Breakfast was delicious - lots of lovely Japanese dishes to choose from.

Absolut amazing hotel. I think the pictures are misleading a little because the hotel is a million times better in person. The staff are exceptional and the free shuttle service is the reason why this hotel is superior to others around them in Takayama.
The ramen bowl could've been a little bigger but it's free so I can't complain.
Great place to relax, on the outskirts of town, surrounded by mountains, little stream and shrines nearby, convenience store right in front of the hotel.Staff is kind and humble.Room is clean, comfortable, size is okay.Hotel has a charming atmosphere, they even have a spa.Breakfast has great selection with local specialties. Charter bus runs between the hotel and Takayama station numerous times each day.

No lift to 1st floor, staff help us to bring luggage upSTEP at bathroom, got trip once. Not safe for older folks .
An all-around pleasant stay. We overlooked the river so it was quiet except for the sound of rushing water.I was concerned about the distance from town but we rented their electric bicycle (only 500 yen for half a day) or took the hourly shuttle.We rode the bikes in the countryside and got to see a side of Japan that train travelers don't have access to.There is a convenience store across the street.
The AC kept turning off at night and there were no instructions in English.The bicycles need some maintenance (chain lubrication, new tires).

Staff are great, help full at one of lady at reception help me for map. Most me and my wife very impress with senior lady during breakfast, we met her 2 days. She very nice and look after us during breakfast.

Teeny tiny rooms and no elevator to take your luggage up to room. Mega hard bed- all a bit too much for a travelling weary body.
Great hotel on the outskirts of Takayama.Staff was very friendly and helpful to us, even though many other guests were quite rude and annoying...Rooms were clean and comfortable but a bit too small, nearly no space for our luggage (we've put it below our bed).Shuttle service is free and is right across the street when you go out of Takayama Station.
The location on the outskirts kinda limits the possibility to stay in the city and experience night life, maybe some night shuttlebus around 12pm could be useful?
