The Mak Trat

We had a great stay! The room was new and stylish, room service was good, and the pool with its lovely view were highlights.

While the food wasn't great for the price, the worst part was the attitude of the reception staff. There was a significant contrast in the receptionist's demeanor: very nice at check-in, but surprisingly rude at check-out regarding minor matters. This kind of unprofessional behavior is a serious problem.

May be the swimming pool, too hot and too small. But the beach and the sea are a god option for swimming…

Great location and friendly staff

Staff were fighting among themselves one day, and were late for room cleaning another day. But overall they were very friendly and very helpful!Pet wasn't allowed indoors for meals like breakfast, proved to be too hot sometimes being stuck outside.

It was our second stay at the Mak Trat, the staff were excellent, helpful and attentive, Deer and Dream on reception are a great asset to the team and added to a really good experience, we stayed for 5 nights and ended up having dinner there most nights, this time the menu had been improved with all our choices available as logistically it’s not easy for any of the hotels on the island to achieve this, the cocktails are very good, breakfast was also tasty offering a good selection. We also took advantage of the reliable transport they offer to and from the speedboat at the pier, motor scooters are also available at a very fair price.The accommodation itself is excellent with beautiful large peaceful comfortable rooms with daily room service, we would not hesitate to book again, all the team speak English well especially on reception who are extremely helpful, kind and genuine.Service is critical to enhance the quality of your stay, the management have done well to achieve this!

The room located with space and plan , swimming pool and beach area , private and quiet

The villa was perfect, breakfast was nice, the staff were really helpful and kind. The private beach was pleasant.

The only downside is that you are far from everything but some may find that positive because it was so chill and relaxed.

The hotel was gorgeous and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The receptionist was particularly lovely.

Villa was right next to the beach with beautiful view of the islands.The staff were very helpful and friendly.

There was a steep hill to climb to the restaurant and swimming pool although you could call reception for a buggy pick up.

Great staff. Extremely friendly and helpful. Really wonderful rooms/houses with fabulous seaview. Good breakfast buffet and restaurant. Solid wifi connection. Easy to rent scooters onsite to drive around the island. We had all dinners at the restaurant in the resort next door (Little Moon Dine and Café) - highly recommendable and really good food! Both Thai and pastas. Great coffee too.

The location is the only downside of The Mak Trat. It’s pretty much in the middle of nowhere, and the beach is not worth hanging out at.

This resort is simply spectacular! A dreamlike place where elegance, impeccable cleanliness, and tranquility create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. Everything is well-organized, from the beautifully maintained gardens to the outstanding service.Although it is located a bit further from the island’s main attractions, this can be an advantage for those seeking peace and privacy. We enjoyed every moment spent here, and if we return to this beautiful island, we will undoubtedly choose this resort again!

Amazing property, we stayed in a private house and it was incredible. We wanted to stay for more days, but the property was fully booked so we promised we will come back to Koh Mak!

1.) The greatest sea view in Koh Mak.2. The staff providing transportation from the pier to the island offered excellent service.

1. Employees were talking loudly while customers were dining.2. Employees did not support the menu items that customers ordered and suggested dining at another restaurant (for certain items).3. Service was slow.4. The breakfast offered was very limited and not worth the price paid, especially compared to accommodations of the same level.5. The ordered food arrived very late, and the serving staff seemed untrained in proper food service.

View and pool

We had food poisoning. We ordered PadThai with shrimp. First received it with chicken. Than the waitress come back in 5min with the one with shrimps that were grey inside. After that we ate a burger that was not good. The meat was not good. Next day whole day vomiting and in the toilet....

Best hotel on all the islands! We had an incredible time. The pool and its view are outstanding, the breakfast buffet is very good for Thai standards, the staff is incredibly friendly. You can write them anytime on WhatsApp. The food and drinks are also very good - try the pad thai and the passion fruit smoothie and thank me later! The rooms see beautifully decorated and spacious, with AC and a fan above the bed. This hotel just offers the best money for value :)

Hard to think of anything. They don‘t offer laundry service in case you‘d need it, check with locals who offer this service.

Bakery items are expensive but really good. Pool with a view (altough neither sunrise nor sunset can be seen from pool)

Too less (and unmotivated) personal. Reception can hardly speak english. Breakfast has to be fully ordered (including time) from a very limited range evening before. Family villa was actually 2 rooms (with seperated entrances) on 2 floors, but only one key per room available. beach was extremly shallow, full of stones and broken glass bottles (in and out of the water) (!?) and was not cleaned whatsoever. We cancelled the pre payed bad experience after first nigth (but know one cared there to ask why)

The infraestructure is simply amazing but the costume care doesn’t correspond. It could easily be a 5 starts hotel if there was a proper reception and attention to client.

Attention to client: they don’t show around the area when you check in, don’t explain the spaces, rules, schedules…they just give you a whatsapp in which you can send all questions. In the end you spend the hole time on whatsapp to get info that could easily be told at check in.
