Solitude by Nature Resorts and Stays,Kotagiri

This place is perfect if you want a quiet escape in beautiful surroundings. We had the Tranquility room, which is so nicely decorated and has two terraces, wow. The front terrace is shared but the rear terrace is private. Loved hearing all the morning birdsong sitting outside. The room is super clean, loved the bed. There are a couple hammocks on the grounds. We left before the breakfast time but they made us something simple. Credit cards accepted with no surcharge.

I'm only giving this place 9.0 as they are not straightforward on food pricing. They have a large variety available on the menu and it notes there is a 10% service charge added, which is fine. We ordered a few things for dinner and when I paid the bill in the morning they added 18% in taxes (two 9% line items), not 10%. Even though the add'l amount is small they still should be more honest with pricing. The food was good though prices are a bit high, for example 190 rupees (plus that 18%) for a bowl of chicken soup that was surprisingly small.

The staff especially Kishore was very warmAnd cordial and went out of the way to keep us comfortable. The service boys were excellent and had lots of patience in serving us.

It’s a quiet place and it had a good view of the forest.

Its one of the best resorts with amazing location. Truely lives up to its name. Waking up each morning with an astounding nature view from the room, easy accessibility to view points/sightseeing spots etc. Superb staff. I would like to express a big gratitude and thanks to Nitish and entire kitchen staff for their hospitality and specially to chef Guru for the amazing food! I would like to have a special mention about Kishore. His hospitality and taking utmost care of us has really moved us. Right from while we were on our way it was sweet for him to follow up couple of times if everything was fine and if we would like to place lunch order. Since we were 2 adults and 2 kids , post lunch to my pleasant surpise I got to know that they upgraded us to a bigger room considering the kids age, which was really amazing. Solitude will be my go to place whenever I am visiting Kotagiri. Many thanks again to entire staff for taking care of us.

The property itself is set in a magical location overlooking the peaceful and tranquil Nilgiris forest. The hotel staff especially the manager Kishore were so welcoming and hospitable, going above and beyond to accommodate our every need. When we were feeling sick, Kishore went out of his way to take us to the doctor, translate for us and ensure we had all the appropriate medications. He made helped make our stay so memorable and we will never forget his kind hospitality and service. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful time away in an immaculate location with generous service!

The food was amazing and the view from the room were stunning.

So peaceful and relaxing. The lemon basil and honey tea when we arrived was just the pick-me-up we needed after the long drive and set scene of calm and serenity. The nature all around us was such a lovely experience.

We should have stayed a bit longer.
