Diplomat Hotel

Easy check in with wonderful staff. Ideal location and close to everything great in Colaba. The room was big enough for a couple with 2 suitcases comfortable and the bed was soft and comfy (unlike most beds we experienced in India where firm is the preferred option). Good aircon and a great selection at breakfast.

Bathroom could use a fan as mould was starting to grow from the humidity, but wouldn't stop me staying again.

Location and cleanliness

The staff was very rude, especially the guys at reception. They behaved as if they were paying us to stay. Everyone except the reception guys were okay. The breakfast was below average, certainly not worth the price. There was hardly any variety and the quality of the existing food was also pretty bad.

Staff was nice and stored my luggage for a few hours while I was out.

My room wasn’t so clean and it smelled weird. I only stayed one night so I didn’t spend too much time there, but if it had been a longer stay I would have ask the reception to change rooms. There were also some construction works going on in the building in front, so quite nosy during the afternoon.

The downline Staff from waiters to guards were good. Rooms were good

The reception never takes a call and says call after 5 mins and they do not bother to listen why is someone calling. I had tried booking directly through the hotel website but it seems they prefer booking it through 3rd party apps. Reception man is terrible in terms of handling calls whoever it was.

Friendly staff, breakfast was good, the location is fantastic stone's throw away from gateway of India.

My room was clean button bit more scrubbing wouldn't have gone amiss. Small scuff marks on the wall could have just been polished out. Disappointing was meeting people but there's no facility within the hotel to have a meeting and you're not permitted to have any guests in your room and very disappointing.

The location is awesome! Decent indian breakfast, modest but clean room, soundproof windows. Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Next time in Mumbai - I stay there 100%

We stayed in a suite room and the facilities in this room was exceptional. We were very comfortable. Room and toilet was both clean. The toilet was a nice size and had a shower cubical. The service provided by all staff members of the hotel was very good. The location of the hotel is very central for shopping and nice places to eat.

I had reserved a double bed room, but was allocated room with single beds on arrival, so that was disappointing.

The location is amazing and felt very safe to walk anround. Staff at the front desk and around the hotel are extremely helpful!They helped us with train times and taxi bookings and there was always someone at the front desk. Beds were super comfy and rooms were always cleaned and refreshed very promptly.

Rooms could do with a refresher, but that is just a stylistic choice!

Great location, staff very polite and very helpful. The manager was exceptionally helpful. Helped us book our train tickets. Food and room service was good. We stayed in the deluxe room.

I can't say there is anything we didn't like about this hotel.

Perfect location next to the Iconic Hotel Taj mahal and Gateway of India. Clean environment, courteous staff .Overall assessment- Very good !

The helping staff... there was a small accident where the senior member of our family got injured and the staff helped us with the dressing and also went running to buy the medicine our doctor asked us to give immediately. The cleaner refused to take money but took only the amount he spent when we insisted. The hotel also immediately started the procedure for refund. Thank you to the housekeeping staff for your help... and thank you the front desk staff for refund

Be careful in the bathroom as the tiles become a bit slippery when wet

if you are sensitive to noise, its located next to a club / bar so you can hear the music at night. apart from that, everything was great!

First off, the room was so small, and it was not working properly. The cupboard had just two doors, and when you opened it, there was only a steel rod fixed to the wall with some hangers. The washroom commode seemed recently fixed. The light switches were broken, and the internet speed was only 3Mbps for both upload and download. The curtains and bedding were stained. As soon as we entered the room, the AC started leaking water, and I made a video of it. I was too tired to change rooms because I had been traveling for a long time and needed sleep, so I put a tub underneath to catch the water.There was no toothbrush, comb, or iron. The fridge was smelly, and there was a small TV on the table in the corner that was uncomfortable to watch. The body lotion and shampoo in the wall-fixed bottles were not fresh. When I was about to check in, the manager was shouting at the staff in front of the customers, which was not professional. It took him an hour to get a confirmation from Booking.com to check the status of my booking, even though I showed him the booking confirmation.He said, "I haven't received any confirmation, including my credit card details. You can see it yourself." I noticed other bookings had gone through, and for mine, Booking.com had already sent a request for early check-in. I could tell he wasn't good with technology and was too shy to admit it he also said you could do the booking directly we would have given you the same price In the end, he said, "As a manager, I am printing some documents for you because Booking.com hasn't sent them yet." lol

Centrally located and good staff

The entrance of the hotel, the passage to the lift - both needs serious redesigning in todays time. This part gives a feel of a 2-3k room night property and completely kills the mood.
