Golden Gate China Town Hotel

Supposedly a good location to downtown.

The room booked: 3 single beds. The room given: 1 full bed. No running water in the shower. No windows. Luckily my two other friends are easy-going enough to have to share a bed with 3 dudes. The staff still didn't fix the shower after 3 requests.

We stayed at the hotel for two weeks in February 2025. The hotel is very conveniently located (5-7 minutes by taxi from the Shwedagon Pagoda, Sule Pagoda, and the zoo). The hotel is not new, which is especially noticeable in the bathroom (the walls need painting) and in the smell in the room, but we got used to it. The shower pressure is very good, there is hot water. The rooms are quite large. The furniture in the room is of good quality (a large wardrobe, 2 beds, a bedside table for TV, bedside tables. There is no kettle, but hot water and everything you need for a comfortable stay are brought upon request. I would like to note the very attentive, very friendly hotel staff! They made our holiday in Yangon unforgettable!

This hotel near by Chinatown at 19 street just 2 min.

I dont like when i check in here price very highly not the same in booking , they've charged in me. Little disappointed, ?

Rooftop had nice view, location was good and breakfast was good.

Room elements were repaired with tuck tape, from climate system the water was dripping into bed, when I booked, toilets were not cleaned, it was written that card payment is possible, but when arrived only cash option allowed and they asked higher price.

Breakfast is not variety

The rooms not clean and musty smell.The bath room the water is quite weak and water leaks from the ceiling.

Is near China town 19 streets only 5 min walkBed is comfortable Buffet is not bad is Mymamar food .They change me another bed room more comfortable and aircond is coldStaff with smile

U can hear noisy outside ..especially 5am in the morning people they start work.If the windows more thick hotel is 100 % perfect Wifi bit slow at the night time

Very slow Wifi. NO guest access to the room. If friends or family visit you at the hotel, this might not be the best fit. We originally booked for 9 days, but switched to a different hotel after just 2 nights.

Friendly staff. Big room for family. Great regular housekeeping. Good wifi. Central location.

Too many mosquito... Hotel doesn't provide mosquito net. Room are not sound proof. Can hear people talking in corridor.

Everything is great here. Staff always friendly and helpful, good location, rooms spacious and clean. I've stayed several times and have nothing to complain about. Always coming back here when I am in Yangon!

Couldn't have been better, for the price and location. The staff were so friendly and helpful, it really made us feel at home.The rooftop restaurant and space were perfect for relaxing far above the busy Chinatown streets.Great restaurants and markets within walking distance, and Sule Pagoda very close by.Perfect in all ways, thank you so much to the staff for making us so welcome! This is the only home I need in Yangon.

Good location in China town ( China town is …. China town …so it’s a choice ) helpful. Smiling. Very interesting Myanmar breakfast on the terrace. Staff Always available. Some of the employees Speaking English properly. A big room.

I would like to say thank you to ouner and friendlu stuff of this hotel!Big fresh rooms, fresh bed sheets, towels, and so on.Nice stron aircon.And especialy i was surprised with roof top restaurant. And breakfast.Nice nice people. Much love!!!

Location and stuff are perfect. Also there is a good restaurant with the best Tom Yam soup 10 meters left from the hotel. There was a breakfast and everyday housekeeping:)

Atmosphere is very spooky..not very clean, lift doesn't work properly, WiFi is absolutely disaster
