Cons -
- The pillows! Gotta get rid of those dumb plastic pellet things!
- The neighborhood is too quite.
- Nothing, except is a little far and hard to get to using public transportation, but it's doable. We drove here so it was easy.

Hotel is very spacious. Breakfast and dinner were awesome and delicious. The views are magnificent. Private onsen is piping hot and relaxful. The hotel is close enough to local town and the Japanese Alps. Could even use it as a base for other place like Takayama, Shiragawa-go etc.

It was very clean, the staff were great, the room we had was huge. There’s a great view and you feel nestled in the woods. Their beef dinner was really good. Good parking.
There were a few spots you could tell it wasn’t brand new. I would have liked a second pillow on my bed maybe a little softer as the one they had was firm. The chicken and fish dinner were fine, but we wish we ordered beef that night as it was so much better.
Excellent Location, big rooms, private bath and friendly staff.
Breakfast spread could have included some juices and extra bread. Also, no coffee or drinking water bottle in room.
The staff is super friendly, the rooms are very spacious, and the private onsen tub was amazing
The hotel is definitely older than what it seems on the picture. It also feels very deserted during the day and many things would need upkeep
Big room, private onsen, breakfast and friendly staff
Too dark and far toilet.
Spacious roomPrivate onsenDelicious dinner and breakfast Beautiful view
The onsen and large room.
Uncomfortable seating in the room.
Good location , okay food
The hotel room was not that clean, felt like living in an abandoned old house with peeling wall paper, stained carpets and very very dusty. I was sneezing the entire time of stay and got quite sick ?. The advertised photos are from when the hotel was built and it looks nothing like reality. I had stayed at 14 different hotels during my Japan visit and this is the only hotel I can think about having a bad experience. On top of that The hotel staff was very weird felt like they were doing this for first time.
Hot springs bath
Room is not clean and bad smell exhaust fan not working breakfast also not good
Very spacious room. Private Onsen was great.
Need brighter lightings in the room. Breakfast time at 8am is a little late. We need to catch the bus to Kamikochi so have to miss the breakfast. Although there were only 2 groups of hotel guests, they are unable to make it earlier or pack something simple for take away. In some other onsen hotel, staff pack something simple for us to take away.
Nice sized room.
The food was average. Not alot of other food in the area. Alot of businesses closed.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The area is gorgeous and secluded. The food was very good. The in room onsen is wonderful. The common rooms are very comfy with beautiful views. It is far away from anything else which is exactly what we were looking for.
The age of the hotel is really showing, it could use a refurbish especially of the carpets and the paint for the walls. The rooms themselves need the most love. The lack of nearby amenities such as convenience stores. We read reviews before coming warning of this so packed lunch stuff for our stay which made it much better. Highly suggest to bring ample food, snacks, and drinks!
Large rooms, enjoyed private Onsen, enjoyable meals, lovely staff, location great, three bus stops away from Shinhotaka Ropeway. Great walks along the river. It snowed and was beautiful
The room was huge and had everything we needed, and we were pleasantly surprised about having our own private onsen in the room! The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented and the hotel staff were very helpful. Thank you!
Good bath with onsen water. Spacious room. Very accommodating staff - we were able to check in early.
Breakfast was just ok.
Very nice hotel, clean and spacious with private onsen inside the room. Staffs are very nice and helpful. Highly recommended.
Hotel is located near Nakaokogen guchi bus stop on the way from Shinhotaka ropeway to Hirayu. Nice hotel with personal onsen in each room with hot water flowing in the bath tub while looking at the outside beautiful snow mountains. Room size is much bigger than typical Japanese rooms.Good breakfast even for vegetarians they had arranged some things. Common room has oven, washing machine, massage chair useful after a long day in the northern alps. Definitely recommend.
