Holo Hotel Tainan

The room is good size, clean, comfy and quiet. The hotel staffs very friendly and helpful, they attended to your questions or problems and try to help you. Location is good and close to restaurants.

The only thing I am not happy is the breakfast. It is not a typical buffet breakfast where you get to choose what to eat. It is fixed Bento set and it was outsource and hotel staff will go and pick up and deliver to us. This should be mentioned in the website so that we know what to expect and decide should we book with this type of breakfast arrangement. Anyhow, I like to thank the hotel staff cause while waiting for the breakfast to arrive, I can see the staff went out to pick up then deliver back to hotel.

Great location, beautiful furnishings in the room.

The amenities and the staff were not good. The breakfast was a mediocre bento box, only available for pick up at the lobby between the hour of 8:30-9:30. The staff answered my questions well enough, but they had no English skills, and I speak decent mandarin, so communication was still tough. The staff was also not friendly, they generally did not smile at us, and we felt like whenever we had a question (which wasn’t often) we were viewed as a burden. The beer on tap in the lobby would have been a good amenity…if it worked. But we tried two different beers and both taps were running dry and it looked like the kid behind the counter had never operated a tap before. So we just scrapped that idea and bought some bottled beer from the fridge behind the counter (still tasty).

Clean facilities, friendly staff, quiet location with two convenience stores close by, and the bed was comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Tainan!

The hotel was conveniently located, had amazing interior design, and seemed to be very new and clean. The walls were pretty thin but, for the most part, noise level was fine during our stay.

For the price of the stay, we expected the staff to be more warm and welcoming. Maybe it was just an off few days but, for the price we paid, the staff during our stay were pretty cold and never smiled.

Simple, modern rooms. Limited lobby area. Boxed breakfast. Good beer selection available at front desk. Beds comfortable. Helpful staff. Inconvenient location for master light switches on the furthest corner of the room from the door. Plenty of outlets/charging areas.

We didn’t like the food, but that might be just us Europeans who are not used to having hot pot for breakfast.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel - modern, stylish, and a good size. I thought it represented good value for money, especially considering the great location in Tainan, a lovely city.And lovely staff, who either spoke good English, or if they didn't were more than happy to make it work through Google translate. Can't ask for more than that. Accommodating of cyclists, no problem to take the bike to the room. This is always appreciated.

The room was very nicely and cozily furnished, we immediately felt at home. The facilities were generally exceptional and well thought out.

There was a problem with my booking: the room I booked was not the one I got, my room was significantly smaller. I had to deal with this for my entire stay because the service didn't have their booking system under control. In the end I got a 4% discount, which was ridiculous for the size difference and stress.

Good clean room. There is coffee and tea in the room. Clean and modern bathroom.

Breakfast is too bad. There is no breakfast hall. They just serve Chinese breakfast in a plastic cup. Also, they promote that they have free bicycles for the guests. This was actually the reason why I booked this hotel. But the bicycles are too small, children's size and very bad quality. Also I arrived at the hotel at 14:20 and I was not allowed to go to my room.

Close to two convenience stores and the look of the room doesn't have any unnecessary decoration.I had to check in when there was no staffing and initially not sure how to get in, but it worked out well with the machine.

It is new, the room esp the bathroom is beautiful. The staff was very helpful with our queries on food in Tainan.

The breakfast bento is interesting but a bit too little with minimal protein.

The room and hotel were really nice. It looks new and had a really nice vibe. It was spacious and bright. The electrical sockets were all universal which is great, there was a water refill station, the hotel soap and shampoo were great, the shower had good pressure, the breakfast was delicious and healthy (lots of veges), the bed was comfortable. I even found one of the pillows ok (I really struggle with hotel pillows).

There was a smell in the room which I'm guessing came from the ventilation as there was no window to open. Also there were lots of the tiny little flies and mosquitos in the room. I got bitten every night. The room was a bit humid so a dehumidifier would've been good. I could also hear water running through the water pipes at times. It sounded so loud I thought water was going to leak into my room through the vents (it didn't). These were not deal breakers and I didn't say anything to the staff as I'm not sure what they could've done about it and I didn't want to change rooms. I would stay there again. It was great value for money, especially compared with Taipei hotels.

The property has a friendly start up vibe which we found endearing. The staff are nice and polite and sincere. They are all pretty young and enterprising. The location is along Kang Le street and has easy access to a bubble tea shop, convenience stalls and a 15 mins walk to city centre. The hotel provides bento breakfast and the food is healthy and has variety. Very much appreciated. My husband tried the beer on tap at the reception bar and found it really delicious.

The building seemed to have sewage issues- the bathroom basin smells bad, but please do not let it deter you from giving them a shot. The friendly and practical attitude of the staff more than made up for the inconvenience of the smell. Plus, when we were there, we saw they got some help to try to deal with the sewage smell. However Tainan is an old city and perhaps it was not easy to deal with this situation, as we would expect.

The hotel’s location was excellent, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The free use of bikes was a thoughtful and much-appreciated addition, allowing us to enjoy the area in a fun and convenient way. The aesthetics of the hotel were beautifully curated, creating a stylish and visually appealing environment that added to the experience.

Unfortunately, there were several disappointing aspects of our stay. We had specifically booked and paid extra for a room with a balcony to enjoy natural daylight, but accessing the balcony required going through the bathroom, leaving the actual room quite dark. The balcony itself was very small and not as enjoyable as we’d hoped.The bath water was cold, which meant we couldn’t enjoy a relaxing soak as planned. Additionally, breakfast on the second day was not offered to us, but considering the first day’s experience, we didn’t mind – the breakfast wasn’t vegetarian-friendly, which was disappointing, as it’s not appropriate to assume all guests eat meat.The WiFi was non-existent. In-room amenities were lacking, with no milk or sugar for the coffee machine. When we asked for these items, the staff simply said no, making the coffee machine a rather pointless feature. The buttons for the lights by the bed were illuminated and kept us awake, affecting our sleep quality.Lastly, the staff, while efficient, came across as quite cold, which detracted from the overall warmth of the stay.
