The Raintree Hotel - St.Mary's Road

Exceptionally maintained property in the heart of Chennai. Very courteous and professional staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Would highly recommend.

I had a wonderful stay at The Raintree, the hotel was comfortable, welcoming, and beautifully maintained. What really made the experience special was the exceptional buffet breakfast, rooftop view and service from the staff—especially Sumit and Sunita, who went above and beyond to help me plan my travel to Pondicherry. Their kindness, efficiency, and genuine care made my stay truly memorable, especially when I was not feeling so well. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again.

We had to move the espresso machine in our room out of the cabinet because the electrical outlet underneath the cabinet didn’t work. Wait for coffee at breakfast.

Very conveniently located, especially if you have an interview with the US embassy. Many cafes around l. The place is very clean and comfortable androom service food quality was very good. The housekeeping staff were very obliging and prompt.

Really upset about the massage I had it was $70 usd and not good at all I really regret it and wish I could get my money back and the time I wasted. It was so weak so I asked her to do more pressure for shoulders multiples and spend more time on shoulders and back and she ignored my requests completely. I was too nice to say anything to her or management that I was extremely disappointed and did not enjoy it but now I wish I had given feedback. It was such a waste of money. My friend also had the same girl and had the same experience. I know they have other girls that probably do give good massage and I forget who I had but she needs to be retrained. I traveled for so long and needed a good massage but was so sad when I had someone who doesn’t know how to do pressure in shoulders or any good techniques. I hate to complain about it but I’ve had massages that cost less than $10 that were 1000x times better than what I spent so much on here

I liked the cleanliness of the property. The buffet in the Colony restaurant. My room was very comfortable and gave me the privacy to do my work. The decor was excellent with fragrant corridors. I really liked the personal message on the tv screen and easy to use remote control. The staff were professional and attentive. I really enjoyed my stay there.

The room dining menu downloaded from the tv wasn't up to date, so when I rang room service and ordered some food I was told it was unavailable

Only 2 loungers at the pool so no place to sit as they were occupied

Very good breakfast. Bread variety was very limited. The coffee was excellent. And the service prompt and smiling

Have cut down on in room amenties. The generous fruit platter was missing. The bathroom was no frill. No comb, no hand towels. The fridge was not stocked.

Ordered pomphret fry and didn't look and tasted well. Surprised to see that they are billing asap once I ordered something. Ideally many hotel will allow the guest to pay when they vacate. Something weird here.

- Breakfast was fantastic and very creative; definitely the highlight for the property- There's a rooftop pool and bar, but it is modestly sized- The staff tries to help- Area around the property is quite walkable to some nice joints (forgot the names - but a nice South Indian place, an Ice cream place, etc.)

- The room was ill-equipped - had to call multiple times for simple things like hand soap, iron and ironing board, etc. - It was expensive for the quality of the overall property/experience.

repeated intermittent issues. during last 2 stays, TV stopped working. on this last visit we had to change rooms as we were given an incorrect room, and the TV didnt work. we mentioned this on out last visit (room 211), but no one had follpwed up to fix it. even when moved to room 510, the tv stopped working as well and was never fixed. this is a basic facility that should be easy to maintain.

Nothing specific but the whole package was a good feel, and you the fact that you are coming back to something that you are expecting, and comfortable with.

The wifi connectivity was something that definitely needs improvement. Because I didnt watch any TV, did not bother to complain that the TV did not connect to their wifi or network throughout my stay!
