HOTEL WOOD TAKAYAMA

very clean; free drinks

I love everything about the property. The location, the staff, the amenities. The hotel is within the Old Town and nearby shops and restaurants. I like that they have the lounge for guests where you can have unlimited drinks - sake, beer, cafe etc

Perhaps they can have more variety for breakfast.

Beautiful hotel. Wonderful staff. Sake tasing in the evening appreciated.

Bed was bit hard.

Welcoming and friendly staff with good command of EnglishFree flow drinks (5pm onwards) was a nice touchConvenient location and walkable from the train/bus station and major attractionsClean room and well equipped amenitiesHotel fulfilled request for a quiet room on the upper floor.

The raised platform where the bed sits is nice to look at, but not very practical, especially when going to the toilet in the middle of the night. Prone to have a sudden drop or hit your ankles when climbing back to bed if one doesn't have the lights on.

The free sake + beer all evening was incredible! The onsen was in very good condition! The staff noticed that I dropped a ¥1000 note, and came up to our room and returned it to us. <3

Everything ? Hotel and rooms style and design, laundry service, free drink and free books and games in the lobby area, breakfast with both Japanese style box and/or international options small buffet. Highly recommended!

Very clean. The room is traditional in a modern way.Staff is very friendly.

The room is a little dark. This may be intentional for creating a more realistic old town experience given it is located in the old town of takayama, but I still hope for more lighting to make reading easier.

Good location. Only a few steps from a kombini. Plenty of restaurants around. Free umbrella rental. Free drinks in the evening. Minimalistic room style which suited my tastes.

I do remember the room as been quite dim even with all lights at maximum brightness.

It’s a nice hotel. The rooms were clean and relaxing. The happy hour with beer and sake and snacks was a nice treat. The location of the hotel was good, within walking distance to the old part of the town, the river and a good number of restaurants and cafes. The staff were all nice and friendly especially Ann and her husband.

Exceptional staff- lovely room and the hotel were thoughtful with an additional sake tasting for guests in the evening. Fantastic Japanese breakfast.

Beds could be more comfortable!

GREAT FACILITIES-HAS PARKING AND AN ONSEN. MINUTES WALKING FROM THE CENTER OF TAKAYAMA. FREE SAKE TASTING IN LOBBY WAS A GREAT EXTRA.

NO TV-NOTED IN ADVANCE, BUT THERE IS NOTHING TO WATCH ON JAPANESE TV ANYWAY.

Comfy rooms, SPA available, Laundry Facilities and Free Drinks (Beverages and Alcohol) every day 5pm-11pm!!!! It is also Near the attractions that we planning to visit. Free Parking!!

No Tv in room, however strong Wifi signals, ipad is good enough.

The Hotel is clean, very well located, nice room, excellent spa, very cool loungewear

The location is a 10 and the happy hour from 5-10pm is fantastic.

The room lighting is quite dim, on purpose, but I wish there were better lighting for those who like it brighter. The breakfast “box” is prepared in advance so it’s ambient temperature, only the soup is warm. Not a deal breaker though.

Perfect location, excellent and friendly staff, good vibes, spacious rooms, free happy hour drinks, staff always ready to help, clean rooms

A very clean and comfortable family tatami room. The onsen was a wonderful experience, and the complimentary free-flow alcohol at night was excellent.

Good location and very convenient to access places of interest. Staffs are very friendly. Love the onsen too.

Location, location, location! Happy hour sake, onsen on site, friendly staff

It’s not didn’t like, but the parking lot is far from the property, although they have a car to transfer us from hotel to parking place, it would be better to park at the front spots. Not a big deal though

Comfortable room, great facilities, and convenient location.
