Elphinstone Hotel

The staff were incredibly friendly and helped me book a taxi to the airport and with anything I needed. The breakfast was tasty and the location is about a 20 min walk to most tourist spots in the south and 5 mins from Crawford market. The budget rooms are basic and a little small but if you aren't spending much time in your room then it's fine for a good nights sleep. There's also free tea and biscuits in the evening!

The location n also the main entrance from the main road where to grab a taxi a bit difficult you need to climb the staircase to reach the hotel reception and now if u alone you can't leave your luggage unattended to go and look for the staff this need to be given a consideration especially for old people

I really like the layout of the room, it was cleaned, air conditioning and fans work. Breakfast was good. Overall great vibes. Nicely located with a ride away from almost everything.

Hotel staff were very accommodating with earlier check in. Room had all required features, though bed was a little uncomfortable for me. I did not sample the breakfast due to booked tours but menu looked fine. Location is a bit far from tourist areas

Ideally now with experience I'd want to stay more central to the tourist areas

The elphinstone is a comfortable hotel for a visit to Mumbai, with a good location close to the fort district and the main rail terminal. The staff are excellent, while the breakfast is hearty and varied. It is also reasonable value, as mumbai is expensive. The deluxe rooms are more spacious and comfortable than the "superiotr" rooms.

Location is good and rooms are clean.

This is a very very basic property. No proper toiletries were given, my room had no window, towels and bed sheets were very old. No lift facilities.

The hotel is safe and the room was clean. The staff were helpful and the price I paid was reasonable.

The hotel insides have been refurbished, The reception area looks clean. The breakfast was decent. It was value for money.

The room we were assigned was at the back of the building and had a depressing and unpleasant view. Throughout the night, a large machine made a loud noise, turning on and off repeatedly — I was later informed that it was the water heater for the entire property. The noise kept us awake all night. I have shared a video of the room capturing the sound, and we were told that we could have informed the staff. However, we didn’t raise it at the time because we were informed during check-in that the hotel was fully booked and no alternative rooms were available. That’s why we were given the room at the back, which had a cluttered balcony with wooden planks and a bicycle stored there.

It does not look much from the outside and you have to claim stairs to the first floor where the hotel is located

There are no elevators.. It wasn't easy to carry my belongings.

Staff were great. Super helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and fun that it changed slightly every day. Good value for the price.

The room was very small with no window. Also it was a ~30 minute walk to get to Fort along a busy road.

The hotel was more than adequate for the night that we needed to spend there. Staff were helpful.The room was small but clean and not noisy given then the location on the main road.The bathroom was small, but again clean - a few extra towels wouldn't go amiss.

The lack of a restaurant on site is a pity especially of arriving late.The breakfast area is ok but not the most comfortable given that it is just outside the rooms which are all on the first floor.

Hemond and his team went above and beyond to accommodate us arriving days late due to missed connections and shuffled reservations to allow us to extend our stay twice.Only 150 to 180 rupees to get to many sites in all directions. Every time we needed anything someone was right nearby to help.I am going to miss all of them.
