The Gordon House Hotel

The location was perfect for walking to Gateway of India, restaurants, shopping and exploring the Calaba district. Clean and comfortable hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The included breakfast buffet was excellent. Would book again!

Apart from the central location, courteous and responsive staff, good quality and variety of breakfast dishes, and modern amenities our room had a very pleasant, charming and well designed decor and furnishing.

The staff was top notch, requests were addressed quickly. Very clean. Fresh supply of bottled water everyday. Complimentary breakfast. A stone's throw from lots of shopping & restaurants. Cabs everywhere. It was a delightful experience.

There is a night club on the 2nd floor. Good because we got to enjoy late night drinks & dancing. Not good the first two days when we weren't sure where the music was coming from. A warning would have been nice. No view / no windows open (understandably)

I loved that coming back to the room felt like a clean and peaceful respite from the busy city of Mumbai. I liked the level of cleanliness and how helpful the front desk staff was.

The overall design of the hotel could have been much better. However, this doesn't affect the quality of the hospitality. I also was disappointed that the room's window was blocked and so I didn't have any view.

VERY ICONIC LOCATION AND IS VERY CLOSE TO GATE WAY OF INDIA AND TAJ PALACE HOTEL. BREAK FAST IS GOOD, ROOM IS VERY CLEAR AND TIDY AND ALSO SPACIOUS. GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY.

BREAKFAST SPREAD COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. PEOPLE IN THE FRONT DESK AND BE LITTLE MORE GREETING AND ADD VALUE TO RECEPTION. PERHAPS GOOD TRAINING IS LACKING.

Great location for me. I was a solo traveler and wanted to be able to walk to places without having to get a taxi.

No English language TV that I could find. Restaurant was good but pretty expensive for India.

Nothing at all the hotel was horrible

Everything was terribly bad and the hotel was unsanitary the staff was bad the breakfast was unsanitary at all I really regret staying at that hotel the smell inside the hotel was exhausting

This was our second stay at this property. The room we were in this time wasn't as comfy. The mattress and the pillows contributed to restless sleep. The wifi was ridiculously slow and keep dropping from time to time.

Super location. Close to all the restaurants, cafes & shopping.The Staff were polite, attentive and helpful. Varun, Vicky, Jayesh and Sushil at Reception were extremely efficient & handled the check-in and check-out smoothly. Though the bathroom is a bit small, the room was of a good size, extremely clean and very comfortable and Housekeeping did a great job.It's a well run Hotel. I was very happy with my stay and will definitely return.

The breakfast menu does need to be improved. Instead of having sandwiches, they could have different breads/crackers with a cheese board and some cold cuts.The restaurant 'All Stir Fry' has a fairly nice menu, but their portions are huge except for the soups. A suggestion to have half portions for small eaters like me, would be great, so that food is not wasted.

The location is very nice, right next to Taj Mahal Hotel and Gateway of India. The premises and surroundings are clean. Breakfast was simple yet good, and the staff was pretty supportive to the needs of an eleven month old baby. The room was simple, and had guest house like appearence. Both the room and the bathroom could have definitely been better and more hotel like.

The design of the bathroom wasn't too great. A towel rack next to the basin would have been very useful. Two 500ml Water bottles for a family of 3 on a hot day is insufficient.

Probably the cleanest bed sheets I ever had in India. Staff very friendly and tried in all sorts to respond to my complains about the loud night musics.

The noise from the 1st floor bar. I was staying in a 4th floor room and could still hear the loud music at night, it ends at 1am. The owner of the bar is the same owner as hotel, so I don't understand why they can't solve this problem. They prefer a loud music for those 5 bar guests, instead of thinking of 20 tourists who are trying to sleep in this hotel.

Great location, easy walking distance into the town centre. Very helpful and attentive staff. Room was spacious with comfortable bed, fresh bottled water provided daily. Hotel was kept spotless.

Bathroom was well past its prime and could do with refurbishing.Quality of breakfast and choice was ok but could have been improved.

The breakfast is SO ATROCIOUS. I saw so many foreign tourists in thew hotel and I am scared for Brand India that with this horrible breakfast quality, foreigners will wonder if ALL INDIAN FOOD IS SO TERRIBLE AND ATROCIOUS

The staff was excellent for most part. The rooms were clean. We had booked a suite and a regular room. The suite was well stocked with bath robes, slippers, extra towels etc . The teams at the front desk, house keeping and room service were excellent

Paint was chipped in both the rooms. The breakfast options were inadequate. The servers at breakfast were grumpy and unhelpful - couldn’t manage a masala tea with milk on the side on either of the two days …how difficult is that?

Good location near many historic monuments, very clean and recently painted.

Very noisy disco-bar on the first floor that echoes throughout the whole hotel until 1am. Noisy sound checks in the afternoon. Bathroom was very small, had to walk into the shower to close the door. Strange pushbutton lighting system didn’t work and lights came on randomly during the night. Room safes can be easily removed!! Complementary breakfast was poor and ran out of options after 9am.

The hotel is placed very close to the gate of India in the center of the historical part of Mumbai.

The music from a nearby club is heard in the room.

The night club at the weekends is so loud . They should warn you. We had read about it and asked for a room far away which we got but it was still audible.

Nice and clean hotel in the heart of colaba, Mumbai. Initially we were in a quite noisy room but upon request we could change to another one!

The hotel is a bit pricy for the room and service you get. Breakfast last until 10 but starting 9:30 they hurry you and start tidying everything around you which is not super appreciable.
