Hyatt Regency Chennai

Location and Breakfast was reasonably good

The hotel and rooms are very old and rundown. Cleanliness is a challenge. The hotel does not meet Hyatt standards that we enjoy at other international locations.

The food service staff (especially hotel employee) were wonderful and very friendly.

The only things were beyond the hotel's control (power and wifi outages due to storm damage, odd smells in the hallway).

Though staff is efficient, House keeping needs more attention, it would be late afternoon by the time rooms were cleaned

Breakfast choices were excellent, staff were too good, quality and taste of items were excellent.

Somehow my room key got demagnified and did not work when we returned from an evening out. The hotel staff had no answer how it could have happened although they fixed the problem immediately. Another matter was : we asked for late check out as our flight was late night at 9.30 pm. The staff simply declined saying "we are heavily booked" without checking if it was possible or not. In most hotel we could stay 24 hours and as we checked in at 17.00 hours we could have stayed there till 17.00 but they started to push us out at 12.00 which I refused. Then the Manager came on the line and insisted we check out then and there which was at 4.00 pm which I thought was a bit rude and inconsiderate.as we had our handicap son with us. The standard check in is at 15.00 hours and check out at 12.00. These are primarily for the convenience of hotel but for the customer it should be 24 hours checkout as is the practice in many hotels.

Excellant service by breakfast staff. They attended to all our small requests including making special bengali dish Luchi and Alu Dum one day in morning. Special credit goes to Restaurant manager Partiban, Servers Santu, Rahul, Chef Amir, House keeping Sanu

Room was very spacious, but bathroom towel hangers completly missing. Also no cupboard provided in bedroom only in washroom there was one.

Very friendly staff, right from checkin, all the way to concierge and cloak room staff to doorman who greeted us when arriving or departing. Amazing breakfast spread.Excellent restaurants like Spice Haat lunch buffet and Stix Very silent despite being on a ultra busy road.

They were painting some portions of the walls which meant paint smell as soon as well got off the elevators in our floor. The club wasn't worth the extra money. It barely had any snacks and coffee was just from a cappuccino machine.

Food was good. but could add more variety in the buffet. The lounge on the 9th floor was the best with good snack and wine. Pleasure to spend time there.

Egg/Omlette was not well prepared even after request for well cooked egg.Also baby food was slightly spice

The breakfast spread was awesome. The staff were attentive and helpful. The cleaning staff did an exceptional work.

Nothing much except the food

We have an infant with us so we have a stroller . The property is not stroller friendly . The swimming pool was a level down and the okly way to access it was through stairs.Lobby lounge did not have any ramps to bring the stroller.All the restaurants did not have stroller ramps . Infact everywhere there were steps which was impossible to go with a stroller . You have to carry your baby around the hotel in your arms.Including some photos of hotel.

Feedback on Breakfast Service:While the overall experience at the hotel was pleasant, the breakfast service could use improvement. The dining staff appear to need additional training. Each morning, some tables were missing cutlery, and we often had to ask for it. On two occasions, our food requests were forgotten — one day we requested pancakes that never arrived, and on another, we asked for idli, but the waiter did not return with it. Attention to detail and better coordination among the staff would greatly enhance the dining experience.Also big bath towels would be amazing for Hyatt stay in future

The check in was quick and the staff are all very courteous. The ambience of this place is fantastic. The in house restaurants are very good. The breakfast spread was very good. The room has a very good view and is spacious. The swimming pool and gym are wonderful and the lounge comfortable. All in all a very pleasant stay

The best thing i like about the property is the staff working there and trying to make your stay as comfortable as they possibly can. Specially the front office manager Mr Sawin who went way beyond our expectation, and did whatever he could do to make sure we continue our stay in the property. The lounge attender Mr Kartik and other lovely people i came across because of whom my stay was as i hoped it to be in Hyatt .

Had an amazing breakfast at Hyatt Regency Chennai — a perfect blend of South Indian flavors and international dishes, all fresh and beautifully presented. The room is big enough and location was good

To access to loopy you have go with elevator Housekeeping team need more supervision When I have arrived at 05:00 AM no one helped me with luggage from scanning machine till next level of loopy And the body wash liquid was empty no one checking that, also one glass of water available since we were two and when I have booked was for two adults Next day also housekeeping did not fill up the body wash liquid, and when we came back at night we found the room smell we can not stay one minutes because there was some painting next door Before I leave asked for housekeeping and specified to change the towels and bedsheet, unfortunately nothing happened just they brought the bedsheet and towels and put them aside no housekeeping and no replacement I was really disappointedI was not happy for my stay

The accommodation was excellent, with a prime location near the U.S. consulate. The interiors were beautifully designed, adding a unique and artistic touch to the overall experience.

the absence of a smart TV. In today's age of AI and advanced technology, it's surprising that a 5-star hotel wouldn't provide this feature. It felt like a missed opportunity.2) limited privacy in bathroom as there are no locks for the doors!

Food was good

I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The room was not clean and there was an unpleasant smell throughout. In the bathroom water was clogged and the toilet flush was not working properly. For the price paid , I expected much better standards of cleanliness and maintenance . Definitely not worth recommending unless these basic issues are addressed.
