    • Very attentive staff, quiet place and good breakfast.
    • Loved our stay at Villa Allure so much so that we ended up extending! The hotel is in a slightly isolated and quiet area but very easy to travel around if you hire a motorbike or golf cart (no more than 20 mins to get to the other end of the island). They offered a pick up service from the pier on our arrival which was perfect. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It was wonderful waking up to the sea view every morning. The free kayaks were a great bonus, we recommend making use of this during sunset when the sea is calm - it’s not really possible to swim in as it’s very rocky and there are lots of sea urchins but Laem Son beach is nearby and great for swimming. The bike we hired wasn’t the best but it did the job. We also loved the breakfast options. Staff were incredibly helpful and hardworking, we really appreciate that they dropped us off to the pier on our last day at no extra cost. They also came to our rescue when we had some bike troubles. If you see a very vocal tabby cat, make sure to give her some love she is very cute! Great value stay, recommend supporting this family run business.
    • This was our third time in Koh Mak and we chose to stay away from the “town” this time. Villa Allure was the perfect location for what we wanted: absolute peace and quiet, in a very natural setting. However, even though you can have all your meals with decent quality at the property’s restaurant, a scooter is necessary to go around the island, especially to visit other beaches. The staff was amazing, especially On and the guys at the front desk and restaurant. They were extremely friendly and helpful and it was a pleasure to interact with them on a daily basis. The restaurant area was also very nice to hang around, very inviting and we spent quite a lot of time there, extending our breakfast which was quite good. On the negative side, as many other reviews mentioned, the property needs urgent renovation, mainly the rooms. The bungalows are in fairly bad conditions with broken roofs, covered holes in the wall, faded paint, etc. The shower was quite bad and rusty and the drain was constantly clogged. The overall cleanness was poor, with stains on the bedding and the bathroom in dire need of a deep clean.I know this sounds contradictory but, all in all, we had a great stay. The location and the feeling of being close to nature, combined with the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff made up for the maintenance and cleanliness shortcomings. We really hope that they can make improvements to the property and in this case we won’t hesitate to come back.

    Cons -

    • Location and wifi didn't work in the room
    • The plastic mattress not very comfortable,When it s spring time ?
    • They never changed the bedding which would have been nice since we were there for a week.

I really regret that I booked, only 4 days and could not extend, as there were no available houses. After Koh Chang, this place seemed the most welcoming and cozy. We lived in a 4-house with a sea view, and it is a fantastic pleasure to watch and listen to the waves. The houses are spacious and clean, yes, everything is not new, but it is comfortable to be there. Comfortable bed, blinds and curtains from the light. Sun loungers on the balcony. Breakfasts are simple but delicious. Excellent restaurant, everything is simple but delicious. You will be met from the pier, taken to rent a motorcycle. Upon departure, they will also take you to the pier. The territory is well-groomed, the beach is not the best on the island, but you can swim, especially at dawn, the water is clean, and you can also take a kayak for free and sail to the gorgeous Laem Sony beach, only 10 minutes. The staff is very friendly, attentive and nice, they work from morning till evening, I have not seen anyone resting. I recommend this place 100%

I liked everything, but I warn you, there is no refrigerator and kettle in the room, but the restaurant always has free coffee and tea. Tap water is a little salty. This is a jungle, be prepared for geckos, they often catch insects and live in the rooms, but they are completely harmless. Sometimes there is a sewage smell, but you can just close the toilet door. These are small minuses, but the pluses of this place outweigh everything.

Lovely quiet location.Really well designed spaces. Very cool look to everything.Stunning gardens and nice beach. Amazing staff.

Little bit tired needs a chunk of money to get it fully back on its feet again.

Villa Allure is a nice hotel/place to stay in Koh Mak. It is located in the north eastern part of the island, quite a distant from the lively areas in between rubber and palm trees. The set up of the resort is nice, the path to the house takes you partly through the forest. You can tell that nature and the house blend well together. The house was clean, spacious, modern/minimalistic and bright. Tones of white, gray and wood mixed together. The toilet was spacious with a shower area next to it. The sink was located in the room. There was a large bed with soft pillows and the aircon worked well. I liked the service that the people provided. On the first night our house short circuited. They tried their best to fix the electricity but to no avail. Staff did some calls and we were offered to stay at a different location. At first I believed that we would stay at someones house, but we were transported to another resort called the Makathanee resort in the south of the island. Renting a scooter is easy, and you really need to do that if you want to see the island. The view of the house was splendid, we got a house that was partially sea and garden view. You can take one of the canoes and canoe a bit around the area.Regarding the location. It is located in a remote area of the island. You NEED to rent the scooter of the resort if you wish to see the island. When I say remote, I mean really remote. Like you can travel at night (starts at 6pm) and not see anyone as you drive through the pitch black palm and rubber tree forests. The nearest restaurants are around 10 to 20min away by scooter and only a few roads are lit. Lucky the island is not heavily populated so driving around by scooter is really easy as there is barely any traffic.

