    Pros +

    • Excellent rooms, very clean, large sand with access to a great bath house (onsen) 150m away. Right beside the Uno train station and port
    • Very welcoming. Nice attentive staff, comfortable beds. They provide pajamas and nice slippers and robes. There is access to a wonderful facilities with hot springs.
    • It was close to the train station and the port, it had clean facilities and close to many restaurants, the service was kind of quick

    Cons -

    • The hostel rooms are comfy but very loud. You can hear every single sound despite being in separate rooms
    • It’s definitely expensive for what it is but you pay for the location and convenience given there are not a ton of options in the area.
    • The bathroom was divided separately into toilet and shower rooms. The sink was in the main room, outside the toilet room. Personally, I don’t like having a sink in the room I’m sleeping in. I just don’t like looking at grooming and make-up paraphernalia. But this is a minor quibble and it wouldn’t discourage me from returning to the Uno Hotel.

Perfect location for uno station and port. Extremely convenient for getting to the art islands. Very nice to have access to the nearby onsen as part of the stay, the facilities are very nice.

It’s definitely expensive for what it is but you pay for the location and convenience given there are not a ton of options in the area.

We spent two nights at the hotel and found it to be conveniently located for walking to both the ferry and railway stations. Since the hotel wasn’t close to town and we were too tired to investigate restaurants, we dined in the hotel both nights. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The dinner menu wasn’t large, but we were happy with everything we ordered. And it was a bonus that we could enjoy wine & cocktails at the end of the day after returning from sight-seeing! The room was spacious, clean and quiet. We also enjoyed the charming paintings near the elevator ?

This hotel is in a quiet town in a really central location to reach the islands in the Seto Inland sea. It is right opposite the station and port, and so easy to find. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with great beds and balconies you actually want to sit on. Toilet is separate from the bathroom which we always love! The real point of difference re. this hotel though is the Japanese bathhouse and restaurant which are a short walk down the road behind the hotel. Use of the onsen is complimentary for hotel residents and we used it every day we were there. The onsen facilities are very comfortable and atmospheric and the food/ambience in the restaurant is wonderful and not at all expensive. After big days of walking around Teshima and Naoshima it was so lovely to come back here on the ferry and just relax.

I found having to nominate an exact time for a breakfast a bit annoying but this was a very minor peeve.

Proximity to the ferry to Naoshima and access to onsen nearby, which was very nice and authentic. Room was also very nice, clean with a beautiful view.

The smell in the hall and corridors. Please, please change it or don’t use it, because it gives a hotel very cheap image and irritates.

Everything was brand new and the hotel is located in the perfect spot for those who need to catch a train or a ferry in a few minutes. Staff was kind and helpful but what we loved the most was the free access to the Hot Spring. A huge facility dedicated to personal wellness and relax just 300m behind the hotel. If you have tattoos, you can show your passport at the reception and they will give you the green light to enter. I wish we could stay longer.

Space inside the room was very minimal and I personally didn't like the jazz music at the hotspring and some other type of music in the corridor at the hotel . I feel the music kills the relaxing vibes, in my opinion

This hotel is beautifully designed, with spacious rooms that provide plenty of comfort. It's conveniently located right in front of a metro station, and only a 5-minute walk to the ferry port, which made getting around a breeze. While the hotel doesn't offer luggage forwarding, they do provide a baggage storage service for the day, which is really helpful if you're exploring the area after check-out. The location and room quality definitely make it a standout choice for travelers looking to explore Naoshima.

Location is in front of train station and 5 mi. Walk to both ferry, the breakfast was amazing (they have 3 options), all the amenities they have (ice cream, water, te, coffee, snacks) they give you a voucher to the Onsen that is in other building that is a great experience and beautiful tradional place, and the staff speaks English and are really helpful The best hotel in my trip through Japan

    Everything was perfect

The hotel and shared dorm areas were also very clean, like constantly clean. Especially the showers and bathroom. Loved having unlimited access to the onsen next door. Definitely expensive for what it was though.

Minimal amenities left out like body lotion, shower caps, ect. Did not appreciate that the shared bedroom lights never turned off. The staff said they would dim them but it was still fairly bright

Balcony view, complimentary snacks, high end mattresses, two pillows per bed, healthy breakfast

    10BingrongPosted on: 10-17-2025

The room is clean and it is more spacious than I expected. The location is perfect, 3 mins walk from the port and 1 mins walk from the train station. The hotel offers voucher for the onsen nearby. It is a perfect place for seeing Seto Inland Sea area.

    Nothing I really didn't like.

The location is excellent, the hotel’s décor is stunning, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the breakfast is absolutely wonderful!

    Nothing!

Beautiful property with fantastic views. Exceptionally clean. Staff were so helpful, especially Angela at the front - she made some excellent suggestions and helped with planning for visits to the various islands.

    8WaynePosted on: 9-17-2025

New hotel that is next to Ferry to Naoshima. The room was nicely sized and equipped with park and ocean view. Access to a large onsen complex with outdoor and indoor pools for each gender and excellent Japanese restaurant with reasonable prices is included. Excellent multi course breakfast is included. This is an excellent and less costly alternative to use as a base to visit Naoshima Teshima and Inujima if you don’t want to pay Benesse prices and if you don’t mind ferrying between the islands.

This hotel also caters to backpackers and hostel users with bunk beds and shared shower facilities on the first floor (hotel rooms are upstairs) so it tries to serve everyone. It is not luxury but accommodations and facilities are new and comfortable.

    Location and hot spring

No extra bed - we were traveling as a family and wanted to stay in the same room.

    9SarahPosted on: 8-1-2025

The access to the onsen nearby was incredible and something I wasn't aware came with the room! The proximity to the train and ferry stations is also unbeatable. The hotel has a lovely lobby and shared space with free tea and was super comfortable to do work on my laptop.

I was staying in the shared space, so although we each had our own space, any slight noise was heard. The property offers a sleeping mask and ear plugs, which I greatly appreciated, but next time, I'd probably just shell out a few more bucks for my own room.

Excellent location. Great staff. Great room.

    Nothing. It was amazing.
