Pros +
- The lady who owns the place is super nice. Durian Chalets is situated in a very quiet location bordering the rainforest. Rooms are very simple, but for us it added to the experience.
- In the heart of the rainforest, we saw more wildlife staying there than when we actually went on the trail in taman negara park, including a hornbill. Host was very friendly and helpful and cooks a lovely breakfast for a small cost each morning. Room had air con and a fan, bed was comfortable and plenty of space Excellent value for money, for the price we had everything we could need/want
- really friendly staff willing to help you with anything g you need.
Cons -
- Our room had just a fan (no AC), but it was manageable. A huge spider entered the bathroom, but the lady fixed it swiftly (sadly in the only reasonable way under those circumstances, i.e. killing the spider)
- The property is more out of the way which means a bit of a walk which is steep in parts after a long day its not what you want BUT if you want a quieter stay and to see more nature it is a small price to pay. Water pressure isnt the best but again it does the job and what can you expect of a rural stay
- - The walk there and back to village is quite steep not an issue, just need to be aware of it
