Pros +

Lounge has a mountain cabin feel to it. Close to the downtown Hakone area.
The staff was friendly and helpful. It was nice being able to sit by the fire and order food or drinks. The showers were not packed nor was there a line when we happened to be using them, so we didn't have to wait on anyone. Also the beds were comfy.

Cons -

English wasn't great, communication between staff caused some confusion around billing for dinner/drinks. Getting to it is tricky on the public buss, requires navigating a small hillside road.
The rooms were dusty, With the layout it would be hard to clean them. I could not find any way to temperature control my room. Finally, we stayed during March and saw only spiderweb until checkout when we saw a huge spider on the floor in the main area.
