Beautiful Modern Rooms in Retro Building Classis

Size of room, location, heritage building, staff.

Breakfast was o.k. , but could be better, ( from a Western point of view, admittedly). For example fresh papaya, yoghurt.

The staff was very helpful.

There were mosquitoes in the room, and there was no mosquito fumigator provided. Besides, the air conditioner was too loud.

Location and value for the money.

Other family members didn’t have the same experience with their rooms. Need to improve on providing same quality in all the rooms.

My stay was good, even though the hotel was a bit far from Colaba where i was doing my business but overall it was great.Id love to thank the manager Sham, he was very polite and kind.Also the security guards, the concierge, house keeping and the head chef.

only thing that bothered me was on Sunday some locals would start playing cricket from morning till evening and that was a quite noisy, they were screaming and yelling which made it bothersome.

moved to this hotel after feeling uncomfortable in a very small, box-type room at another hotel in Colaba, and this place was a complete relief and pleasure. This is a beautiful heritage property, more than 100 years old, with very spacious and grand rooms designed in a classic British colonial style. The room was extremely large, clean and well-maintained, with a balcony offering a wonderful view of Ballard Estate street lined with trees and old British-era buildings. The whole area is calm, silent and away from the busy parts of Mumbai.Staying here genuinely felt like stepping back into 1950s or 1960s Mumbai with a nostalgic charm. The staff deserve special mention – very polite, professional and attentive. I noticed how well they handled international guests and provided guidance with care and respect. Overall, this was a memorable, comfortable and refreshing experience in Mumbai.

Since this is an old heritage building, the plumbing system needs attention. At times, water appeared slightly discolored, likely due to old metal pipelines, and hot water was not functioning during my stay (though I’m not sure if it was a control issue). This area definitely needs improvement.

Everything in the room smells bad the towel the floor and the bed is not comfortable at all so gross

Facility is old not up to the mark for the price they charge, food aa la carte to room service is over expensive - food quantity is super small with exorbitant pricing ( not even enough for a child) better to order from outside

I love older hotels and this is a well-managed, well-maintained one. The staff are attentive but not intrusive. Everything is very clean which I love. Breakfast is a combination of western favorites as well as a couple of Indian breakfast items that vary every day which I like so that I become aware of the variety of Indian breakfast items that are available. I also like that nothing Indian is spicy, flavorful but not full of chili powder. Internet is good. My only request is for the internet not to reset each day when they know that the guest will be there for many days. I had more than one online meeting cut because the internet would suddenly get reset in the morning. Thank you Grand Hotel. I had a lovely experience with you and hope to come back soon.

Better standard coffee at breakfast -- it was just too mild. On my last day, I asked for a cappucino and that was much better. I will remember that for next time.

Nothing, a solid hotel

The staff are friendly, there is the shift manager (I don't remember his name unfortunately) I was in dire need of batteries for my father's blood pressure monitor, they suddenly ran out, and there was no way to find them in the nearby kiosks, so he kindly searched for the batteries in the online store application on his mobile and ordered them for me and they arrived in a short time, he really blew my mind with his generosity and initiative left a good impression on me with his cooperation and humanity.

This is one of the few "old school" hotels remaining in South Mumbai and is an excellent place for a few days or longer. Exuding both its colonial design while meeting contemporary standards. The location cannot be better--a quiet leafy neighborhood, one of the few that development has not touched and so is a lovely place to walk around during the day and night. The shops and restaurants of Kala Ghoda are a short walk. The rooms are large and well-maintained. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful--and available 24 hours.

The breakfast is India-centered so do not expect a smorgasbord of Western and Indian foods. The food is good and plentiful. If you require strong coffee, look elsewhere!

location is excellent away from the hustle and bustle, and the hotel has a great vintage charm with rooms so spacious not available anywhere else in the city. great value for money, helpful staff and awesome views of the harbour

Breakfast was good with very good staff. Reception helpful. Room service timely and efficient. Room was superb, extremely clean modern decoration and great bathroom. Vey comfortable. The hotel is in a good area that felt safe. You will have a bit of a walk to get to other areas, but Uber is your best best for getting around if you can't find a cab outside, although there are usually many waiting. Door man is very helpful. Im very happy to recommend. Not so suitable for young families as there is a steep staircase and an old style lift.

Breakfast mediocre. No windows/views, only curtains. Hotel would be okay at half the price, not close to worth $90 a night for basically a one star.

Convenient location

Room was very small and with extremely old fittings. The air conditioner unit was ancient, ineffective and extremely loud. Elevator was not working when we checked in and there is a fair amount of renovation work ongoing in the property.
