Matsue Excel Hotel Tokyu

The hotel breakfast was very Japanese and very good. The local clam soup is delicious.

It’s awkwardly situated opposite the station but no way to cross the street directly, you have to walk around or use the underground tunnel up the road. The room was noisy, continuous humming of airconditioner and other machines. The bathroom is an awkward step up from the floor, dangerous - especially at night. The temperature couldn’t be lowered to less than 20 degrees celcius. Too warm for a comfortable sleep.

The room was comfortable and a good size and the breakfast was exceptional. This was a great base to explore Matsue. There weren't too many choices for dining nearby, but a moderate (15 minute) walk away.

The breakfast was excellent value. Many Japanese options with many Western options as well. There were many veggie options which I appreciated.

The pillows were not so comfortable. One was bumpy/firm, the other kind was normal, but both was too low with one but too high with two.

A cleanly hotel with helpful staff and a prime location.

Good location close to the train station. Breakfast was good.

The parking wasn’t ideal. The hotel had a paid parking lot for ¥1200 over night, but we went out to pick up dinner and it was ¥500 to leave the lot after being there for an hour. Then when we returned, the parking lot was full and we had to find another paid parking lot close by. This lot was almost full as well, so it would be difficult if you had to search for a lot being unfamiliar with the area. This lot was cheaper than the hotel’s and we opted to use this one each day instead. Also, the bathroom was on different levels, ie step up into the bathroom and then up into the toilet.

Across from train station, large modern room, staff were excellent.

Nothing to comment, we loved staying there and plan on staying at another Matsue in the future.

The location was great, in that the railway and bus station were across the road. Great restaurants along the main road and tourist spots can be easily reached via bus. Friendly staff and room was spacious.

Large bed and a large room, great pajamas. Nice bathroom, great space around bed, good lighting. Very clean.

A nice place to stay at Matsue.The hotel is close to the Train Station and the bus stop.There are some shopping malls near the hotel and the train station, too.The staff are friendly and can speak English well.The room is tidy and clean. They also have some extra facilities like washing machines, dryers, ...

The hotel is OK—there are many choices to eat for breakfast. The room I got is very clean. The location of the hotel is very close to the Matsue Station.

Wi-Fi sometimes has a very low speed.

I only stayed 2 nights at Matsue. I liked the hotel so much that I wish I could stay longer. It is really close to the station and it is convenient to visit the Shimane Art Museum and the Apache Museum (by train).

Location and the hotel in general is good.

Price of the room, I think too expensive for a superior double room in Matsue actually (2022 April), is at Tokyo level for the similar size.
