- I really enjoyed my stay. I went to Takayama to eat Hida beef. For my stay as a solo traveler, I paid to have breakfast and dinner included.Dinner was great. Had 3 types of Hida beef. First night was beef steak (I enjoyed it the most). Second night was Hida beef sukiyaki. Third night was shabu shabu. The food was well presented. Restaurant staff were attentive and gave personalised touches to the meal. Breakfast had Hida beef croquettes, Hida beef buns and Hida beef curry included in the myriad of breakfast selections.The public bath allocations between men and women alternated morning and night so you are able to try out 2 different baths. Great places to thaw out from the snow.

What really stood out was the attention to detail and the generous inclusions — the late-night light meal was a lovely and thoughtful touch, reflecting true Japanese hospitality and care for guests.Overall, a well-run hotel that respects tradition while delivering comfort and convenience. I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Takayama.

- The staff was not helpful all all and there was no way to get an extra blanket
- Pillows were too hard
- Bathroom and room were very small. Also had a really bad checkin experience. I had booked 2 rooms , 2 people each room and when I got there they told me I only had 1 person per room and I had to pay for the additional 2. After arguing for a bit and them calling booking, we resolved it and I didnt have to pay extra but it was a frustrating experience. I also thought it was a bit overpriced

Hotel was nice. Outdoor onsen was cool. Location was good.

This hotel is well-located by the train station and tourist sites in Takayama. The bedrooms are comfortable and the hotel restaurant is good. Staff are helpful. I'd stay here again

The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a lot of variety. The onsen is fantastic. The room had a lovely view. The location was ideal.
The bathroom is dark, small and dated. The bed is very hard.

The onsen has a no tattoos policy, it was really disappointing as all other hotels with onsens I’ve stayed at in the last few years no longer have this policy.

People that don't know how to use Onsen ask staff or READ THE SIGNS or GOOGLE. There was a Chinese lady with her phone in the Onsen, which is not okay ever.

It was my fisrt time at an Onsen so I was very confused even with the tutorial given, what kind of shoes should I wear where and what do I do with my clothes? It was slightly different from other hotels so I was hesitant.