At a first glance I really liked staying at Villa Allure and it is worth the score it has, but there are a few things I believe they might be able to improve on to make it even greater. 1. WiFi. WiFi is offered in the common area near the reception and kitchen, unfortunately it was not working at all, and during my entire stay I was unable to check my messages which I kind of needed to do for work on those specific days. 2. Furniture outside. The houses are really nice, but I missed having some essential furniture. You have a big veranda attached to your house, but I missed having a chair or two so I could sit there with my partner and enjoy the view of the garden and the sea. Two simple wooden chairs with maybe a table would be an improvement. A dry rack outside for some of the clothes would also have been helpful. 3. Furniture inside. The room is big and spacious and I found out I kind of wanted to have a chair inside as well, something where I can put some clothes on. There is ample space for that. I also missed having a dry rack inside. There was one in the bathroom but to small if you are traveling with someone else. Adding to that I missed an area where I could hang my clothes. No clothes hooks or a beam to hang them. As mentioned before, there is space for that. 4. Smell. Now this is something I noticed when I arrived that there was a particular smell at the reception/entrance. At first I believed it had to with the big fish pond and the koi carpers, but on the last day I found the issue. Around the entrance there are several water basins and one of them was nearly empty. I looked inside and saw a lot of frogs in there. Now that is not bad at all, but I noticed that there were several of them floating dead in shallow murky water. I guess due to the heat the water dropped so low that the frogs couldn't get out. This also explains why there were so many flies in that area.

Perfect location to unwind. Right next to the sea with another lovely beach just a 10 minute walk away. The staff are friendly, considerate and will go out of their way to make your stay the best you could wish for. The food is also amazing. I ate there 4 nights out of 5 and didn’t have 1 bad meal. I can not speak highly enough of my experience here. 5 stars

There isn’t anything. It was perfect

We've loved our stay at the resort, the staff was very professional and extremely polite and they took very good care of us! They picked us up from the pier, provided us with a scooter for a fair price, they offer excursions and they are very close to Koh kradak, a very pretty small island. They provide transportation to Koh Kradak as well! Breakfast is included and you can chose between Thai and continental. The structure is very clean and styled with taste. The beach is perfect, nice sand, clean water. Loved it and miss it already!!!

    Nothing:)

Lovely and peaceful as everyone says. Has a retreat feel to it. We had a ‘garden view’ room booked so wasn’t expecting much. Our bungalow was right on the front so we had a beautiful view of the sea laying in bed in the morning. The staff are so lovely and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Free kayaks to use. You can paddle round the headland and there is a bar/restaurant you can get too. The sea is lovely and clear. Nice little beach. The place is quite out the way which we didn’t mind, but you will need a scooter (you can hire for £4 a day from them)

The rooms themselves are quite basic. No kettle, fridge or safe. Nowhere to hang clothes or sit inside apart from the bed. Air conditioning was very loud too and kept us awake so we had to turn it off. We only paid £90 for 3 night here though so cannot complain. Just small things that would make the stay more comfortable.

Very nice and caring staff, taking good care of us. The place is quiet and isolated, which we loved. The bungalows are simple and facing the beautiful sunrise. We will come again.

Great breakfast, lovely staff, calm and relaxing area.

    8SimonePosted on: 1-11-2025

This property offers excellent value and you can see it was once a very nice resort however I feel like they have let it deteriorate to some degree and reduced the rate accordingly. That said, the villas are spacious and all offer beautiful views across the water. They are some distance from the action and you will need a scooter or taxi but this is also what adds to the charm and peacefulness of this property. The staff are also exceptional and multi task their responsibilities with a smile. Particular mention to Aon who is exemplary and seems to be on call 24/7, thank you!

I would have liked tea/coffee facilities (they gave me a kettle) and a mini fridge. Get rid of the Cable TV if it doesn’t work, a bedside lamp and full length mirror or dresser (my bathroom was dark and that was the only mirror) would be handy. The shower was either boiling hot or luke warm and the pressure was not good. An overall freshen up, some things are just a bit worn out and yuck but then for the price, it’s hard to really complain.

    10SegolenePosted on: 1-5-2025

This is the perfect place if you need tranquility and serenity. Very remote, so no people walking on the beach like you would get in the center of town. The rooms are super clean and simple, the breakfast fantastic, and staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Aon, who went above and beyond all through my stay. She even helped me with tricky last minute boat tickets issues. Each night, she would enquire how my day was, and we would have our daily chat :0) This place is a hidden paradise and I cannot wait to return.

    I liked everything

    10JonasPosted on: 12-24-2024

    - staff is super friendly and help you with everything- location is a bit remote, but I think that's quite nice and makes the place charming (with a scooter it's absolutely no problem)- villas are super clean and spacious, beds are comfy, they have bedside and bathroom lights with warm bulbs- food from the restaurant is very good and not overpriced. Included breakfast was also good and you have the choice between four different sets + fruits etc.- free kayaks to explore the surroundings. They also have scooters for a fair price- pickup from the ferry (free from speedboat pier, otherwise 20 bath)

    - the wifi was really not that great. In the restaurant and reception area it was working quite perfectly, but in the villa it was very spotty. Sometimes possible to stream YT, sometimes not. Kind of fine, but if you want to work remotely, expect to take some breaks or work full time from the restaurant :D
