Mira Montra Resort Koh Mak

Nice location.

On the second day there was a green algae bloom and jelly fish and we couldn't use the beach. Also, the beach had plastic litter and some other litter.

The location was just stunning! Even though we were unlucky with the weather (strong winds, low temperature), we could see that this was paradise! The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast was by far the best we had in our 2 weeks long trip - many vegan options, think soy milk, hummus, tofu, edamame, chia pudding, etc. The beachfront villa was great. The hillside villa a bit far from the hotel facilities, but the view from up there was simply amazing.We loved that we could rent a golf cart and explore the island on our own!

Hotel is a bit far from everything on the island, which I guess is why many people choose it. Due to it being situated on the northern side of the island, there were very strong winds which made it impossible to swim in the ocean. We went to another beach on the south/western coast instead and had no problems there.

Breakfast was excellent. good selection and variety. Outdoor showers in the Villa's are great. Housekeeping service was on point every morning. The Golfcart rental service was amazing. provides a resort feeling to access the entire island.

Everything was good. No complaints. An improvement could be to distribute some garbage bins across the property especially during the windy season. The ocean plastic washes up on the beach, they do have a clean up crew to clean it a few times a day. But as a responsible traveler would be happy to pick up things along the way and drop them in a bin.

The staff was wonderful!! The room was clean and comfortable. It was lovely to be able to walk 40 feet from the room to the beach.

The sand flies were a little bothersome, but coconut oil and bug spray were provided and the staff gave warnings at check in.

we really liked the architecture of the entire resort. especially the open lobby-restaurant is excellent. the setting of the pool is beautiful. also the beach houses are fabulous, we liked the outdoor shower connected to the bathroom.

food was good, but could be better...

I travelled off-season, but during off-season this is best value for money you can get. Full recommedantion.

Truth being not, not much to dislike. One of the nicest beaches on the island. Small but nice pool, extremly friendly staff. Overall lovely resort. And again, full recommendation.

All the staff very helpful since they come to pick up you from the pier until you check out.

Breakfast food don’t have too many options for you most of the food same like every day.

Location and resort villas

Sand Flies - beware.

Very clean rooms and all linen felt nice and soft. A private and slightly secluded beach was great without too many people around. Hotel provides free snorkels, kayaks etc for rent which is very handy. The location is beautiful but not very convenient so you must rent a bike or a car - this is a little pricier at the hotel than outside and you must return it before 7pm or they charge you an hourly late fee. The restaurant is rather small and gets crowded during breakfast. The outside tables are in the sun so they go unused in the morning. Quite a lot of small groups and families with children while we were here so it got a little loud at times and we were unable to use the pool (which is quite small) as it was occupied by the kids all the time.

Loved the waffle dogs upon! The possibility to rent golf carts made our stay perfect as it allowed us to easily cruise the island and discover. The kayak and paddle boards were also great of course. If i'm ever back in the area, I will come again!

That I did not book more nights at this hotel. What a relaxing stay!

Close to the beach and had a bunch of activities like Kayaking, Paddle boarding that were on the house.Food was great and good value for money in general.The beach was calm, shallow and clean.

They charge you for a golf cart/bike rental for a 24 hour period - irrespective if you are checking out the next day or not.Should consider 12 hour period too to give people some flexibility.

Amazing staff, location and bungalow. Lunch and dinner was amazing, breakfast could be better to match the level of the rest.

It was stunning. The rooms were lovely, it was very well kept. The view from the rooms on the hill were amazing, and kept very clean. The food was good. We were very happy for the most part.

A few really simple things would make this accommodation better - more sunbeds, cleaning up the beach at the end (it’s cleaned to a point then just left covered in rubbish), raking the beach for the sandflies (they do this at other resorts and we have never been bitten but were bitten here and didn’t see any raking) and most importantly, don’t rush people out of the restaurant at 8.30! Zero nightlife at all here and quite out of the way, which is nice some nights but we felt really rushed most evenings we ate there so opted to eat out most nights. Shame as the view is amazing.

We had a wonderfull stay at the mira montra and the stuff was super friendly and always had an answer to all out question. Really nice location and beach and of course beautiful island!

The view is amazing and efficient house keeping team.

Not much variety breakfast, the staff is not helpful, not welcoming and only task focussed. Activities were self serviced, had to carry your own kayak and sub boards. There is only two sub boards available in the resort and they were unavailable most of the time. On our departure day, we almost missed the ferry due to the miscommunication of the staff, wrote the wrong time on our ticket, but thanks to the short hair receptionist who solved our the problem and help us to get to the pier on time.

Mira Montra is a lovely hotel, set on a stunning beach. There are no other hotels, just a long expanse of beach and gorgeous warm water to enjoy. Our Beachfront Deluxe Villa was really comfortable, with loungers and easy chairs out front. The beach in front of the hotel is meticulously maintained by the lovely staff. Breakfasts were good, with plenty of options for all tastes, and different types of eggs could be ordered. The rental scooters were great for exploring the island, as the hotel is in a quiet location.

There was nothing to dislike, although the perimeter area of the beach, away from the hotel, had a fair amount of washed up rubbish, which was a shame. I am sure the hotel could extend their cleaning boundaries to the perimeter edges, or failing that, place some collection baskets/bags, so that guests who felt inclined, whilst strolling up and down, could do their bit too!!

It was Beautiful and staff were amazing ! Although the beach was beautiful , the water was to choppy to swim in , we went to other beaches where the water was more calm and could swim and enjoy the Beautiful sea .
