Dutch Bungalow Fort Kochi

Good location and easy walk to fort Kochi sights. Quieter part of town compared to the center. Eager staff ready to help.

Bathroom was tired and a little smelly. Could easily add a table or place to lay out toiletries (it’s quite spacious) but instead there is just a ledge in the shower which is not ideal. Pool could be warmer to be more refreshing.

The hotel staff were truly wonderful—warm, attentive, and consistently providing excellent service. The food was outstanding, and the location couldn’t be better. Most of the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. I highly recommend this place.

This was my favorite hotel of the 8 hotels I stayed in on my 3 week India trip. The care from the staff was superlative: they helped me plan everything. The manager even walked me to the theater so that I could find it for the traditional dance show. When I didn’t have an umbrella, they produced one. Breakfast was wonderful: prepared midweek and buffet on the weekend, with the option to make egg items such as omelette. They made a great mushroom and green onion omelette. I loved my room, which was historical with high ceilings, a sitting room, a balcony, and a huge bathroom. There is a large hall with an antique swing that was used. The building is very atmospheric. The staff washes down the stone floors, keeping it scrupulously clean. I took a cooking class and the chef prepared the meal that I selected. This was a real treat. The location is convenient, walking distance from many of the historical sights and the beach. The garden is very pretty with lovely tropical plants growing. The restaurant is extremely good and convenient after a day of sight seeing. You sit outside, facing the pool. Finally, the manager phoned me as I was leaving at 3am for an early flight to Cochin to thank me for staying with them. This was above and beyond. I would love to return toDutch Bungalow.

It is a bit dark on the streets at night. But that’s not a fault of the hotel. I never felt unsafe. That is another reason that their excellent restaurant works well. The first night I ate elsewhere and I preferred the hotel restaurant.

Quaint, old building with antique furniture. Charming. Updated and clean bathrooms. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was decent.

Some rooms are smaller, some are nicer. Restaurant was OK. Being an older building expect a different experience from a modern hotel.

The kids of course loved the pool the best! The location was perfect and walkable to anywhere in Fort Kochi. Rooms were beautifully spacious and the fans and air conditioning kept the rooms nice and cool.

Minor issues only: Be aware the hotel is located in a very old building so there is a bit of musty smell and some cracking walls. The beds are not particularly comfortable. Breakfast starts at 7:30 which for us was quite late.

Charming and beautiful old building in the heart of the fort, was very clean and the staff were super friendly and kind ! A really great option in the fort for sure ! The pool is beautiful as well and great in the heat !

We had a wonderful experience during our stay! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, even checking in on us regularly to see if we needed anything — even when we were already fully satisfied! Room service was prompt, and everyone we interacted with was incredibly sweet and friendly. Even security staff was kind and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and looked after throughout our stay.After we checked out, we asked if we could leave our luggage while we explored the area one last time, and not only did they gladly accommodate us, but they also offered a changing room to freshen up when we returned. Their kindness and thoughtfulness truly made this trip even better. Thank you for the amazing hospitality!

it was an excellent experience. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and truly made the stay memorable. The food, however, was average, not particularly standout but decent enough. Despite that, the overall vibe, service, and atmosphere made it a great stay. Highly recommend for a short visit!

Staff are great and very helpful and lovely, location is spot on. It's a very old building, but could be looked after better, room could be cleaner and better maintained. Looked a bit tired. The place could be fantastic with a bit of thought. Unfortunately the guests above us had no respect that is was an old building and noises would travel.

the climate & lights/ fans in the room were not easy to adjust, so we had a busy night increasing or decreasing the temp for the AC, but besides that, the room was great!

There were some traditional food for breakfast, even if it wasn't advertised. But it was (almost apprehensively) offered to me, perhaps because I look like a local - I loved it. So, if you don't see dosa on the menu, you can still ask. :)

A 1600s Dutch bungalow. The staff were excellent, professional, and eager to help. The location in the old town Fort Kochi is excellent to experience the Portuguese and Dutch influences. The Heritage room was large, with a comfortable king bed, access to an internal lounge and verandah overlooking the pool.Delicious breakfasts were a choice of buffet and a la carte items. The wait staff were very polite and helpful. The pool provided welcome relief from the heat... A very nice property.

The bathroom was very dated and could do with a refurbishment...an improved shower head would be welcome and places for soap, conditioner and toiletries in reach of the shower.
