    • The rooms were very cozy and had all the amenities I needed for my trip. The restaurant downstairs was extremely handy during the holiday season when everything is closed. Not to mention the food was great and for a good value. The hotel is very close to the station and has a convenience store three minutes walk from it.
    • Wonderful couple that run the Pension and the restaurant downstairs. Definitely have dinner there! It’s also very close to Kinugawa Onsen station and a Lawson.
    • Nice, inexpensive place to stay in the Nikko area. Location is right near the train station.Clean accommodations. Not a lot to do and eat in the town, but the hotel has a cute restaurant downstairs

    Cons -

    • Room was very small
    • Hard bed
    • Location a bit far away from city center, we have to transit twice to Tobu Nikko station every day , which cost some time

Easy to find and easy check-in.The location is very good, really close to the station. The bathroom, sheets, towels were clean and we had what we needed for a couple of nights. The bathroom seemed pretty new. The yukata were really comfortable. We did not get a chance to eat at the restaurant downstairs, but it seemed convenient to have this option, we had the menu in the room and the food choice was diverse. Good value for the price.

You can hear noise from the hall and neighboring rooms. Also the fridge or not sure what else in the room kept making a sound all night, both nights, like a crackling, which was a bit loud.

A nice family feel to it. Close to Nikko Station and several food shops in the middle of the city center. In the first floor you can eat cheap Japanese food made by the hotel owners. Confortable bed, modern and cleaning bathroom and some common space for basic cooking.

The staff were lovely. Close to the train station . Had everything you need to stay a few nights.

The property itself is very outdated. Many people probably wouldn’t have the biggest problem staying here, but for what you pay, it just doesn’t compare to other places we stayed.

We had a great stay here. The room was a simple but traditional Japanese style room with a futon on the floor. You could add in extra mats and we found them comfortable and warm. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. And the owner was the nicest and went out of his way to help us. The location itself was about a 10-15 min walk down to Lake Ashi and right near a bus stop which was handy.

The host is very friendly and willing to accommodate our needs.

A bit far from Nikko centre. It takes around 1 hour to get there if we want to go to the National Park.

The venue may have appeared a little old, a little basic, but in reality it was as good as any of the larger hotels we had stayed in. Staff were friendly, even though I don't speak any Japanese. Nice little downstairs restaurant where I got to eat a hamburger with chopsticks. Close to the station. I'd recommend this place.

Nothing to complain about. It was what it said it would be for a reasonable price.

If you are not expecting complete luxury, then this place is ideal. Quirky little place with the basics and for the price, very adequate. The staff were helpful and very pleasant. The food in the hotel was great, and lucky for us as places to eat in village are few and close early. Would stay again.

The location of Kinugawa Pension Bamboo was conveniently located, being very close to the station and several onsen facilities. They also have a restaurant on the first floor that opens till 9, which is quite nice since all the surrounding restaurants close very early.

Good location, good price. Very easy check-in process. Food in the restaurant downstairs was nice too.

    8MartelliniPosted on: 9-30-2024

Good place in a really beautiful location. Super quiet and local town. It is a bit far away from the most popular places in nikko but, besides that, is really well connected with the local train.

    5PeringatPosted on: 9-24-2024

Host is good and Can speak fluent English

From Nikko it's far and the facilities not good for the price.

    9FlorensiaPosted on: 9-22-2024

Hassle free check in, restaurant downstairs is yummy, clean, plenty of beds

It would be appreciated to give instructions of where the towels are :)

    9MariePosted on: 9-22-2024

The train station is just a few minutes walk. There is also a lawson and onsen nearby the place.

    7JasminePosted on: 8-17-2024

The restaurant that is connected to the property serves delicious Japanese set dinners with reasonable prices.

The room was unkept - the shower curtain was moldy and the fridge looked unclean. There were a few stains on the bedding and carpet.
