Pros +
- Property is good. But the spa can be even better. I did the facials and it was just okay according to the price. Food was great. We loved the breakfast and the dinner at the armory restaurant. Food was delicious. Overall a wonderful experience at the Brunton boatyard. Jasmine was very polite, friendly and very helpful.
- Right from the start, CGH makes you feel welcome. Their hospitality compares, if not excels, what you would find at a Taj property, and that is saying something. The hotel is one of the very few properties that has an expansive view of the waterfront. It is a lavish and intimate property with a central courtyard. The breakfast is served at your table and offers an elegant melange of local flavors and global classics. They arrange for morning walking tours with a local guide, an evening boat ride or a yoga class - all complimentary! The rooms are luxurious and gives you the unique colonial feel.
- Exceptional staff who always smiled ensuring we were comfortable. Excellent location! Even though it was off season, the hotel had sufficient staff ensuring guests were well taken care off.The staff at the restaurants provided variety of food and it did not feel like it was off season. The staff really made our stay memorable, we will be back
Cons -
- Nothing particular. Only the evening boat could be even better as the condition of the boat was very poor. We expected a very posh cruise.
- The passing ferry's noise might be considered a nuisance by some - but for us it was an additional charm!

The staff is very polite and helpful. The room is cleaned very frequently. My room overlooked the sea, which was beautiful. The pool is not too shallow, which is fun. They offer a complimentary sunset cruise, which is a good addition.
The pool timings could be extended.
location and the staff of the hotel and swimming pool
lobby not comfortable to sit. quite missimng lighjt in the lobby and no air cndtion in the lobby
The location, the overall atmosphere & vibe if the hotel. The friendliness of the staff & complimentary offers within the booking
Its location and subtle luxury.
Next to ferry station and the ferry is loud.
The welcome drink on arrival was delicious. We loved the activities that were provided for us like Yoga and especially the sunset cruise that the lovely Jasmine organised for us! The food was delicious and the pool was so relaxing to sit by.
A refuge of calm close to the centre of Cochin - and a great place to watch the constantly active river traffic
great location and historic. Comfortable room, bathroom and good size bed
Noise and diesel fumes from the ferry terminalFood was expensive (seafood restaurant) and not as good as we have had elsewhere in Kerala including CGH other properties.
It was an oasis of calm in the middle of a fascinating but busy area. The hotel offers a morning walking tour and yoga, high tea and sunset cruise - all included and all excellent. The staff are so kind and attentive. The food is superb. Just make sure your bedroom is away from the ferry. Ours was perfectly quiet.
Fabulous location, delicious food, beautiful room
Lovely building and grounds, large and comfortable room, very helpful and friendly staff, nice pool area and some nice perks
Colonial feel, amazing food, very friendly staff, excellent service
The ferry noise next door.
Loved the views from the room, the hustle and bustle of the port and the ferry. Christmas menu was fabulous, lots of fresh seafood, amazingly priced. The Portuguese Seafood Guisado with gnocchi and vintage port was a Christmas Day wow for us!! After lunch we discovered a cut glass dessert tureen in our room with lovely plum Christmas cake, candied cherries and gingerbread men with a small bottle of sherry - takes complimentary to the next level really.
Everything was exceptional, staff, service, food, attention to detail, maybe some of the outdoor tables near to the pool could have had parasols - if you were not dining outside or on a pool lounger there was no shade provision for just sitting and watching the port outside of the room balconies, I’m sure the staff would have provided some if asked as nothing was too much trouble at all, we only had a short stay and had a lot of things booked so it did not impact on our stay for what little time we had. A most exceptional hotel.
Everything was fine, good location and very friendly personal. Slightly loud from the ferry.
No amenities for the driver. Not even water! When the drivers are transporting the tourists around they should at least receive some kind of washing / food /sleep possibilities!
Was very clean. Location is good despite the noise from the nearby ferry terminal. Staff tried hard.
Mosquitoes is a problem. Food (breakfast, dinner) left much to be desired. It was just bland. Room was small with just 2 small chairs and no sofa to just lay down. The high beds take some getting used to.
Everything. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The service was very good. The pool was excellent with views overlooking the busy waterfront. The room was very comfortable, with included a balcony. The food was excellent.
Nothing to dislike
Locality, evening cruise, great to come home to, the pool.
Breakfast was mediocre,service was good
Location. Food menu, high Tea and complimentary cruise. Also loved the complimentary snacks in tne rooms. Beds were very comfortable . Staff friendly.
Please serve high Tea with a cup and saucer and not a mug!
