What Guests Loved
Pros +
- Good location, nice and clean room with view on Shwedagon pagoda. Next door to penthouse rooftop bar.
- Great view from the balcony.
- The hotel is located right in front of the People's Park, which was illuminated at night to celebrate a Burmese holiday. It is at walking distance from the Pagoda and has an incredible view on the landmark. The hotel is very comfortable, the staff is very friendly and it even has a restaurant open 24-hour on the very last floor of the hotel, with an incredible view on the Pagoda!
Cons -
- Breakfast is nothing to write home about..
- Not many staff can speak English and those who can have very limited English.
- We had booked the deluxe room with view on the park and the pagoda. Unfortunately, the room is located literally next door to an open-air rooftop bar / nightclub open from 11pm to 3am, so it was very loud until very late and the bass prevented us from getting a good night sleep. The view is breathtaking but the thin glass isn't sound-proof and to be honest, had we known we would have booked another room...

The porters are always helpful. The view from the top dining area is good. It's open 24 hours so I heard. Can see pagoda during breakfast time.
The noise from the traffic on the main road is louder than expected. The female staff on the front desk refused to charge me in US dollar, she wants to charge in Kyats and trying to convince me that all hotels do it this way. Which is not true. The hot water doesn't come, even though we don't really need it. But if it's winter time, I'll think twice before booking this hotel. The bed is comfortable. But maybe there's mosquito at night. I believe it is not an upgrade for us. The room is Superior. It will be good to have shampoo, body gel in proper larger containers rather than the small local lacquer containers. There's not enough for 2 persons.
Very poor
Asked for a quiet room, got a room right over the noisy junction. Car/bus horns all day and night long. We couldn't hear ourselves think and couldn't sleep. Asked to change to a quieter room. Was declined and we were told they were fully booked (although still rooms available on Booking.com for same night?!?!). Safe in the room was not attached to anything. Could be carried downstairs and out the front door if desired. Room had mosquitoes daily. Also coffee but no kettle. Toilet seat was broken and not fixed despite our request. Breakfast hadn't much choice. Eggs, bread, one cereal, noodles or rice. Would not recommend. We left after 2 nights instead of 4 and went to chatrium hotel by the lake nearby and so so glad we did. Staff didn't even ask why we were leaving early or how our stay had been.
Good location. Nice window viev. Big room with comfortable bed. Nicely designed lobby with cozy sofas. Extremely polite receptionists and door boys.
Lifts are very slow but doors shut very fast. Service at the restaurant at dinner time extremely slow
Good
Its good value of money. Best location, walking distance to pagoda and park, also
Centrally located
Very loud as it is next to a big street and not well isolated, breakfast wasnt good, staff provided incorrect information regarding payment at shwedagon pagoda (they said we can pay in dollars, which we couldnt and all atms in the area did not work)
Grate location Good staff Room are big enough
Using too much floor cleanser and the floor are same like having some oil. Always have to be careful to not falling down
Nicely located, not far from Shwegadon Pagoda (15 minutes walk). Also some nice restaurants nearby. Room was clean, staff are friendly and very helpful for any kind of information. Some rooms (and the restaurant at the top floor) have the view on the Pagoda, which is amazing !
Good central hotel that has views of the Schwedagon pagoda. Nice breakfasts and an above par hotel for Yangon.
Jo of Concierge/ bellman was very helpful and attentive. All staff was good in general. room 801 was a good room. but how i wish it is KING bed coz i was traveling alone. But it's ok.
fish head soup
staff with very service mild breakfast is so great with both taste and view
Air condition slowly operated Bed is so noisy
I have to give big Kudos to hotel manager.Wai Mar Thwain, went out of her way to get my flight rescheduled. I missed my early flight. She talked with KAZ airline and got me on the next flight. She was architecture to reschedule my pick up from Heho to Inle Lake. If ever you need help asked. Wait Mar Thwin. She also resolved wifi problems.
Arriving 2:00 am in the morning was a big problem the receptionist took 30min to figure out how to accommodate me
The staff are really lovely.
The noise from the nightclub next door went until after 0230. No hot water for the shower.
Very very good location. Staff are kind. Shopping mall and other shop are around. 5 minutes walk to KFC, Mary Brown. 10 minutes walk to 24 hours open supermarket. And other other more. Real great location
staff is so friendly big room
at the wood floor is not clean
The staffs were so professional, great service and extremely polite. The room was cozy. I wanted to do early check-in since my bus arrived in Yangon at 5 am and have told them, but when I arrived at the hotel they were fully booked, but I know they have tried their best to make the room for me and my parents which I am very grateful. The hotel restaurant can see the full view of people's park and the Shwedagon Pagoda. You should just take Grab if you are going to the airport, the hotel charges 25 USD for airport transportation service.
Location and the overall experience. Location-wise, it is at a walkable distance from many sights, and we felt quite safe entering/coming back a little late. Some of the staff was quite helpful in suggesting places to see, even when the communication may not be as excellent. One of the lovely things to greet you is your name on the plaque to welcome you as you arrive on day 1 of your stay. The bathroom was clean. The breakfast was decent, with local Myanmar fare available to sample, and quite a decent coffee. The spread was also good. One of the really good things was they provided you with a refillable jug and purified water. No plastic bottles.
Unfortunately there are small but quite a few issues that we didn't like: 1. Creaky beds. 2. There was a nice little balcony to the room (visible from the washroom), but it was closed and blocked from usage. 3. Communication isn't the strong suit here. 4. They did not offer us the welcome drink. 5. We had booked pickup from the airport and were given a confirmation that our driver would be waiting for us. We never got the taxi and I had to call up the hotel 5 times to understand what was going on. They kept repeating it is on its way, but when I asked about the contact info of the driver, they kept saying they will call back without doing so. So I had to use up the limited call allowance on the local sim that I had just purchased to coordinate with the hotel. And ultimately, after more than an hour of waiting, we took a cab from the outside. (No this wasn't a communication issue)
Nice breakfast and very pleasant personnel, unlimited drinking water, good soup in the restaurant
Air conditioner was not well regulable, got a little sick in the morning
