The water in the shower, the temperature was not very stable.

The staff are so nice and friendly. The location is very good views. It’s very pleasant feeling to stay there. Something happened with my booking because of electricity of the hotel broken down but arrangements of the hotel is very good for me. I had a great time at this hotel.

Was a great hotel with wonderful views. Only downside was that most of the restaurants in the town they take you to at night were closed so it was hard to get dinner anywhere. Would have been better with more options for transfers to and from Rusutsu resort.

The view from the room was definitely 5 stars, but everything else was closer to 3.5 stars. The toilet had motion sensor lights that turned off in less than a minute without movement, requiring occasional gestures to avoid being left in complete darkness. The basin tap was extremely short—only about 6cm from the base—making it inconvenient to fill the room kettle. To do so, you’d need to use the toothbrush cup multiple times. It could also be particularly frustrating for those with larger hands.For the price, the hotel did not offer room service. The breakfast selection was very limited, and there was no countertop space to place your food tray while using one hand to open the oven toaster to put your bread in, wait for 5mins and take it out. Housekeeping did not replenish the small, handcream tube-sized shower toiletries. Additionally, the automatic curtains malfunctioned on the second day, requiring a staff member to reset the room’s power supply by changing the keycard.At the restaurant, the window-side tables had a breathtaking view, but they were also directly exposed to the morning sun, making the experience uncomfortably hot and glaring—what a pity! On the morning of our checkout at 7a., the entire first level, including the lobby reception, was deserted. A bell at the reception indicated that staff would arrive shortly after ringing it, but after pressing it five times with no response, I had to walk all the way to the restaurant at the back of the hotel to find someone to assist with checkout.That said, if these issues aren’t dealbreakers for you, it’s still a beautifully designed, exquisite hotel to enjoy your time at Lake Toya.

Overall, the facilities, Onsen, and the room was excellent. The view of the room stands out as the best feature. the room was clean and comfortable. Onsen was clean and outside experience was incredible. shuttle bus was helpful and convenient, This hotel was very quiet and peaceful, which is something we needed. Goof value for the money, we are coming back again.

The breakfast would be my only complicate during my stay here. The breakfast was very limited and only had a few things to offer. I really enjoy Japanese breakfast type but in my opinion the main dish was not very, one morning the lamb was poorly cooked and not good taste, and the next day had a poorly prepared main dish, very limited options and not prepared very well. The dinner offered did not taste bad but small portion of food and had no side accommodations with the main dish, i.e. good salad, or some fresh bread or something to complete the meal. Just the small portion of the main dish. and the desert that was over priced, and poor value for the moneyMy wife and I went to the convenient store and brought cup noodles to complete our meal.

Very new and clean hotel with modern design. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful to assist with taxi and shuttle bus arrangement. The view from the hotel room to Lake Toya was gorgeous.

The water heating in the room was a bit lacking, I would get mix of hot and cold water while showering. Some guests were quite loud when walking around the corridor.

A nice buffet selection of traditional Japanese breakfast dishes. Very spacious rooms with a beautiful view. Good amenities with daily top ups and beautiful yukata changed daily also. The staff were friendly and the hotel was always cleans Dan quiet.

There weren’t many other dining options other than the restaurant at the hotel. Other restaurants were a 20 min drive away, which is not too bad, but the majority were closed (?due to winter?)

Wonderful view of a beautiful part of the lake. Amenities were excellent.

External appearance not great

WE Toya went above and beyond in terms of service. They catered for pretty much every need we had (organising taxis, their shuttle service to Rusutsu and their willingness to adapt their Omakase to our dietary requirements). They were always friendly and courteous—and the reception staff spoke English very well.The hotel itself is perched up on a hill and rooms (and the onsen facilities) have an amazing view. The rooms are clean and spacious and the facilities are excellent.

I would recommend writing them ahead of time or calling them to understand if your needs are met. Going from their materials, it could be hard to understand which services were on offer. However, their service-mindedness starts well before your arrival, so make full use of this!Also be mindful that this is a somewhat isolated location, sitting at the edge of a village where the supermarket closes at 5 p.m. That's part of the charm, but if you don't have a car with you, you need to be on top of your logistics.

View is exceptional, both from the Lake View Room and from the Onsen. Watching the sunrise from the outdoor onsen was stunning. Rooms are true to size and bed is comfortable. Breakfast was a wonderful combination of traditional and western breakfast options.

Quiet location

Poorly designed. Tap too low, no space to wash hands. Toilet design made it difficult to stay as a family (no privacy for changing post bath). Breakfast was terrible quality. Staff (esp the male manager at the restaurant) was unfriendly.

Views from the room, quiet location, beautiful surroundings, bath on the balcony, comfy bed.

Quality of the dinner food options was not high and didn’t match the price - very expensive evening food options for quite low quality.

The hotel was very nice and well done. There was a cool small onsen on the balcony that was super nice. All of the staff was super friendly and it has a great sake selection to compliment the wonderful food service. The public bath was super nice too.

The location is a little rural, so plan ahead.

Nice and cosy hotel, rooms are clean with decent view of Lake Toya. Photos are a true reflection of the rooms. Onsen is available in the hotel and a private bath in the room

View 10/10 - came to experience the view and it was the best view ever.

Public Onsen - 6/10 (no view and water not as hot)In-room bath - the outdoor bath is not onsen but normal water from the tap. In-room toilet—4/10 (It would be great to add a sliding door between the bathroom and the living room for privacy. The water tap is too long for the basin. It looks nice, but it can be improved in terms of functionality.

Privacy. As its a small property, love it when its not so crowded with guests. Right from check in, we are guided to a rest area and staff will attend to you. Dinning area are small and cozy with set meals for breakfast and dinner. We have a room for 3 adults. Its on the small side but with spectacular view of the Lake. Did not get a chance to use the outdoor bath as its super cold and windy in the winter, thou i book because of this?. Onsen was remarkably clean and pleasant. With indoor and outdoor choice of Onsen. Personally prefer the outdoor feel. Checking out was a breeze and staff are all very friendly!

Its not at the main area of the usual Lake view. So distance wise it a bit on the far side. But you will be traded off with peace and quiet. Shower door are not able to close fully and when you shower water will leak out. I guess their purpose is not for u to shower in ur room as they have a great Onsen.

The view, the design and the staff.

This property is posturing as luxury but is not. The food was subpar for a luxury hotel especially compared to less luxurious accommodation with much more sumptuous food. They were skimpy, clearly trying to save, eg it was very cold in common areas, the heat in the room was set to 20F and could not be changed. The inside onsen was not hot enough.

Great decoration. Nice staff to explain everything about the hotel.

The function in room is weird and uncomfortable. The hotel is quite far. Breakfast was not much.

High price but very very bad experience.

the distance between the water line and the wash basin is too narrow to put the hand on.the overall room design is nonsense.Food is low cost and low quality.
