Cons -
- Booking.com provides a link to the wrong location. We had to call the owner in order to find our way.
- That our trip had to end... Sad face... But we will be back!
- It’s not just about the resort but Mondulkiri in general, having an appropriate car makes it easier because some roads are challenging, especially around rainy season.

Sumeru is a piece of paradise. The accommodation is amazing. It has a beautiful pool and the French food is incredible! Most of it is home grown. The owners are lovely. We hired a bike from them for the day and they even tracked me down to deliver shoes I had accidentally left behind.Would definitely visit again.
The situation of this hotel is stunning, with beautiful wide-ranging views out over rolling countryside. It’s found at the end of the lovely traditional Putang village, and we thought it is a far more pleasant place to stay than in town. The couple who run it were very friendly and welcoming and they cooked delicious, simple and small, but tasty meals. The home-made jams at breakfast with home-baked bread were lovely. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower powerful and hot. I thoroughly recommend it.
From check-in to checkout it was the absolute best. The staff and owners are very attentive to your needs. They go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable time. The home cooked food, bread and jams were AMAZING!! We enjoyed a Christmas eve dinner and a Christmas day BBQ with all the guests including a bonfire with s'mores, it was lovely and the highlight of our trip.

The resort is situated in a picturesque area with nice walking paths. It has the most relaxing atmosphere and I highly recommend it if you need some quiet time and a break from the city life. We hope to come back soon.

If I could give 11 out of 10 I would as I really can’t recommend this hotel enough. First of all the location was perfect, with amazing views over the surrounding area and jungle we had beautiful sunsets every night. Each bungalow has its own terrace to sit out side and with cooler temperatures it was lovely to eat outside too. The family are super welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. All the food was home grown, or at the very least locally sourced, home made jams and breads for breakfast and always interesting dinners and my vegetarian option was always delicious. We ate here for our 3 night stay and were really impressed.I forgot to mention there is also a large swimming pool which is great after a day trekking or sun beds if you just want to chill in the sunshine. All in all one of my most favourite places I have ever stayed.
Nothing everything was great,
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The accommodation was top-notch and impeccably managed. The owners were exceptionally kind and attentive, making our experience even more enjoyable. Situated near a nice village, the property offers a serene atmosphere, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The views from the hotel are simply breathtaking. We loved the cozy, homelike ambiance and savored every bite of the delicious food form they own garden. Without a doubt, we'll be returning for another stay!
The Owners were lovely and the dinner meals were delicious and mostly from the garden.Felt like you were staying at there home. Absolutely loved staying here.Rooms were very spacious and very clean. Great Spot Highly Recommend staying here
It was a little difficult to find (my GPS took us a little off track) the road was a little rough.
This French/Cambodian couple has created a small piece of heaven on earth. The food was an extraordinary combination of the two cultures with homemade bread and vegetables from the garden. If you fancy a relaxed stay by the pool enjoying the view, or a more active exploration of the area around Sen Monorom, this is the place to start from.
Good, roomy space with great views over the hillside. Delicious home grown vegetarian food, nice pool and helpful hosts who kindly gave us a ride to Tree Lodge for our elephant sanitary visit.
The owners have built this with a wonderful eye for detail, including the view, the peace, each ‘cabin’ is equipped with a kettle, mini fridge, and very comfortable beds. The food was home grown, home made and delicious. The owners helped with transport to the town , a local tour, booking onward buses and were very knowledgeable about anything needed.
If you want to be able to walk into Sen Monorom it is a long way. But the food was so good there was no need to go elsewhere for us.
I really loved staying at Sumeru. It is located within a beautiful area, you have a great view and it’s very calm. The owners are so nice and warm people and the food is delicious. I wish I could have stayed longer. But I’m looking forward to come back!
Sumeru was honestly one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed. The property is lovely, bungalows are well designed and decorated, and the views are amazing. Delicious food cooked by the owner was a surprising bonus!
a lot of thought and design has gone into this property. verandas with views and cleanliness.
A small restaurant on the premises would be great. The venture into town can be tedious after a long day on the road.
Great place with excellent view and terrace with the swimming pool.
The hotel is new and clear. It very close to forest hiking trail but 10 mins Tuktuk ride to the city. The hotel is on top of a mountain, amazing views
The location is excellent, on the top of a hill with an excellent view, steady wind to cool down Cambodia's climate. A very quiet and peaceful place, a collection of small but exquisite bungalows, ideal to reset your mind and rest in the arms of nature. The familiy running the place is very nice and helpful, and shared kitchen allows you to cook your own meals if you prefer that to eating out in the city. Worth coming back to.
