    Pros +

    • The hotel rooms are in small villas (more precisely, each room is a villa), all the buildings are in a large tropical garden with palm trees, statues, ponds and many fish. This gives the hotel its charm. The pool is large enough, both at the pool and on the beach you can always find free good quality sun loungers. Rich breakfast. Theoretically it opens at 7:30, so those who go on excursions could miss breakfast. Practically, from 7 o'clock you can go to the restaurant.
    • The location was peaceful but so close to everything. The beach was amazing and quiet. The layout of the hotel was great and provided privacy in a beautiful setting
    • Very quiet, on-site restaurant was good, the property was beautiful. Staff was also very friendly and helpful.

    Cons -

    • The lunch and dinner menu contains too few European dishes, for example grills (pork, beef, chicken), mashed potatoes missing. They only have grilled chicken breast which (in my opinion) is not well prepared. I tried to order fish but the menu information was confusing regarding weight and garnish. Next to the hotel is a restaurant with much lower prices that serves several European dishes, obviously, along with Thai ones. Regarding the room (we stayed in 301), I was surprised to notice that each guest has exactly one hanger. It's unnatural.
    • Some sitting area on the beach would be nice.
    • The shower was in bad condition and the WiFi was horrible. It was spotty at best, and local cell phone reception was also very poor. WiFi disconnected after a certain time and you had to re-enter the WiFi name and password each time you wanted to log back in. And it would sometimes drop your connection if your device went to sleep. The rooms also had no USB charging options. The location itself was far from the active parts of the island so if you wanted to do some shopping or enjoy the nightlife, it would require frequent taxi rides or bike/car rentals. Nearby the resort, there was not much to do within walking distance.

Beautiful hotel right on the beach. Each of the rooms separated by a walkway through jungle planting. A quiet location away from the main Lamai town.

The sea in this area was very rough while we were there, other areas of the beach and other beaches were calmer and more protected. Was a good half an hour walk either along the beach or on a main road to reach the shopping and restaurant area. But plenty of Songtaws going past to give you a lift back later.

Friendly staff, the sun terrace and great beach

Nothing (the beds are a bit hard, but that's Thailand)

    10MelvinPosted on: 4-6-2025

Excellent resort design of gardens and building. Plenty of space. Location is excellent in all respects. Say Yes to this resort and you will have a lovely time relaxing by the sea.

    6MariannePosted on: 3-29-2025

The room and bathroom were good. Staff very helpful and resolved problems efficiently.

Not suitable for families with children who want a beach holiday as it is narrow and waves much higher than we experienced further along Llamai beach. Layout of resort not very sociable due to design but beautiful plants and fish-enriched streams either side of zig zag path. Sun beds were set out in rows and very close together. With regard to the accommodation, there were minimal facilities for hanging clothes and, especially wet clothes.

Beautiful territory , nice pool, good breakfast. The rummana suites are excellent. Excellent bar service

Location is on the far end of lamai and not within walking distance to the center or Main Street. Spa is available but needs to be booked way in advance as the therapists are booked externally. Some restaurant staff didn’t speak English.

Lovely cottages, very clean, beautiful gardens. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Nice restaurant with really good food, bar and pool area right on the beach. Really good restaurant just across the road, the Lucky Elephant, it had great food and friendly staff.

Not much. If you are in a cottage near the restaurant you'll have a fair walk to reception/entrance and vice versa so something to bear in mind if you're less mobile. It's a taxi ride into Lamai centre but there are a few good restaurants nearby.

We stayed for one night. The room was very clean and quite comfortable, with a nice, large bathroom. Two bottles of water for free, beach towels are provided by the pool and can be changed. The staff are very nice, smiling and trying to make your stay better. You can feel the genuine friendliness. The reception helped with a taxi and with checking in two hours early (just fantastic!).There is a beach, but during our stay there were waves and wind. People were swimming, but we did not risk it. There are sunbeds on the beach, but without an umbrella. In general, it is ok, since the sunbeds with an umbrella are located by the pool 10 meters away. There are a lot of useful places around, restaurants, 7-11, and a big stores. There are all kinds of massages nearby (if you know what I mean ;)). Overall, I can recommend it. I give it another plus point for the kittens on the property and the beautiful fish along the path in the ponds.

At breakfast, espresso is only available for an extra fee. And it's not tasty. The omelette was oversalted and even after asking to make a second one without salt it was still too salty. Some of the umbrellas near the sun loungers by the pool are not stable. When one of them fell on my wife, no one from the staff helped her. At night, walking along the path along the buildings can be uncomfortable; I didn’t have enough light.

We loved our stay at the Rummana, it was absolutely perfect! The room was lovely, spacious and clean with all the things you need. The pool area was beautiful and the garden setting was just amazing, so lush and well maintained. Fabulous breakfast buffet every day. A special mention to the wonderful staff, they are the best! When we come back to Samui this is where we’ll will be staying for sure ?

very good location i quiet part of Lamai, close to Makro, 7eleven and other shops, fantastic massages nearby and lot of restaruant with good ratio price/quality

sea in for swimmers only, not for children in that part of Lamai.

    10MarkPosted on: 2-10-2025

Quiet and very relaxed location - just what we were looking for. Our villa was private and conveniently located close to the swimming pool, bar, restaurant and beach. Plenty of bars and places to eat were a short walk along the beach. There were also some good restaurants close by for the evenings.

    10SusanPosted on: 1-26-2025

The most quaint little hotel in Lamai set in a beautiful beach front location. The rooms are set in the most wonderful grounds with fish and frogs to keep you company! The service provided was exceptional, all the staff were fantastic and an absolute credit to the hotel. We would highly recommend this hotel!

Having to leave after the most wonderful stay!

    All ok, but

Staff were not! - accused us of not paying for 2 coffees - later, staff member apologised but too late.Internet connection dropped out all the time so we had to keep logging in to reconnect - drove us mad

Lovely resort, always being cleaned and taken care of. Staff were really friendly and helpful and the location was great! Also had food at the onsite restaurant and it was always really good.

Great tropical themed location, really tranquil.

Really picky, but some areas could have been cleaner (ie around the shower enclosure, better quality towels) but on the most part, it was great.
