- Staying at Moritsubetsu was one of our highlights during our five week holiday in Japan. This quaint, traditional little inn was within walking distance to the beautiful forest bathing areas nearby and within driving distance to Akan Mashu. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the common areas were warm and welcoming. The rooms were clean, and the beds comfortable. The meals were outstanding. We felt so spoiled staying in this little gem in the forest. We stayed two nights, and wished we could have stayed longer.

- I loved almost everything about this place - how it’s tucked away in nature, it’s quiet, there’s onsens, spacious rooms, friendly, polite and helpful staff, cute stuffed animals for sale…
Cons -
- Everything was wonderful!
- It was just a little too far from the nearest restaurant. I didn’t have a dinner included with my stay but in hindsight, I should’ve just gotten the dinner package instead of doing a la carte in the hotel’s restaurant. The food was good but the menu was a bit limited…
- We came with our car so this was not our problem, but it's hard to get here if without one.

The onsen came with different tubs of different water temperature with a private outdoor section. The restaurant offers splendid fine cuisine that you order about a week before arrival. The staff was professional, friendly and extremely heartwarming.

Everything was perfect! The hotel is located in the middle of the forest with walking paths around it. Great onsen with inside and outdoor pools. Food was amazing
Have a nice walking trail near hotel. Very near to nature, animals and woods. Awesome experience
