This hotel is simply superb! It is big and spacious. Located in the middle of nowhere, that is in the Akan-Mashu National Park on the shore of the Kussharo Lake, it includes plenty of attractions for guests to stay on its premises. A game arcade, karaoke rooms, a convenience store, wooden chairs in the backyard... It is an easy ride to local lakes and hiking trails. The room was big, modern, well equipped, clean. The majority of staff spoke English, everyone was super kind and helpful. Dinner and breakfast buffets, although pricey, were amaizng, versatile, delicious. We had an amazing stay there.

    Everything was great.:)

Grand dining room, older but big spa, typical smaller rooms and very helpful staff.

    Everything was comfortable.

nice location on the lake, nice room

too expensive breakfast, no other options in the area

    9CeliaPosted on: 8-22-2024

The room was a good size with a lovely view over Lake Kussharo. The set dinner menu provided delicious options.

Although our room was clean and comfortable, the carpet was stained and worn in quite a few places. The outdoor onsen looked out onto a mostly bare uninteresting courtyard.

No lake view rooms below 4th floor

When booking, all rooms were advertised as having a lake view, but the room on the 3rd floor had no lake view because tall trees were blocking it.The olny reason I booked the hotel was lake view and I was very disappointed. I called the information but they don't speak English.Booking.com has to inform that rooms over 5th floor have lake view.

    6sandraPosted on: 8-4-2024

The hotel is right in the lake so has wonderful lake views. However, rooms are alittle old. Needs an update

    9YulingPosted on: 7-27-2024

I like the onsen. The hotel also had a lot of facilities like laundry, shop, arcade, table tennis and karaoke rooms (I only used the shop and laundry machines). The room had a fantastic view of the lake too. It was also possible to head down to the lake in the backyard of the hotel.

    Decoration seemed a bit outdated.

Located by the lake, beautiful. Comfortable and the staff are hospitable.

Other than the restaurant and the thrift shop, the nearest eating location is far away.

    6NoaPosted on: 8-10-2023

I guess it has what you need, and it's clean. The breakfast is generous with allergens marked, and has relatively many gluten free options

I felt it was a bit expensive for what you get. The rooms are very basic and not very pretty, the onsen is large but feels neglected - I mean, there is a place for a garden next to it but it's just empty - and there are just the two baths, inside and out (no sauna, so cold bath etc).

    5SimPosted on: 7-14-2023

For the price paid, expect at least a much cleaner bathroom

Tiolet were old. Long bath drainage were not working/ draining well causing a flood. Sliding shower screen were dirty with lots of black deposits. Light were too dim in the toilet.Bed spread do not seem wash were placed over of the comforter instead of bedsheet. It is uncomfortable to sleep with bed spread over comforter.

The food at Kussharo Prince hotel was superb. Much of it prepared on the spot! The quantity and quality of food was excellent and the coffee was top notch. On a side note, the staff, especially Ms. Migura Morita were super helpful. I asked about train travel and bus service to travel to Chitose Airport. She provided me with a precise stop by stop schedule with train names/numbers that took me to my destination on time as planned.

My only gripe about this hotel was the wifi was fine in the room and front sitting area, but when you went into the dining room it did not function. That is a good option when you are with family or a group, but when traveling alone having wifi while you eat your meals can be nice.

    7FernandoPosted on: 7-1-2023

the hotel is located near the lake and if you're lucky you can get rooms with amazing views. The onsen is ok

When checking out, they asked me to pay some sort of bath tax which it took me by surprise, and I didn't see mentioned anywhereThe restaurant is only opened for breakfast or dinner, so you can't just have a coffee or something in between those times

    9HaniePosted on: 10-30-2022

The location was stunning. it is located in the most beautiful spot in the area. The breakfast was very good and worthy of price. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and were able to communicate in English. It has a convenient store in the basement. In total, we loved it.

the beds and pillows were not as comfortable as expected for this hotel and could be improved. The convenient store did not have all the necessary items. The variety of foods at dinners was not good for us especially with this high price.

It's one of the few hotels at Lake Kussharo. The room was of decent size and quality. There's not much around, you're pretty much tied to the hotel facilities. I can't tell about dinner as I had one before I arrived but the breakfast buffet was good, also regarding mix of Japanese and Western options.

Oldie but goodie. No doubt for the cleanliness. Japanese standard. Huge room, wonderful view. Parking lot also large but when it’s full and you feel tired. It’s a bit walking distance. Very recommended.

Came around 20:05 after driving 300ish km. Apparently there’s no room service from the restaurant and it’s closed at 8 pm. I need to drive 20 km one way to get the closest kombini(convenience store-seikomart). 40 km return. Pls buy food if you happen to check in a bit late.
