was very unpleasant.None of our request, even to get a new towel, was fulfilled.

Good breakfast and even better dinner, with many options. Staff was very nice and spoke Czech, German, Russian, and receptionists also spoke English. Room was large and no problems with the heating and water pressure. Bed was comfortable. The relax package was organized and well thought out and the procedures were relaxing. Robes were good quality and they have separate towels for showers and spa activities. Lobby bar had a variety of cocktails and other drinks for a good price. Mini fridge was also reasonable priced. Free drink of Prosecco or juice upon arrival.

WiFi never worked in the room, only in select areas on the first floor. No coffee machine in the room. Would recommend to bring your own slippers since the ones they provide fall apart easily and are almost as thin as paper. Spa facilities are small so while it was not an issue during the week, it can get crowded on weekends. There was also always a puddle of water all around the spa area. Water in the hot tub, pool, and mineral bath could have all been hotter. No place to relax and read a book by the pool or spa. Big complaint of ours was the spa procedures were scheduled before arrival without any say from the guest about time preferences. Bar closes early at 21:00. No late checkout possibility. Low level of English among the workers besides the receptionist, so keep in mind while booking!

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. It’s very nice, clean, and has a charming atmosphere. The rooms are cozy and spacious, the staff is friendly, and the breakfast is great and varied. We also enjoyed the nice spa area, especially the whirlpool. The surroundings are quiet, with a forest nearby.We stayed in the Annex building, so we had to walk to the main building nearby for the spa and breakfast, but we were aware of this in advance, so it wasn’t a problem. The villa is situated at the top of a hill, so reaching it from the center may be bit challenging for some due to the many stairs. However, it wasn’t an issue for us.

I enjoyed my stay at Villa Smetana very much as the Villa is close to the main attractions of beautiful Karlovy Vary. The facilities are clean and peaceful with indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and saunas. Nutritious and delicious breakfasts and dinners are provided and included to my stay. It was a perfect place to relax, recharge and rejuvenate. Highly recommend!

The buffet both for breakfast and dinner was rich and diverse. We also liked the spa area. The staff was friendly and helpful, when we asked them for additional towels, they were delivered to our room almost immediately.

Our room was located in a different building than the spa area, so when we wanted to go there, we had to walk 50 meters in bathrobes in the cold. They might want to consider investing in a heated tunnel. Furthermore, many spa treatments that are advised on a website were not available for booking during the time of our stay.

The receptionist Pavel was awesome! Sheets were smooth and the wellness area better than the pictures would have let us hope for. :)

Characterful building with comfortable rooms. Buffet meals in the hotel dinning room. Spa facilities. Excellent value for money.

Having to go outside to get to the main buildings housing the spa and restaurant from the annex where my room was.

It’s location was great

You have to pay for parking pretty decent money even though the hotel has it’s own car park. The room was lacking some basic equipment like cattle to make a tea or coffee. I only wanted my room to be cleaned once during my stay and the cleaning lady didn’t change the towels and left dirty glasses on my table.

Beautiful old building, has real atmosphere! Very comfy mattress and a big airy room. Plentiful buffet breakfast & dinner and nice service in the restaurant (I’m vegan and they always would get/make something for me). Halfboard is the way to go!

The head nurse was rude. My brother had a terrible massage. The spa section had water everywhere as drainage didn’t work well.
