Need to fix the swimming pool

I love the relaxing atmosphere in the resort. And the decoration was unique. I stayed here for the sixth time. However, the place was getting a little bit old. But it has been kept in good condition still.

We love the fact that the property is traditional, quirky, and full of character… There is something new to discover around every corner. The pond in the centre was full of fish, it was very relaxing area to sit and enjoy your breakfast/evening meal. The property is surrounded by nature and paddyfields, and you can really disconnect there. The breakfast was delicious, as were the other meals that we ate. The staff were great, and we liked that they offered vintage bicycles for us to explore the area by bike for free (we visited a Wat which is very close to the Retreat).

The bathroom could maybe do with an update, the toilet seat was broken.

the retreat is developed from a traditional Thai house and the atmosphere and experience is unique and charming ... the restaurant is like being in a small floating market

preference is for the lighting of the room to be enhanced such that it is brighter and not feel so antiquated. the doors can get quite noisy to open and close

Beautiful large sprawling hotel with lots of charm. Rooms are large and the bed was firm. The bathroom was charming, part modern, part antique. The dining setting around the pond area is very pretty and the breakfast is served in lovely crockery. Staff try hard. The pool is lovely and the overall landscaping is lush and relaxed. Few more mosquitoes to contend with and the Retreat is out of town in a rural setting, you need a taxi to get into town.

Liked it all, but folks with mobility problems will not be able to get around.

A quirky old teak mansion converted into a hotel. The setting is idyllic and peaceful. Full of character and a great experience. But the main reason to return here again and again...is the food. Consistently excellent. Breakfast lunch and dinner.

Perhaps a little less quirky furniture in the bedroom (no2) to make it easier to move around in the room. Also the Aircon machine was loud. But I am picking on small details. It wouldn't stop me staying again.

The retreat was everything we hoped for, pool, massages, great food, excellent service, awesome rooms and beautiful grounds.

Breakfast choices could be improved

Breakfast and dinner were really delicious and well presented.

The taxi driver who took us to the airport tried to charge us more money than we agreed to, but the taxi driver was not part of the hotel's staff.

I love these old wooden buildings so much!The restaurant is amasing: the dishes are tasty and the decorations of them just perfect!It was my second time in Ayutthaya retreat and I hope to stay here another time I visit Ayutthaya.

Very friendly staffs and beautiful resort but a bit scary.

Breakfast could be better. Toast was cold and pork rice soup wasn’t tasty. Dessert/fruit was great. The hotel is known for their pastry and food but their breakfast wasn’t up to the standard. Also heard the prayers at night and early morning, roosters at 2-3am.

This place was amazing! The staff was very very nice to me, they made me feel welcome. The building is stunning.

The only downside is that it is not in the city centre but this is not really a problem because the hotel can help you with transportation.

Just magical, like staying in the Jim Thompson house. Clean and really friendley staff!

Bit out of the way. If you’re looking for blitsy luxery you’re at the wrong place, it’s quite bohémien in atmosphere, so you have to look past the emperfections, but it’s such an original place, we really liked it. One of the matrasses was really hard though…

Relaxing place in the Nature just 10 min driving from Ayutthaya city. Very kind staff and amazing food in the restaurant. Thank you guys!
